About Nick and Valerie Stubbs

We fell in love with the North Norfolk coast many years ago, and we have many happy memories of family holidays here with our children and dogs.

Whilst holidaying in a lovely bungalow in 2012, we got talking to the owner, and before long we were thinking how wonderful it would be to have a holiday home of our own up on this beautiful coast.

After much searching, we bought Oystercatchers in June 2013 and immediately began giving it our own 'stamp'.

We wanted to create a really peaceful retreat with a coastal theme throughout.

We hope to let Oystercatchers until we retire, when we will re-locate to live there ourselves.

Nick and Valerie Stubbs purchased this bungalow in 2013

Why Nick and Valerie Stubbs chose North Norfolk & Coast

We love the welcoming and lively atmosphere in Weybourne. We love sitting and watching the world go by at Bunteas, where we always get a warm greeting and lovely food. The excellent friendly local shop meets all our needs for general supplies and also provides tasty snacks and drinks. The service at the Ship Inn is always wonderful and it is no surprise that people travel miles for the delicious food.

We get a real mix of different people in the village, with visitors coming to Weybourne to birdwatch, walk the coastal path, enjoy a trip on the Poppy Line, walk their dogs, or enjoy the beach, as well as the friendly village residents create a vibrant atmosphere.

Oystercatchers has a wonderful homely atmosphere, and we love the bungalow's elevated location in the quiet street, with the beautiful view of the windmill.

Spacious, comfortable, well equipped and cosy. Well positioned for beach, walks and the steam train.

  • 5 of 5

We had a long weekend at Oystercatchers, with daughter, son in law and grandchildren aged 3 and 1. We had plenty of room without getting under each other's feet and found the bungalow cosy and welcoming. Loved the views across to the mill and enjoyed playing table tennis in the games room. Children loved the beach and the steam train was such a hit. Very impressed with the village shop and pub. A lovely stay.

Lovely bungalow, pretty village.

Oystercatchers is a dog friendly lovely Spacious bungalow in the quiet village of Weybourne. The local pub is dog friendly and their food is delicious, they also have lots of gin! You can walk the coastal road from Weybourne into Sheringham which is a pretty route. I Would recommend to others.

lovely bright cosy bungalow

  • 5 of 5

The bungalow was clean, comfortable, warm, cosy and very well equipped with everything you can think of. It is very conveniently placed for visiting all the local places of interest but far enough away to be peaceful and quiet. It has a lovely conservatory for the chillier days (of which we had a few!) and a lovely garden to sit out in weather permitting. Overall thoroughly recommended.

Excellent stay

  • 5 of 5

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Oystercatchers. Bungalow clean and well equipped and very spacious. Short walk to gastro pub, village shop and beach (pebbles). 15-20 min walk to heritage railway station. Drive into Sherrington 5-8mins. Neighbours chatty and friendly. Good off road parking for 2 cars.

All in all a 5 star stay. We'll be back!

Family holiday with young children

  • 5 of 5

The property was in a lovely village, with a good pub serving great food. The property was very clean well equipped. Plenty of information about local attractions and clear information about all equipment in the property. It was ideal for the three generations of our family with plenty of space, and we would all highly recommend this property and would definitely book it again when visiting this area.

What a great place to stay

  • 5 of 5

Oystercatchers was the best bungalow we have stayed in so far, it was well equipped and the beds so comfortable. The views from the bungalow were superb and the walks in Weybourne are lovely. We liked the special touch with the supply of biscuits and tea and coffee all ready on the dining table, thanks.
