About the property

Waterfront Holiday, 4 double bedrooms, 3 bathrooms overlooking tranquil waters.

The house is located in a peaceful waterside hamlet just outside the grounds of Mount Edgcumbe Estate. From here you can go for lovely walks or discover sandy beaches, safe waters or picturesque fishing villages which are all a short drive away. A comfortable and welcoming cottage which has a lot of original features such as sash windows,old beams, fireplaces for those cracklings fires, wooden shutters and beautiful window seats to gaze over the estuary or listen to the waves lapping on the shore. The rooms are large, spacious, light and airy. Arranged over three floors, there are amazing views over the bay from every room. There's a lot to see in the cottage as there is an abundance of colourful paintings, eclectic artwork and ceramics dotted all over the cottage which have been collected from many countries over the years. The fresh decor is calming with a few feature walls to introduce warmth and interest and the neutral carpet adds to the tranquillity of the cottage.

Life can be hectic and I travel a lot so it is always so nice to go to Harbourside House and relax with family and friends. There are fabulous walks, great pubs, stunning beaches to soothe and nourish the soul. I never want to leave but when I do I always feel relaxed and calm.

From the moment I got out of the car and filled my lungs with fresh Atlantic air and smelt the ozone coming off the sea I knew this was the place for me. It's a house where you can truly relax and recuperate. Listen to the lapping waves and witness the most amazing sunsets!

I love the fact that it is secluded and peaceful and the surroundings are so beautiful but yet it is a stones throw away from the city of Plymouth.

It is so versatile as I can go for walks nearby through forests,fields or by the coast or driving a short distance to picturesque fishing villages, soft, sandy beaches and cliff top roads as well as cosy pubs and fabulous restaurants.

Built in the 18th century this historic cottage has character and soul and is steeped in history. With possible links to Lord Nelson and Lady Hamilton to John Rudyard who built the wooden Eddystone lighthouse to the current Earl of Mount Edgcumbe. The house evokes images of bygone days and romantic liaisons and you can imagine yourself being transported to those times. If only walls could talk!

Notes on accommodation: Well behaved pets allowed! Strictly no smoking in the house. Outside: The front garden includes the shingle beach and lawn around the bay. There is a bench from where you can relax and watch the stunning sunsets. Outside the conservatory there are chairs and tables where weather permitting you can dine al fresco. Lack of light pollution means that you can see an array of stars on a clear night. Behind the conservatory there is a pond and gently sloping lawn which leads to the wisteria and vine pergola BBQ area. There is also a secluded garden and orchard with incredible views which. An be reached going up the steps from the back door. Utility Room: Dishwasher Washing machine Dryer Boiler Lots of storage space Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen are provided and changed weekly. The house is cleaned weekly. Other: Leading from the dining room the conservatory is perfect for sun downers,afternoon tea or just watching wildlife and nature do what it does best. Surrounded by lush foliage and a pond behind it feels like you are at one with nature.

Wonderful property

We had a lovely stay in this charming house which was well equipped with all you may need. The house had been beautifully decorated with a Christmas tree and stunning decorations which was a lovely surprise.

I would definitely recommend Harbourside House.

You can make a booking by completing a booking form found on the website below or by email or telephone.
Heating supplement of £40 applies between 1st October and 30 April.
30% of the rent to be paid at time of booking to secure the holiday and the remainder plus heating supplement ( if applicable) to be paid 6 weeks before the arrival date. If the booking is made less than 60 days from the start of the holiday then the full price must be paid.
£200 breakages deposit taken.

Changeover day is usually Saturday but please enquire if you wish a different day and we will try to accommodate your request subject to availability.
Check in time is 3pm onwards
