About Ivana Franceschi

I live in Dubrovnik, where I was born. I enjoy sports, specially running and free climbing. I love animals and nature and very often I go for a walk with my dogs. I enjoy cooking and there is nothing more inspiring for me, then to wake up early in the morning and go to the market to buy fresh groceries.

I am the owner of the company "Adventure Dalmatia", which offers tourists a way the spend their vacation exploring the beautiful coast of the Adriatic sea. We specialise in organising hiking, kayaking and biking tours.

Ivana Franceschi purchased this villa in 2006

Why Ivana Franceschi chose Brac

The island of Brac is the third largest island in Croatia. It is easily accessible from airport in Split. Ferry from the Split port takes only 50 minutes ride the the island.

Situated in the ethno village of Dol, villa provides the feeling of peaceful and relaxing place, away from traffic and city rush. Crystal clear sea, small beaches and Mediterranean landscape makes it ideal rest place for both body and soul.

What makes this villa unique

Dol village is located 2km from the sea and the town Postira. Villa Dol is 200 year old stone house, on the hill above the village of Dol.

It is a peaceful Mediterranean house with a magnificent view of the sea across the wine and olive fields of the charming village of Dol.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We have had three very happy stays at Villa Dol in the summers of 2010, 2011 and 2012 with our 2 children, now aged 6 and 4.

The house occupies a really beautiful spot on a raised location overlooking a valley dotted around with vineyards and olive groves, with the delightful old village of Dol a short walk away.

The house itself is clean and comfortable and very well-appointed with all 3 bedrooms of a good size and 2 bathrooms. There are very good facilities for eating outside, with a large 8 person table in the barbecue area and a smaller table in the shade of the trees in front of the house (with that great view) where we would eat all of our lunchtime and evening meals.

We really haven't a bad word to say about the house, unsurprising given that we have returned twice more since our first visit. The peace and beauty of the valley within which Dol sits, and its distance and yet closeness to the sea, makes it perfect for young families.

Wonderful, relaxing and beautiful

  • 5 of 5

We had the most wonderful time in this amazing villa! The views are spectacular, and it is the perfect place to relax. The village itself has 3 restaurants which we found to have the best food in Croatia (we were touring the Islands). Ivana, the host, is quick to respond and extremely helpful, and we would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting the perfect holiday getaway. Thanks Ivana!

A wonderfully relaxing spot

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful week's holiday at Villa Dol. The villa has a stunning view of the valley out to the sea. It is light, clean, well equipped and very comfortable. We particularly appreciated the evening sun around the pool. Sandra, a friend of the owner Ivana, who received us at the villa was extremely helpful and pleasant. A lovely terrace with view for lunches and a barbecue and "summer kitchen" terrace for dinner. Dol is a very quiet little village with one particularly good friendly restaurant Kastil Gospodnetic. Just a slightly hairy steep path up to the house and tight turning area for cars. I would recommend this property to friends.

Gorgeous villla with fantastic views!

  • 5 of 5

It was our first time in Croatia and it surpassed all expectations. The island was lovely, unspoilt, with stunning scenery and coastline.

The villa must be one of the nicest on the island. It is nestled in the hills in the tiny village of Dol. The views are stunning, looking over the valley with the sea in the distance. There are 3 restaurants within walking distance, although you are very much in the countryside.

The villa is very pretty, like an old Provence Farm House with blue shutters. It is very well equipped with all mod cons. There is a swimming pool and outdoor kitchen area. The owner couldn't be more helpful and arranged bike hire for us whilst there. We would thoroughly recommend it.

Exhausted family recharge in glorious surroundings

  • 5 of 5

From the moment we arrived at Villa Dol we all knew we had found a very special place for our family to start our Croatian holiday - our 11 and 13 year old daughters were with us.

The villa is gorgeous, all rooms are beautifully furnished and very comfortable. We chose to eat in most times as the kitchen is fully functional, the outside bbq area is great and once the food was ready the only decision was whether to eat on the terrace under the tree looking down through the valley or at the outdoor dining table sheltered at the side of the villa. We ate once at the nearby 'Kastel' - a lovely 20 minute walk away.

We used the kayaks moored in nearby Postira on a number of occasions and loved exploring the coastline. We also visited the monastery - recommended by the super friendly Sandra and Tanya who welcomed us to the villa - well worth the hike.

We were all rather exhausted from a very stressful 6 months but can honestly say that the beautiful villa, stunning

location and endless chatter of the crickets made us instantly relax.

The only downside to villa Dol was sayiing goodbye but our 19 year old daughter was not with us so we will have to return with her!!

Beautiful Villa Dol!

  • 5 of 5

Wow! We've just stayed a week at one of the most beautiful villas we've ever stayed in. We simply couldn't fault it, the location within the village was perfect, as were both the interior and exterier of Villa Dol. Myself, my wife and our 4 year old son had the time of our lives and could have spent the week never leaving the villa! It was so peaceful, the pool was perfect and a couple of locals told us it was the nicest property in the village...yes it certainly was. For those of you visiting the Island, Dol itself is a lovely old village and the find of the holiday was a stunning sandy beach about a 10 minute drive away called Lovrecina. Thanks so much Ivana, you've got a dream villa!

Perfect Croatian Retreat

  • 5 of 5

We had fallen for this property immediately just from the pictures on the listing and the reality did not disappoint. The house caters for up to 6 people and was probably too big for us but we knew straight away that this was where we wanted to spend our holiday.

Set on the hillside overlooking the village of Dol, Villa Dol is perfectly private. There is no passing traffic and the property is not overlooked in any area.

As there was only 2 of us, we only used the downstairs part of the house but the whole property is beautifully designed and it is obvious that the owner has put a lot of love and care into the layout.

A car is almost vital for getting around the island. The extremely fit might manage it on bicycles but the hills would make this a big effort. The villa is perfect for spending long days relaxing but it would be a crime not to get out and about in Brac; there are so many lovely towns and villages to see and swimming in crystal clear seas is an absolute must.

If we ever decide to return to Croatia (which I hope we do) Villa Dol will certainly be right at the top of our list for somewhere to stay.
