'Labarthe Cottage' Sleeps 1 - 8 guests
Labarthe Cottage is the former farmhouse, a detached cottage that has been renovated and tastefully decorated throughout. It features stone walls with solid oak beams, and retains all its old charm and character. Ground level, a double bedroom with a bathroom almost ensuite.
Up the stairs, there are two bedrooms, with a bathroom which is fitted with a large shower, wash basin and W.C. To the right is a double bedroom and to the left side there is a large bedroom equipped with 4 single beds.
In total, the cottage will sleep up to 8+1/2 babies, baby cots, highchairs, stair gates and a stroller available.
While staying at Labarthe Cottage you will enjoy your own patio terrace and garden area with own BBQ and will 'splash about' in the 12x6 meter heated swimming pool and shower.
Fully self contained Cottages
Labarthe is the ideal location for your Dordogne vacation, set between the bastide towns of Eymet and Issigeac in the beautiful Southern Dordogne region. Labarthe consists of three main buildings (main house, Cottage and Pigeonnier) which surround a large graveled central yard at the end of a 250 metre private drive way. All three principal properties have their own private sun terraces with table and chairs for alfresco dining and of course all have access to the large enclosed heated swimming pool in the delightfully kept mature 2 acres of gardens.

We have just arrived home after a 12 day stay at the cottage had a lovely holiday second time around accommodation excellent pool excellent host also excellent nothing was to much trouble for Jenette would recommend to anyone, considering a return visit for the third time next year, an ideal base for touring.
Wonderfully relaxing stay!
Our family of 4 have just returned from a wonderful 12 night stay at Labarthe Cottage. We spent our time sightseeing, visiting the markets, eating and mainly swimming in the fantastic pool. The setting is beautiful, and the location, close to Eymet makes it an excellent base for exploring the area. The gite itself was very well equipped with comfy beds and plenty of towels for both gite and pool. Many thanks to Jenette for her tips and advice, and especially for arranging for food shopping due to our late arrival. It was much appreciated!
We would definitely recommend Labarthe - hope to visit again soon, Cathy, Atul, Ollie & Daisy.
A beautiful property with lovely rustic features
We had a wonderful holiday at Labarthe gites. The property was just as described and we had everything we needed. My 9 year old daughter adored the upstairs bedroom with its beams and large bathroom.
The pool was great for our days relaxing and the location is ideal for sight seeing. Bergerac,Bordeaux and Sarlat are all within easy travelling distance. Kayaking on the Dordogne is great fun and wine tasting at the many vineyards is a must. There are restaurants in Eymet to suit everyone's taste and pocket, The markets are a lovely way to pass a morning and to sample local produce.
Jenette was on hand to help with any queries and was very helpful and the goodies provided when we arrived along with the wine were very much appreciated.
We came home very rested and really felt like we had had a holiday. We would definitely recommend and we hope to return.
We stayed in the cottage during the last week of June. We were given a warm welcome by Jenette and her family. She left us a fantastic welcome pack including wine, water and all the basics to start our holiday. The cottage is lovely - there is a double bedroom and bathroom on the ground floor and all the windows have mosquito netting so we were able to have plenty of fresh air without worrying about getting bitten. The bed linen and towels were fabulous - enormous white fluffy towels and crisp white sheets on the beds. The place was spotlessly clean. The kitchen is really well equipped and has absolutely everything you need. There is a huge farmhouse table plus English TV and excellent wifi. Upstairs is a double bedroom plus one other room with four single beds. There is also a bathroom upstairs with a huge shower which was great and plenty of hot water. The pool area is lovely with plenty of sun beds and umbrellas. There is also a patio area just outside the cottage which we used a lot, plus gardens with comfy chairs overlooking the cornfields. A lovely place to sit and enjoy a glass of rose or a pastis. There are chickens and ducks on site who were very entertaining and were always happy to have any leftover bits of salad. The area is lovely - very quiet, rural and peaceful but only a short drive to Eymet, Issigiac (our favourite - amazing Sunday market) and Bergerac. We also travelled further afield to see the caves at Ruffignac which are well worth a visit. I would definitely return and can highly recommend. Jenette is English speaking so was very helpful if we needed to know anything.
A PERFECT HIDEAWAY
A perfect hideaway, from the moment we arrived until the day we left Jennette the owner was a perfect host, we received a very warm welcome and she gave us the walk round and all the info we needed to begin which was a perfect holiday. Labarthe gites is simply idyllic, set back from the road between two villages, the closest only minutes away by car, perfectly placed for peace and quiet. Modern fixtures and fittings, with a traditional feel. The private pool is also perfect for cooling off in the summer, very safe for young and old alike. Ten out of ten and would not hesitate to return or indeed recommend to others . ENJOY!!!
