About the Owner
I come from a long line of Skopelitans and can trace my heritage on the island back for countless generations. I live in Skopelos Town with my wife, Maria, and child. As well as managing Potami House I work on the island as an electrician.

The property is absolutely gorgeous with an abundance of fruit and nut trees and herbs and of course olives. The house was exactly what we hoped for and the pool perfect. Spyros takes so much care and pride in and around the house and is evident in how immaculate everything is. He is also the most kind and generous host sharing his knowledge and introducing you to many local treats.

We have just returned from a two week holiday at Potami House and had the most fantastic time. The house and its grounds are truly stunning and exceeded our expectations. A beautiful property set in the most amazing area that allowed us to relax, but also explore this lovely island. Spyros looked after us so well and gave us help when we needed it. He has a wealth of knowledge about the island and was always prepared to answer our many questions! He gave us plums and figs as well as herbs from the grounds! The property was cleaned and maintained every four days so we were really well looked after. We would recommend this property without reservation, if you are looking for a relaxing holiday with views to match. We loved our visit to Glossa and our walks in the pine forests. A restaurant that we particularly liked was Perivoli in Skopelos Town - the food was excellent as was the wine. We rented a car, which is essential to reach Potami House from Skopelos Town, but also allowed us the freedom to explore this magical island and visit its many wonderful beaches. A truly lovely time in a house that we loved.
Peaceful, relaxing and very remote.
My wife and I stayed at this house for our honeymoon. After looking tirelessly on the internet for a property, in a hot place, with a pool and within our budget, I was pleasantly surprised by Potami house. The house itself was charming, not incredibly modern but a traditional, Grecian building, which is about 250 years old.
All of the rooms within the house were spacious, clean, tidy and well equipped. There is air-con in the bedroom which was very well received. The description said there was a DVD player but this was no where to be found. Although, with such beautiful views and surroundings, it wasn't really needed.
As you walk out of the front door of the house, you can see the pool which was very refreshing in such hot temperatures and 2 sun loungers which were used a lot during the week.
The views down the valley towards the sea were amazing and we had the opportunity to use the telescope one night, looking at the stars and moon. Spyros came to clean twice in the 7 days we were there, always leaving it squeaky clean. Spyros was very helpful during the week, with nearest supermarkets and restaurants. We visited two beaches while we were there; Panormos and Kastani. Both were really nice, with loungers available from various restaurants.
It was an amazing place to say, the best thing by far was how remote you felt in the middle of the valley, not hearing anything except the chirping of the crickets.
Potami House is one of those places that exceeds all expectations. The terraced gardens and pool are immaculately kept. Sitting on the loungers by the pool overlooking the view with drink in hand is now a treasured memory! The only sound to be heard is the gentle bleating of the goats in the valley below. There are several places to sit and drink/eat outside and the BBQ area is large and covered. The chapel, located near the entrance gates is well worth a look and the owner will open it for you when he comes to attend to the gardens. He and Eleni, his cleaner, operate a twice weekly service! Skopelos is not a big island so even though Potami House is not on the coast gorgeous Agnondas cove (with its wonderful fish restaurant) and bigger Paranormos beach are just minutes away. Skopelos town and port also not far - a scenic 20 minutes drive at most. Even Glossa, the furthest north you can drive (on a 'main' road) is an easy distance and well worth visiting for an evening at the wonderful Agnanti restaurant. I would recommend this place to anyone! But, of course, especially to those wanting peace and tranquility!! (With a view to die for!!).

From the Owner
“Potami House is a uniquely beautiful, secluded location which provides total privacy and deep quiet. By day the views are spectacular, and at night, with the scent of pine trees in the air, it is a wonderful place to lie back and let your mind wander across the stars. Potami House has been in my family for centuries. I remember visiting it as a child with my grandfather, long before Skopelos became a popular holiday destination. It has much resonance for me. Since then, the pool and terrace have greatly improved the house as a holiday residence, however in renovating it was important that it retained its authenticity and warmth as an old family property. It is a beautiful place for relaxation, calm and reflection.”
