Luxury apartment, located in the centre of the pretty Austrian village of Viehhofen, close to Saalbach, Zell-am-see, Hinterglemm, Leogang & Fieberbrunn ski areas. Excellent ski bus service and new lift planned for 2018 connecting the village to Zell-am-see

This pretty old Water Mill (Alte Bachmuhle) is over 300 years old. The interior has been sympathetically renovated keeping the Austrian Traditional Charm but with all modern facilities. Comprising of:

Entrance into new kitchen with Fridge/freezer, hob, fan oven, microwave, dishwasher. Provide a full set of crockery, glasses, serving dishes, cutler, & cooking. Wooden table and seating for 6 people. Modern shower/WC. Spacious living room with feature fireplace incorporating a LCD flame effect fire.Flat screen Cable/Apple TV, DVD player, free wifi. 1 x Double sofa + smaller fold out bed, coffee table/storage box, 2 easy chairs, desk, hanging area, glazed door leading onto balcony. Master bedroom with Austrian double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, door leading onto balcony. Bedroom 2, 2 single beds, drawers, small hanging area. Lovely south facing balcony with lovely views of the surrounding mountains and village. comfortable outdoor seating and table and chairs. A useful additional area for Summer evenings which is protected by the Chalet roof overhang. For skiers in the Winter there is a Heated ski/boot room, also suitable for storing bikes and walking equipment and boots. Limited use of the Sauna & Laundry area. . One private parking space, gardens.

A short walk into the village where you will find all local amenities such as restaurants/bars, supermarket, ski/bike hire shops, nursery slope, ski school meeting place, tourist office, bank/24hrATM & ski bus stop to all ski areas. A new Gondola is being built in 2018 which will link Viehhofen to the Schmittenhoe ski area of Zell-am-see - watch this space !

I have loved skiing since school age over 50 years ago. I always loved Austria and would never of dreamed that I would be lucky enough to be able to own such a beautiful property in this Austrian Alps. Prior to Austria, I owned an apartment in the Alp Maritimes in France for for 5 years.Having made a home for myself in Austria now, I wouldn't swap it for anywhere else in Europe.

As well as Winter Sports activities this area is famous for Summer activities such as:- walking, hiking, mountain bike routes, tennis, Zip lining, quad biking, open air pools in Saalbach & much more. There are many 5* health Spa's in the area where you can just relax and be pampered, or simply just enjoy the wonderful fresh mountain air. Chalet Alte Bachmuhle is such a convenient and peaceful location to sample all these delights.

Notes on accommodation: There is a large south facing balcony which spans the full length of the apartment with access from the main living room and the master bedroom. Lovely outdoor area to have during the Summer season. Outside: There are communal gardens for guests to sit out or for children to play, unfenced so young children must be supervised as close to a quiet no-through road. Utility Room: Washing machine on request in locked laundry in the cellar. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Cleaning is charged extra, price on request, this includes duvets, pillows, bed linen. Other: There is a Sauna power shower, WC for guests use. During high season there may be some restrictions on usage, please enquire. Secure Ski/Boot/bike room in the Cellar, access from the outside via side steps.

Schönes Appartement im Tal von Saalbach Hinterglemm

Wir haben das Appartement eine Woche mit drei Personen und Hund genutzt. Es hat uns gut gefallen. Die Ausstattung ist umfangreich und vollständig. Es ist zu erkennen, dass sich die Eigner häufiger hier aufhalten. Ein schöne Überraschung war der Apple TV, so konnten wir Filme von unseren Apple Devices auf dem Fernseher abspielen. Von Viehhofen kommt man innerhalb von 10 Minuten mit dem Auto oder Skibus zur Talstation Vorderglemm. Aus dem Skigebiet gibt es eine direkte Abfahrt nach Viehhofen.

Im Ort hat uns das Restaurant "Alte Schmiede" sehr gut gefallen. Hier lohnt sich ein Besuch - wichtig: vorab reservieren.

2 x ski hire shops, 2nd mini-market at the ski school meeting place/Nursery slope. There are several good restaurants/bars in the village and several further afield on the mountain-side accessible by car subject to road conditions during the winter or you can ski to them on the way back home.
