Lovely Cottage - Comfortable and convenient

  • 5 of 5

We spent a wonderful week at Bredeside recently. It is a lovely comfortable cottage with everything we needed, and is larger than it appears in the photographs.

The garden was well kept and it was a joy to sit outside and watch the wildlife going up and down the river, and the sheep and rabbits on the far bank.

It is easy to walk to both Winchelsea Beach, and the village of Winchelsea which is a hidden treasure.

We also took the opportunity to do the easy level walk across the fields into Rye.

Lots to see in this area too, so would heartily recommend.

Beautiful setting

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for 2 nights over the weekend and the location was perfect for a getaway from it all and in a beautiful setting right on the River Brede.

The accomodation was very comfortable and perfect for my husband and I to share with our two teenage children. We ate in on both nights as preferred by my children and had all the cooking facililites to hand to cook adequate meals for them. There is a large weel stocked Co-op store close-by for any laste minute items required.

We were so lucky with the weather and spent one day just sitting in the garden and watching the widllife on and around the river. With everything close at hand we had all we required for a relxing break and the weekend was just not long enough, so would be happy to return for longer and definitely recommend a stay here.

The owners were very helpful and flexible with our arrival and depature and left us provisions to get us started, together with useful info on the area - we couldn't have asked for more!

Nice little house

  • 4 of 5

The house is very well located so you can visit Rye, Hastings and other surrounding areas of beauty. I loved waking up to see the ducks flying across the river as I looked from the windows in the dining room and kitchen. It made me go outside at 6am in the cold so I could watch the birds and flow of the water. The house was very cosy and clean. It had a nice garden and it would have been a lovely spot to relax in the summer months as there is a lovely patio area. I would recommend this house and would return if deciding to visit the area again.

Whilst there is a river wall between the main garden and river bank guests must recognise the risk associated with children and fast flowing water. We would not recommend this property for toddlers. The property's electricity supply is supplemented by solar panels within the garden area. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All towels and linen included except beach towels.
