All beaches have blue flag status. Gently sloping beaches with crystal clear water; ideal for children. Numerous sheltered sandy coves can be found along coast line.

– Carregador Beach

This is a blue flag beach, which is the largest in the zone. Sandy beach with a lot going on during the season, plus the sailing school is situated there. There is good access for those with reduced mobility.

– Romana Beach

Separated by sand dunes from Carregador Beach, Romana Beach is a blue flag beach shaped like a shell. In summer there are beach football competitions, as well as pedalo hire and a children’s play area.

- Las Fuentes Beach

Las Fuentes (fountain) is joined onto the north of Alcossebre. Enticing beach with refreshing cold springs creating unusual formation in the sand. Mineral streams run directly out onto the Las Fuentes beach where wildlife and birds come to drink.

During the height of the summer Las Fuentes is home to various activities, such as volleyball, both day and night, trampolines and play areas for children and pedalo hire. There is also a lovely beach bar offering delicious tapas and cocktails.

– Moro Beach

Small beach nested between two rocky areas. This sandy beach gets its name from the large emerging rock close by of the same name.

- Tres Playas

These are three small coves that are interconnected, they have a mixture of sand and shingle.

- Mañetes or Tropicana Beach

Tropicana beach has more of a tropical feel and tends to be quiet. Another beautiful sandy beach with straw parasols and sun loungers.

About Julie Roodnat

Ronald is a freelance IT Developer working in banking and Julie a telephonist working for a large Hospital.. We have two daughters. Also a precious five year old granddaughter. Isabelle is on her third holiday to Casa Sara but this time with Grandma & Grandad. We really can't wait!

Julie Roodnat purchased this house in 2003

Why Julie Roodnat chose Costa Azahar

We purchased our holiday home after watching 'Place in the Sun in 2003. The programme featured Alcossebre situated at the Costa del Azahar (Orange Blossom Coast). We instantly booked flights and fell in love with Alcossebre, the rest is history. We named Casa Sara after Julie's Grandma as she was 90 the year we purchased. This is a very authentic part of Spain. There are no high-rise buildings here, this region is a conservation area. Beaches and coves are beautiful. Alcossebre is extremely family friendly with lots of children play areas. There are numerous delicious traditional tapas bars, restaurants and mouth watering homemade ice cream parlours also serving crepes & waffles truly scrumptious! All with stunning sea and mountain views! Alcossebre is also beautiful out of season when temperatures are not too high Ideal for hiking, cycling, walking, bird watching or stroll on the beach Tapas & sangrria, or just relaxi Nothing quite like a siesta!

What makes this house unique

Alcossebre is an extremely relaxing location we holiday here as much as possible. Also our family love to visit too. Casa Sara so very quiet safe environment. Beaches and coves are pristine. There are many walks suitable for all in the Sierra de Irta. Our favorite walk is to the lighthouse, when feeling energetic we take a picnic and bottle of wine into the mountains absolute bliss.

Our holiday home has everything you need for a very enjoyable comfortable stay the views and open airy feel make this a very special place to spend quality time. We hope you enjoy your holiday at Casa Sara as much as we do!

Erholsamer Urlaub für die ganze Familie.. perfekt!

  • 5 of 5

We were now the second time in Casa Sara. It was perfect as it was the first time. The house leaves nothing to be desired, everything you need, for a relaxing holiday. Also ideal for children ... our son learned to swim in the pool this year and discovered his new passion, diving :-), toys for the pool & beach, cool box, umbrellas for the day at the beach.

The area is also very well maintained, this time hardly neighbors because we had booked in June, very quiet.

We will certainly come back ...

Greetings from Vienna

Our family favourite! Superb!

  • 5 of 5

Julie the owner is superb to deal with! Nothing is too much trouble!!! The level of customer service is second to none!

This is our second visit to Casa Sara, we completely love it and have already booked to return next year. The house is spotlessly clean and really well maintained. We have stayed in many properties over the last 20 years and I have to say that Casa Sara is by far and away our favourite! It is so well equipped, there has obviously been a lot of thought and love put into the place, everything is of the highest quality and there are lots of thoughtful extra touches that made our stay that little bit more special! Our daughter loved the outside toy box so much that she nearly fell in head first with excitement! It also saved us a fortune in pool floats, water guns etc. that we planned to buy when we arrived. Thank you Julie, your efforts are greatly appreciated!

The house is located in a lovely corner plot and has a large terrace to the front, a roof terrace and also a lovely private terrace to the side overlooking the pool. The roof terrace has spectacular views of the mountains and we loved enjoying a glass of wine whilst watching the sun come down...bliss! It is lovely to be in a house instead of an apartment, it is very quiet, we slept really well and didn't hear another soul.

There are four lovely pools in each corner of the complex, shaded by palm trees and large banana plants. The grounds and pools are beautiful and very well kept. There is a toddler area in each of the pools, they perfect for children, both of our children learnt to swim whilst we were there. Despite visiting in the height of season the pool was always uncrowded, we quite often enjoyed an afternoon swim with the pool to ourselves!

Casa Sara is in a quiet location but within a 10 min walk of excellent restaurants, bars, supermarkets and stunning beaches. It offers the best of both worlds.

