Privately owned, first floor apartment 10-15 minute walk from the beautiful Son Bou Beach thought to be the longest and best beach on the Island. Situated in lawned gardens with many palm trees and flowers. It is central to 3 swimming pools, (one with water chutes). All have safe paddling areas. Children’s play area, tennis court, gift shops, supermarkets, cafes, bars and restaurants. The front balcony is south facing overlooking the gardens. An all together ideal family holiday destination.

Lovely holiday apartment

We had a wonderful time staying in this apartment in Son Bou. It is ideally located just a short walk from all the facilities, including pools, the club, parking and the shops. The owners provided lots of info/directions and were in touch with us while we were there. We had a small issue with the oven but they helped us resolve this. The apartment feels very homely and had everything we needed, even including some beach toys and lilos for the pool. The bathroom is fresh and modern whilst the bedrooms have a more traditional feel. It was nice waking up to sunshine pouring into the master bedroom through the pretty lace curtains. Everything was nice and clean when we arrived and there is also a washing machine and drying racks/space on the back balcony which was a help. Son Bou itself ticked all the boxes for us as a family holiday destination (with our two young boys - 4 and 7). We had loads of lovely relaxed days at the Son Bou Gardens pool, which felt like a warm bath in the non-stop sunshine! The beach and sea are also beautiful (10-15 minute walk from the apartment). There are plenty of activities and facilities aimed at tourists, as well as lovely family-friendly restaurants (would recommend Las Dunas and Casa Andres in particular), but Son Bou is also well-maintained, and very beautiful, so just the right balance for us.

Activity and Interests

Car: not necessary


Son Bou is famous for its long sandy beach. San Jaime has grown around this superb beach which is ideal for sunbathing, swimming, snorkeling and water-sports including pedalo hire and banana boat rides. Sun beds and umbrellas can be hired and there are 3 beach bars with toilet facilities. All this is a 10-15 minute walk away.

Many other beautiful beaches on the island are between 20 - 50 minutes drive away.


Mahon Airport is 11 miles from Son Bou,a 20 minutes drive away, and has a good taxi service to the resort. Car hire is also available at the airport or from many local providers.

The use of a car is not essential as there is a regular bus service from the resort to many towns/resorts on the island. A car is recommended to see places of interest or beaches not on the bus routes. Cars/Scooters can be hired on a daily or weekly basis.



10 minute drive to Alaior, the nearest town. Well worth a visit

15 minute drive to Monte Toro-the highest point on the island situated near Mercadal and offers fantastic panoramic views of the whole island.

25 minutes drive to Mahon,the capital, with many shops, bars and restaurants and a twice weekly market. The port has a stunning natural harbour with more restaurants, bars and gift shops.

40 minute drive to Cuitadella, the former Capital another place worth a visit.

  • Notes on accommodation: Steam iron, Ironing board, Travel Cot, Extra fans. On the rear balcony there is a storage unit with Lilos, Beach umbrellas, Buckets and Spades etc for your use. English speaking medical centre and chemist. Sun Canopy provides shade to the front balcony. Welcome Pack on arrival. Outside: The front terrace has a table and 4 chairs, 2 reclining chairs and a large wind- out sun canopy. The rear terrace has a small table and 2 chairs, a large wooden storage unit with lilos, beach toys, beach umbrellas etc. for your use. There are 2 clothes driers/airers that can be put at the front or rear of the apartment and a fixed clothes line on rear balcony. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen are included except for babies travel cot. The apartment is cleaned prior to arrival and on departure. Towels and linen are changed weekly. Beach towels not supplied but can be hired. Other: Club San Jaime is a short walk away situated close to the main cloverleaf pool. They have two bars and a restaurant with free entertainment nightly during the summer season. Pets not allowed. Strictly no smoking inside the apartment.
