Cottage in Gulval, Penzance, Cornwall, England - Set In Peaceful Landscaped Gardens Of A Country Manor House. 5 Minutes Drive To Beach

This delightful dormer style cottage is set in the beautiful landscaped gardens of the 16th century Kenegie Manor House. The cottage is centrally located for all major attractions in West Cornwall - the stunning fishing town of St Ives with its white sandy beaches, quaint fisherman cottages and the Tate Gallery. You are only a few minutes drive to St Michaels Mount where at low tide you can walk across the cobbled causeway or hop aboard one of the ferry boats to get there. The gorgeous fishing port of Mousehole is also only a few minutes drive away and where visitors are always given a warm welcome. Or a 15 minute drive will take you to the world famous Lands End and Sennen Cove and the incredible outdoor Minack Theatre cut into the cliffs at Porthcurno.

About the Owner

Our names are Pat and Richard. Pat has lived in Cornwall for 22 years and Richard was born and bred in the town of St Just. We have owned 50 Old Court and have run it as a successful holiday cottage for 7 years. We think the cottage is in the most lovely location and is so peaceful and tranquil but is also so convenient for visiting the fabulous locations all around this wonderful part of Cornwall. We love our cottage and hope you will too.

furnishings very tired. Upstairs damp smelling and cramped.

Found the downstairs adequate, but furnishings tired and basic. Upstairs very gloomy as you could not see out. 2nd bedroom damp smelling. Sloping ceilings made it difficult to move around main bedroom and very difficult to use the toilet comfortably. Bathroom door opened directly onto top of stairs, therefore not very safe at night.

Brochure in lounge for the holiday park, of which the cottage was part, suggested a cheaper price than the one I paid.

Location

From the Owner

Its the perfect base for exploring West Cornwall whether you are a family looking for the excitement of a sun, sea and surf holiday or ramblers looking for stunning country and coastal walks. It has something for everyone.

Activity and Interests

Special interest holidays:

Our cottage is ideally placed for all the wonderful cornish coves and beaches with endless coastal and country walks. You can play golf, cycle, go horseriding, sail, surf and swim to your hearts content from some of the most stunning blue flag beaches and beautiful countryside West Cornwall has to offer.

West Cornwall has a historic mining heritage and a visit to Levant and Geevor mines are well worth a trip.

For art lovers there is of course the Tate Gallery and Barbara Hepworth Museum with Sculpture Garden in St Ives as well as the many art galleries in the town.

The world famous Minack Theatre, cut into the cliffs at Porthcurno is truly breathtaking but if you just want to sit back and relax, eat our homemade Cornish pasties or enjoy a delicious cornish cream tea then this is the place for you.

Facilities

From the Owner

We love the peace and quiet. We love that we are so near the beaches but in a Country setting too. We can sit outside on the patio enjoying a glass of wine with only the sound of the birds as company.