Alcossebre is an amazing resort, we love it and I don't think we will ever tire of it! It is a resort favoured by the Spanish with no high rise buildings and it has a lovely laid back and authentic Spanish feel. There are four beautiful Blue flag beaches backed by the stunning Siera D'Irta mountains. There is an amazing choice of restaurants which offer high quality food at very reasonable prices. We really loved El Pinar with its stunning views, amazing food and fabulous service. Pikapote is superb for tapas. Lots of culture in nearby historic towns of Peniscola and Morella.

Owner's Response: Hi Karen, Thank you so much for such a lovely review. As you have already booked your third holiday to Casa Sara for 2018 speaks volumes! We absolutely appreciate your booking. As Casa Sara is a very special home being Named after my 90 year old Grandma & my Mum planting The Bougainvillea when completed in 2005. Our home is very special to us and our holiday makers often reflected in reviews, emails & lovely postcards from children. Casa Sara simply isn't a soulless holiday let, but a beautifully furnished well maintained home, with lots of little extras. We are extremely grateful for all our booking and look after all our couples/families every step of the way. Look forward to welcoming you back next year A massive thank you Julie & Ronald Roodnat

Relaxing and nice

  • 4 of 5

Review of house: The house is very nice with plenty of space inside and out. It is clean and well-equipped. It is not perfect, but above average for sure. The negatives are too minor to mention, as the positives far outweigh. The house is within a 7-8 minute walk to a nice beach, as well as two better ones only 5 more minutes away. There is a very nice pool, but it cannot be used between 15-17.00 (example of a negative). At the time of our stay, an owner-made information book written in English was available with up-to-date information about the area, which was very much appreciated! As far as the house goes, there is no reason not to book the house!

Review of Alcossebre: Pay attention to the fact this area is not well-developed. There are a number of restaurants and a few large supermarkets, but not much else. For people who only want to go to the pool, beach, and restaurants (not a bad life) the place is great. However, if you need more stimulation, e.g., culture, entertainment, nightlife, other areas might be better. As far as local attractions, Peniscola was a very interesting place to visit.

Owner's Response: Hello Claudia, I would like to point out the swimming pools are absolutely NEVER closed I have also contacted the manager that looks after our complex, as I expected no closure. Did you misunderstand Pool closure when in fact notice is referring to Siesta times maybe? Siesta is respected as a quiet time and much appreciated as it is not only the Spanish that like tranquility. I am not sure that you researched Alcossebre advertised as a quiet seaside resort conservation area so no high rise! No we do not have night clubs etc! But we didn't say there are. Our website www.casasara.co.uk has extensive information. All beaches are pristine blue flag. As regards Alcossebre being not well developed, I'm unsure what this is supposed to mean! The majority of our booking are repeats. Kind regards, Julie

Second visit, still love it as much as last time

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Casa Sara exactly 2 years ago for a week (see previous review). In that review I said the only thing I'd change would be to stay for longer, well we've achieved that with a 3 week stay this time. I write this review at the end of week one, sat on the side terrace overlooking the pool with a bottle of wine, my wife and a couple of kids for company.

It's 9:30pm and still light, approximately 30 degrees and not a cloud to be seen anywhere. Some kids are still in the pool, laughing and having fun.

Casa Sara is exactly how we remembered it, spotlessly clean and well equipped and maintained.

Beds are superbly comfortable, and from the side terrace it's probably about 10 metres away from the pool.

The choice and quality of food in the area in exceptional. Also very reasonably priced. I reckon we could eat at a different restaurant in Alcossebre every day on our stay and still have loads to still explore on our next stay.

Peniscola and Morella are nearby really beautiful and interesting places to visit.

Julie is absolutely lovely and fabulous to deal with.

I can't recommend Casa Sara highly enough.

Owner's Response: Thank you Roger & Karen for such a lovely review, written from Casa Sara as you still have two weeks left and have already booked for next year! We of course feel extremely proud to recieve such wonderful reviews, it also makes all our hard work worth while! Of course once we have prepared for the new season you are left in the hands of Yvonne & Rob our totally fantastic managers. They keep Casa Sara in pristine condition just as we like it. I say it so many times but I will repeat myself again thank you for your booking, It really is appreciated. When we started renting in 2005, Ownersdirect had eight 2 bed properties for rent and now have absolutely dozens. Enjoy the rest of your holidays! A massive thanks, Julie

Great house facilities and location

  • 5 of 5

Me and my husband enjoyed our stay at CasaSara. A beautiful house with all modern appliances and really well equipped, it had every thing we needed for a weeks holiday and having two bathrooms was really useful.

There is a well kept garden and pool area which was nice and quiet while we were there and being on a corner plot there is a nice seating area to the front which was excellent for an early evening drink with sun going down. The house is just a short stroll from the excellent sandy beaches which are cleaned every night and there is plenty of choice of bars in restaurants in the town. The owners were helpful and have left a lot of information on things to do and places to see. We would highly recommend CasaSara and will definitely be returning.

A home away from home

  • 5 of 5

A very well equipped home away from home. Casa Sara has got everything that we needed for a weeks stay in Spain. A short stroll to the sea front and about a 10 minute walk to some typical Spanish restaurants to enjoy tapas. The complex is very well kept with mown grass and a clean swimming pool. Julie arranged for us to be collected from the airport by a very friendly local who was ready and waiting for us when we arrived and the welcome pack was a nice touch with an ice cold beer and a glass of wine awaiting us when we arrived.

We really couldn't fault our stay at Casa Sara.
