Aquodagnel is a beautiful farmhouse situated in the rolling hills of the Tarn countryside in South West France. Built in the 17th & 19th centuries its rustic charm blends with the newly renovated interior.

The combination of space, character and tranquillity makes Aquodagnel a perfect holiday destination for families or groups.

The interior is newly renovated; there are 6 bedrooms set across multiple floors, made up of 4 large doubles, (1 with step-free access and 1 with en-suite) plus 2 twin bedrooms. There are 4 bathrooms (3 family bathrooms plus 1 en-suite shower with double washbasin). The kitchen is large, with indoor dining space for 13, it is well-equipped with everything needed to cater for big groups. The kitchen has a double set of French doors leading out to the BBQ area and top lawn with views over the rolling rural countryside. The kitchen also leads out into a traditional Tarn archway where shelter from the sun can be taken in the day, or evening meals eaten al-fresco.

Aquodagnel has its own private pool, with sun-loungers and parasols, it is set within acres of private land giving ample space for gatherings of friends and family. There is plenty to do outside & inside with games, table tennis, TV + DVDs. There is also Free Wifi.

About Ben and Sally Blackden

Sally and Ben are the owners of Aquodagnel. We fell in love with the property back in 1998 and have been lucky enough to enjoy family holidays here for nearly 20 years. Together with our (now grown-up) children & some talented local tradespeople, we renovated Aquodagnel in 2012-'13 and were delighted to open the doors for rentals in 2014. We have an experienced House Manager and Grounds Manager in the local area to help ensure your stay is smooth & completely stress-free.

Notes on accommodation: For parties over 13 people please contact the owners as there is additional accommodation we can offer. Outside: Within the idyllic setting of Aquodagnel you can't help but switch off and relax. Within the 3 acres of private land there are many picturesque places to enjoy; from the archway, to the pool, to the glorious views from the lawns. We're sure there's ample appeal and space for everyone. The pool is approximately 5 x 10 meters and has an electronic cover for child safety when the pool is not in use. Depths are marked; 0.9m to 1.9m. There are sun loungers around the pool and outdoor games, including boules & table tennis, available. Utility Room: Washing machine, iron & ironing board, airer. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Good quality linen, bath & pool towels are provided. If you are staying at the house for 2 weeks or more, the house manager will come at the end of each week to change bed linen & towels. Additional cleaning can be arranged on request

Beautiful property in a great location.

We had a brilliant week at Aquodagnel. The house has been renovated beautifully, with a well-equipped kitchen, comfortable living rooms and bedrooms, and plenty of bathrooms. The location was ideal for us - great views for evening meals and space for children to play.

We experienced really good customer service from the owners, including sorting out a hornets' nest that we discovered on arrival. They were quick to act and that made a real difference to our holiday!

We had a fun time in the local area, including going wine tasting, kayaking and visiting local towns and restaurants. The house is very convenient from Toulouse airport.

I would definitely recommend this property to friends and family, in fact I already have!

This is a beautiful, spacious, comfortable, very prettily decorated house. We were five adults and six children (1 to 6 years) and plenty of space for communal eating and games or for quieter time. The house is very well set up and you can find everything you need. The rolling countryside around is stunning and, although there are roads around, you can't see or hear any of them! It is perfect for a really relaxing break. The pool was a welcome break from the heat wave the week we were there and gave the holiday a luxury feel to it. There are very pretty villages around for days / lunches out and a nearby swimming lake and outdoor swimming pool complex which is good fun. Highly recommended for all types of holiday.

Magical, tranquil, beautiful.

When we pulled up at Aquadagnel I couldn't believe our good fortune to be in this beautiful spot, surrounded by rolling hills and verdant countryside on all sides. The house itself is gorgeous, beautifully refurbished yet retaining all its charm, particularly seen in the old 'manger' that is now the grand kitchen leading out to the extensive garden with fruit trees laden with apricots, apples and plums. Our three children were in heaven, with a swing in a shady patch of trees, a perfect-sized pool and loads of space to explore, both indoors and out. The bathrooms were perfect, especially the walk-in wet room shower for after a swim, and the two receptions rooms were ideal for down time with a film for both adults and kids, or reading - Sally and Ben had loads of books and films on hand. We had the option of dining both inside and out and everything you could want was provided for, from tennis rackets to a table tennis table, from quality tableware to all you would need for cooking your own meals. Walking along the country road from the house at sundown, past hay fields and sunflowers, was a gift I shall savour.

Sublime Aquodagnel

A truly beautiful rural location set amongst fields of sunflowers with broad views across the rolling farmlands of the Tarn. A peaceful and relaxing location. The farmhouse had charm and personality and was well appointed. The pool was a good size, clean and well maintained In our view Aquodagnel exceeded its brochure description. There were some minor issues which needed attention during our stay but the local management service dealt with these promptly and efficiently. Local shops were a 10 minute drive away but some of our more energetic family members did cycle to the local bakery each morning! Albi (50 minutes drive) Toulouse Lautrec Gallery and Cathedral of Saint Cecilia. Cordes sur Ciel (40 minutes drive) a large 13th century hill top town is well worth a visit with its magnificent panoramic views, artisan shops and many restaurants however, eating dinner with local wine, watching the sun set at Aquodagnel cannot be beaten!

Perfect week!

Aquodagnel is a beautiful, spacious well furnished house with large garden and pool. On arrival we found everything immaculate, with good quality bedding, towels, kitchen equipment etc. the bath and shower rooms are recently refurbished with high quality fittings that work well too! We enjoyed the outdoor space for eating as the weather was lovely, and bread every morning from the village, delicious. Surrounding countryside and villages provided interest, as did a visit to Albi, highly recommended. We were a party of 8, plus one for a few days, and altho all adults I'm sure it would be good for children too. Quite a lot of stairs so not easy for the less able. I should imagine this would be a good holiday location at any time of the year.

There are many good restaurants nearby, two of our favourites : 1) ‘Ma Grand-mère s’appelait Suzanne’ is a delightful family owned restaurant, 10km from Aquodagnel. Set menu, reservation only, delicious food, pretty location overlooking the valleys. 2) ‘Auberge de la Pointe’ - high end French cuisine including catering for vegetarians, 25km from Aquodagnel in St Suplice.

Swimming pool: the safety cover must be used whenever the pool is not in use. This pool safety device does not replace the vigilance of a responsible adult. You agree to ensure adult supervision of children in and around the swimming pool area at all times
Defects: please report any defects or breakdowns in equipment to the house manager without delay
Liability: no liability accepted for loss or damage of your personal property
