Notes on accommodation: Whilst fitting out the barn we have tried very hard to make it the sort of place that we would like to stay in. We have included things which are important to us - like lovely sheets and towels and a stylish kitchen and bathroom (and no country cottage chinz!). However, as we will be neighbours, should you think of anything that you need you can just ask and we will do our best to sort it out for you. Having said that, we want our guests to feel the benefit of the the privacy & seclusion of Clough Wood, so we would absolutely leave you to our own devices, unless you need our help. Outside: Private woodland garden at the rear of the barn. Outside seating and BBQ. Guests are free to explore the 9 acres of woodland and stream. We also have 3 fields, which have a footpath running through them, up towards Thurstonland Village. Utility Room: A washing machine, pot sink and creel for drying clothes are all located in the underneath of the barn. Space available in chest freezer if required. Microwave, baby cups, high chair available if needed. Please ask when booking. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Egyptian cotton bedlinen and fluffy white towels are provided. Cleaning & fresh sheets & towels available if stay is more than one week. Other: Entrance lobby with antique bureau and comfy armchair. Row of hooks and plenty of space for wellies and walking boots.

Perfect holiday cottage

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned from a lovely 4 day break in this beautiful very well appointed cottage. There's plenty to do in the local area and nearby Holmfirth is a pretty Yorkshire village with plenty of places to eat and shop. If you are looking for an escape then don't hesitate to book this property.

Beautiful, clean, comfy and great location

  • 5 of 5

Had a really enjoyable weekend at the barn. Ordered a farm hamper which was in the barn on arrival (definitely recommended, all local delicious produce) Barn was lovely and clean on arrival and very well equipped with everything you need. Fire was lovely and cosy and heated the barn sufficiently. Amazing views out over the countryside. Some fantastic dog friendly pubs within 10 min drive. (Some probably closer) We didn't really get to use the garden as we had 4 days of rain!! But it was a great size and would be really lovely in the summer. Would definitely recommend for a peaceful and rural break.

Perfect mixture of cozy cottage &modern features

  • 5 of 5

We've just returned from a lovely relaxed 3 night family break for our wedding anniversary at the barn & it more than lived up to my admittedly high expectations.

The whole barn is a wonderful mix of cozy cottage retreat (idyllic views, log burning stove, traditional decor & county walks on the doorstep) & modern features like the dishwasher, DVD player, remote control velux window blinds, luxurious bathroom & wifi. A lot of thought has gone into making the barn & it definitely shows in the little touches throughout.

My favourite was the luxuriously deep bath endless hot water, shower head the size of a dinner plate & big fluffy towels. Perfect to relax in the bubbles with a glass of prosecco after a muddy walk with the family & dog.

The kitchen is well equipped with pans, cooking utensils, knives, fridge, kettle, oven/hob plus cups, cutlery & champagne flutes so feels like a home from home. I had no problems cooking for us all & then chucking the dirty dishes into the dishwasher before settling down on the sofa to watch a DVD from the modern collection.

The bed in the master bedroom was comfy with a lovely heavy duvet & fluffy pillows. There's plenty of room for your clothes & a hairdryer/extra blankets in the wardrobe should you need them.

Rebecca & Max were the prefect hosts - on hand to answer questions before & during our stay to make our trip run smoothly. We loved the gift basket of local treats/prosecco that Rebecca made as a present from my parents to make our stay special - I definitely recommend this add on if your celebrating.

Our little girl was catered for during our stay with the loan of a high chair & travel cot so we didn't need to pack these bulky items ourselves which was a thoughtful idea.

Thank you for making one mummy's dreams come true of being able to combine a fun family getaway with a romantic weekend with her husband :-)
