About the Owner

Hi & thanks for looking at our property.

We're a UK based couple with grown up & "moved out" children. For many years we've enjoyed travelling in Italy & one day things fell into place & we decided that we'd like to put down roots of our own in the very special area of North Tuscany known as Lunigiana.

Having access to our own "home from home" means the time we spend in Italy as a couple, a family & with friends is so much more special and relaxing.

Il Podere dell Angelo (Angel's Farmhouse) has taken 6 years to renovate & now that it's finished we're delighted with the result.

Sadly we can't be there all the time, but we have local friends who manage the property for us and who "look after" guests from initial enquiry to final "check out".

Thanks again for your interest.

Much bigger than the photos show

  • 5 of 5

A great time with loads of space for six adults and three kids. The property is very big, larger than we expected. Chris was fantastic support throughout too. The drive up to the property is a little hairy to say the least, but worth it when you get there. Very much recommended for large family holidays. Shops/bars/restaurants are about 20-30 minutes away by car, but that's ok when dealing with a large family and mostly cooking at home. We would happily go back.

Breathtaking Views

  • 4 of 5

A beautiful house with magnificent views. We had a great holiday very relaxing the house was very well equipped the pool was a great success particularly with the 7yr old. The drive up to the house was challenging the time it took depended on who was driving! Chris was a star especially when we had a little car problem!! He was very helpful as was the information left in the house. Dealing with rubbish was interesting! Energetic family members did do some walking but uneven surfaces not suitable for older family members. All in all a fantastic holiday

wonderful property, amazing views. Very special

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful week at the farmhouse. A beautiful property inside & out with everything provided. Very tranquil setting and relaxing environment. It really lived up to and exceeded expectations. We had a full house from children to grandparent and all ages enjoyed both pool & the house. Many thanks to chris for providing plenty of helpful info & welcoming us to the farmhouse. Really was very difficult to leave at the end of the week and we hope to have a return visit very soon.

More amazing than can be imagined!

What can you say about perfection? ! We had a fabulous week, the photos made the place look lovely but the reality, blows the mind. Peaceful, stunning views, amazing pool, fantastic house and just the most perfect place ever. Even inspired a proposal, must have been the nightly firefly shows, magical! Loved it, hope to return! Thanks so much.

Perfect Italian Villa: Great pool & stunning views

  • 5 of 5

We had an amazing stay at Farmhouse Cisigliana. We stayed 2 weeks with 2 families of 2 adults + 2 kids and this was the perfect relaxing get-away. The property description is accurate, it was clean, well maintained but words cannot do the Villa justice.

It is well equipped with everything we needed and Chris (the property manager) was extremely helpful where nothing was too much trouble. Thanks Chris!

We would not hesitate recommending this Villa. The area is stunning, the drive to the Villa 'exhilarating', and the tranquil surroundings very relaxing.

The Villa comfortably accommodated all 8 of us with room to spare. and the wifi, play room and pool perfect for the kids. The local

We visited Pisa, Lucca some local beach resorts and villages, together with some fantastic local restaurants. A real bonus was Teresa and Antonio's garden produce 'cave' and we brought the delicious salad, tomatoes and eggs by the kilo, for just a few euro's!

We hope to go back soon!

Adam,

Wow

  • 5 of 5

Where do I start. Firstly it was a long awaited family holiday, six from the UK and my son and his fiancé joining us from New York. The house definitely had the WOW factor we all said it was way more than we expected from the photos we had seen. It was the perfect family home, very well equipped with every thing you could want. The pool was perfect (apart from the wasps) . It was so so peaceful, salad, herbs and eggs from Teresa and Antonio . The information booklet was great and well used. I could go on a bit more but I'll stop now apart from seeing some great wildlife at night especially the porcupine !!

Location

From the Owner

We loved the unspoilt Italian charm & rustic architecture. Plus Lunigiana is really well placed in terms of its proximity to the ski resorts and the coast.

Activity and Interests

Nearest Airport : Pisa at 98 Kilometres Nearest Barpub : Licciana Nardi at 7 Kilometres Nearest Ferry : La Spezia at 35 Kilometres Nearest Golf : Versilia at 64 Kilometres Nearest Train : Aulla at 15 Kilometres Nearest Motorway : Aulla at 15 Kilometres Nearest Restaurant : Licciana Nardi at 7 Kilometres Nearest Beach : Lerici at 40 Kilometres Car: necessary

Special interest holidays:

If you have a special interest which you would like to pursue locally then please mention it in your enquiry & we will share our knowledge of what is available & happily undertake further research on your behalf to see what other opportunities may exist.

Coast/Beach:

The house is about 25 mins drive down to the main motorway exit and train station (Aulla) where a whole range of coastal/beach/boating options open out within 30 - 40 minutes ranging from the bustling "Designer" resorts of Forte dei Marmi to remote beaches which can only be reached by boat.

Favourite places to visit are Portovenere, Lerici, Bocca di Magra, Santa Margherita di Ligure & Fiascherino. The big attratcions for global tourists are The Cinque Terre which are a UN World Heritage site.

Travel:

Couldn't be better!

Pisa, Genova and Parma airports are all about 1.5 hours drive away with most of that on easy to follow motorways.

Milan's two airports are approximately 3 hours away and Bologna is about 2.5 hours.

The farmhouse sits in the hills behind the town of Licciana Nardi & is reached via a country road. Independent transport is essential.

Distances:

The farmhouse sits on the edge of the small village of Cisigliana which itself lies in the hills, 15 minutes drive along a country road from Licciana Nardi with it's shops, bars, restaurants and bank etc.

The market town of Aulla is the main motorway exit & is 25 minutes "down the hill". Here there is a wider choice of shops & supermarkets.

Lunigiana (the area) is dotted with pretty towns & castles & part of the joy of a stay here is to take mini trips out to the hills or the coast.

Notes:

  • Notes on accommodation: The property sits in its own grounds & is built over 3 floors with several sets of stairs. The swimming pool is accessed direct from the farmhouse. Children of all ages are welcome, but parents must exercise control and supervision at all times. The property is "NO SMOKING" inside & tidy, "ashtray based" smoking outside. No pets are allowed. Outside: The farmhouse sits in its own grounds & is completely enclosed by either fences or hedges. There is a mixture of planting & chestnut orchard together plus fig, plum apple & pear trees - if it's on the tree and ripe then it's yours :/ The private gardens are well maintained & mature. The 12m x 5m pool is the striking main feature & there are the spectacular views from it & the balconies (suitable for sitting on) which run down the length of the farmhouse at first floor level. Perfect for watching the sun go down with a cool drink. There are ample chairs & quality sun loungers (complete with covers) so you can choose to mop up the sun or laze in the shade on any of the paved areas. A BBQ down at poolside - well what could be better? Utility Room: On the cantina/pool level there is a large & comfortable changing area which is also ideal for grabbing a quick cool drink without going up into the main farmhouse accommodation. To the rear of the room is the utility room with all the "usual suspects". Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All bed linen, towels and pool towels are included in the price & are changed after the first week. The property is cleaned before guests arrive & stripped down after they leave. Other: Ground floor bedrooms open out to patios & first floor bedrooms have balconies. On the ground floor there is a study with a rich variety of books and local reference material. There is a selection of CDs, DVDs & games plus an iPod docking station.
