The apartment sleeps 4 and is simply and thoughtfully furnished to a high standard. It is in a quiet location with Porthminster Beach and the centre of town both only 5 minutes walk away. The apartment has access through a shared area, with stairs to the apartment and an adjacent reserved parking space. To the side of the property adjoining the living area there is a west facing terrace with outside table and chairs, and a north facing balcony. There are views to Godrevy lighthouse from the living area and Juliette balcony. There are 2 luxury fully tiled bathrooms with heated towel rails.The kitchen is fully equipped and open plan to the living/dining area. There is a flat screen TV in lounge with DVD and video player and free Wifi. The bedrooms are a good size and would suit either a family or 2 couples. All bedding and bed linen are provided and the beds have comfortable mattresses. There is central heating through out and and constant hot water.

I am a book designer and my partner is a professional singer. We live in Wimbledon, UK. Having spent many summers in a comfortable family holiday house, I wanted to create an equally relaxing place for myself and my guests to holiday in. It has been fun to have our grandchildren and other members of our family come and enjoy the flat.

We found St Ives rather by chance and fell in love with it. it is a great place to come and escape from our busy city lives. We planned our apartment to be a relaxing, simple place to stay in, and hope that our guests enjoy its peace and quiet. We love St Ives for its remarkable beauty. The light that has attracted artists and craftsmen for hundreds of years; the friendliness of local people; the quality of local food; the relaxed atmosphere. We often travel here by train from London Paddington - a a wonderful journey - especially the memorable last leg along the sea's edge from St Erth to St Ives.

Activity and Interests

Car: recommended

Coast/Beach:

Porthminster Beach, a beautiful beach ideal for young families, is 5 minutes walk. Harbour Beach for boat trips and fishing is 10 minutes walk. Porthmeor Beach for surf, surf school and long stretches of sand is 10 to 15 minutes walk.

Travel:

Private parking space adjacent to the apartment building, although you don't need a car in St. Ives. St Ives train station is 10 minutes walk. Newquay airport is about 1 hour drive away.

Distances:

Tate St Ives is a 15 minute walk from the apartment.

There are many historic stately homes and gardens nearby to visit within a half-hour drive, as well as gorgeous beaches and cliff walks. The beautiful Lizard peninsula is a 40 minute drive away

Further Details:

The apartment is very handy, near to the centre of St Ives (5 minutes walk to Porthminster beach, 5 mins to nearest supermarket and 10 minutes to the harbour and centre of town), where there are many restaurants catering to all tastes and interesting galleries and shops.

Booking Notes:
Bookings made more than 6 weeks in advance require a 1/3 deposit plus booking fee. The balance plus extras is due 6 weeks before your holiday commences. Bookings made less than 6 weeks in advance require the full charge plus booking fee and extras. A non-refundable booking fee of £25 is payable on all bookings.

Changeover Day:
Saturday changeover day, arrive after 3pm and leave by 10am on day of departure. From November to Easter we can offer more flexibility and do short breaks usually starting on a Monday or Friday though do ask if you'd prefer to arrive on a different day.

Notes on prices:
Bookings Saturday to Saturday. Short breaks available out of season. Short breaks are charged as follows: 3 nights - 60% of week price, 4 nights - 70% of week price, 5 nights - 80% of week price

The apartment is very convenient, close to the centre of St Ives (5 minutes walk to Porthminster beach, 5 minutes drive to nearest supermarket and 10 minutes to the harbour and centre of town), yet in a quiet location with a dedicated parking space. It has lovely sea views and from the west facing terrace there are often beautiful sunsets to be seen. It is a great place to come and escape from busy city lives. We planned our apartment to be a relaxing simple place to stay in, and hope that our guests enjoy its peace and quiet. As it is located so close to shops, restaurants and great outdoor activities you can be quite ad hoc about planning your days.

  • Notes on accommodation: There is central heating through out and constant hot water. Private parking space next to the apartment building. Outside: The sunny west-facing terrace has a table, 4 chairs with pads and a parasol. Utility Room: There is not a separate utility room but there is a washer/dryer in the kitchen and a drying rack which can be put out on the terrace. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Linen and towels (from Jan 2016) are included and changed on a weekly basis. The property is cleaned on a weekly basis.
