About Gail Peters

We have owned Middle Barn for 14 years and used it for our personal enjoyment whilst following our interest in golf, walking, fishing, cycling, wildlife watching, photography and cooking.

Gail Peters purchased this cottage in 2001

Why Gail Peters chose Northumberland Coast

We love this area because it offers everything you could want. It combines the most beautiful countryside and coastline with lovely towns and villages and friendly people. There are a number of excellent pubs in the area which offer good ale & great food.

What makes this cottage unique

Our cottage is very well appointed and feels like home. It's the one place we get a good nights sleep. It's very cosy, relaxing and peaceful. We enjoy the beautiful countryside and its wildlife, friendly people and proximity to beach, countryside and historic attractions. We have many holidaymakers who love to return to Middle Barn.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Lovely relaxing break with my wife, her mam and dad and our pet dog Dougie. We were only a very short drive from some lovely beaches at newton by the sea and Beadnell... and some nice little pubs. The ship did a lovely pint and had a friendly atmosphere and we ate at the jolly fisherman at Crastet(crab sandwich was amazing!) both pubs welcoming us and our dog in :-) the area is stunning and would definitely reccommmend. The cottage was also lovely and allowed us to relax on an evening and even have a competitive game of scrabble. The place just had character and was ideal for our break. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend !

Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

Absolutely brilliant property, very comfortable, very well equipped and surprisingly spacious but most of all lovely and clean.

The location was great too, fairly central to most places and great beaches.

Will definitely use Middle Barn again.

Thank you to the owners and team for making our stay there just great.

Home away from home

  • 5 of 5

when you book any place you always want comfort and cleanliness, and it's exactly what we got. The perfect base for what we wanted - beaches and interesting places to visit. You felt at home, and wanted to look after the place, but didn't feel like you couldn't just get on with living and enjoying yourself. Thoughtfully left instructions about the cooker, and other appliances so there was no stress. we arrived as booked and felt at home. We probably were too lucky with the weather as we would have loved to have put the wood burner on. we would recommend this property to anyone. A great base, but somewhere you could spend time and be comfortable, and the dogs loved it, and there is an enclosed courtyard so they are safe. The property listing is what we got, property well maintained, and the owner was there if needed. Excellent

Well Equiped Cottage

  • 4 of 5

Middle Barn worked well for our long weekend. The kitchen is well equipped, the bedrooms comfortable and the courtyard was a lovely feature. It was good to have a proper cot for our son to sleep in.

The property was clean and well maintained. The owner responded very quickly to any queries I had and was very accommodating.

Fabulous property in great location

  • 5 of 5

Middle Barn is an extremely cosy and well equipped property which just makes for the perfect holiday whatever the season. There is a sheltered private courtyard which is lovely for breakfasts and lunches in the sunshine and BBQs in the evening in front of a log burning chiminea. But if it’s not warm enough to be outside the lounge is very comfortable with a log burning stove and TV with loads of channels & DVD player. The kitchen is a joy to cook in and is very well equipped. The cottage is in very good decorative order. The location is perfect for walking (especially with dogs!), visits to the beach (5 mins in the car), near to good pub food (Embleton and Newton) and we started our holiday with an on-line grocery order which was delivered as soon as we arrived. You are spoilt for choice where to go and what to do as Northumberland has so much to offer. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Middle Barn, we had a fantastic holiday.
