Cottage in Cardiff, Wales - ideally situated, close to Cardiff City
This is a modern cottage with a traditional twist. Perfectly situated for easy access to the M4 motorway. There are many local historic places of interest as well as being very close to the city centre and beaches. Exceptionally well presented, with excellent fixtures and fittings- a real home from home. Lovely private terrace where you can on a good day watch the wildlife. Ample parking for at least two cars right outside the front door. Electric gated entrance to driveway.

Absolutely amazing cottage, we only stayed the weekend but hopefully in the future we'll go back for the week, so close to Cardiff too and surrounding area is beautiful.
Gorgeous cottage, lovely location
The owners are lovely and very welcoming and the cottage definitely has the wow factor. It is well equipped with everything we could possibly need and more!
We loved exploring the surrounding areas and having such a gorgeous cottage to come back to at the end of a busy day.
The location is ideal for travelling into Cardiff (20 minutes by car) with a local friendly pub and a restaurant within walking distance.
We were really sad to leave at the end of our holiday - hope to return soon.
This is by far the best property we have ever stayed at, nothing has been left to chance in this lovely cottage. Wendy is very friendly and helpful and her local knowledge is very welcome. Everywhere is within a few minutes drive. We will without doubt be rebooking this delightful cottage again.

This place is fantastic and the hospitality and welcome is truly beyond anywhere else I've experienced. I've holidayed in cottages, with the wife and family all over the UK for years, and this must be top of the list.
A very warm welcome from Wendy, and nothing any trouble during our stay. This is out second visit, we're already booked for the next trip, and we'll certainly be back again. A wonderful cottage, peaceful setting, and all the comforts we'd hope for.
Spacious, freshly aired, thoroughly clean, and well-appointed in every respect. I'd recommend it. And what a fantastic place Cardiff is, right on the doorstep with easy access from the cottage, minutes away to numerous attractions, cultural, sporting, historical, and shopping. Tidy.
Thanks Wendy, see you again soon.
Wonderful home-from-home in rural south Wales
If you are like us and want to stay in a property that has literally all of your home comforts but is in a complete different part of the world, then this lovely place is for you.
The property is situated down a narrow country lane which quickly takes you from a busy ring-road right out into the country-side, where it is incredibly quiet and the views are stunning.
There is ample secure parking in front of the property - the main house is gated which gives you even more peace of mind, and you will be given a key which has a fob that opens these gates to allow you to come and go as you please.
Upon arriving you will be greeted by the hosts, who are very friendly and approachable. We had no need to approach them during the stay as everything was absolutely tip-top, but we felt happy that if we had any queries that they would be answered quickly.
The property is a palace - lovely wooden furniture, an absolutely fantastic kitchen with every convenience you would ever want, a very high-spec shower-room with a double shower cubicle, and a bath in the second bedroom's ensuite.
The property is heated by a boiler in the kitchen and when it's chilly it only takes half an hour for the whole downstairs to become a very warm and comfortable place to watch TV or read.
This property is conveniently located only 10 minutes from the M4, for those coming across the Severn. It's only a five minute drive from a massive 24hr Tesco Extra/M&S superstore, and 15 minutes from Cardiff.
Places we went and would recommend:
- Cardiff Castle
- Cardiff Bay/Dr Who Experience (eat at Signor Valentino's - fantastic Italian food!)
- St Fagan's Museum (only £5 to park and free to get in)
Otherwise we spent our holiday being lazy, and the property encourages this - certainly not a bad thing if you are looking to have some proper downtime!!
The final point I'll make is on value-for-money. It's very likely that this lovely family cottage will come out cheaper than nearly anything else of the same quality in the area - it cannot be beaten.
Speaking personally, I would happily pay 10-20% more if the property were equipped with a DVD player, or had a SKY movies package on the main TV, which would make sense on those rainy days where you cannot leave the house. Also, providing towels to all visitors would be a nice touch.
In the grand scheme of things, though, there isn't any other holiday cottage in or around Cardiff that can hold a candle to this one.
Book it up, now!
Outstanding property and hosts
If you're looking to visit Cardiff, don't even think about booking a hotel - this has got to be the best place to stay. The finish and level of quality in the building, lay-out and furnishings is quite superb. Unfortunately we were only in the property for two nights, but that was enough for us to want to return and the make the most of such a wonderful getaway !! Wendy and Ian top the whole thing off by being 5 star hosts too !
