relaxation at its best

The penthouse was beautiful. Every need was met. Maria is wonderful and very helpful. The views of the sea were breathtaking and the sounds of the waves are heard from your bedroom. A walk across the road leads you to the most beautiful beach. Clean, clear water, with beach bars dotted along. Walking to the local supermarket and restaurants took 10 minutes along the beach. My favourite restaurant was La Chara. Food was amazing. We miss it so much we have rebooked for June 17. Thank you Maria. We will see you in June :)

Fantastic villa just a stone throw from the sea.

The villa was beautiful and the pool was great. We were made to feel very welcome and we loved the area - very relaxed and very Spanish. The beach is literally one minute's walk away. I would definitely come to this part of Spain again. Thanks Maria. We loved our stay in your villa.

Superb holiday

We've just returned from 2 weeks staying in Maria's apartment and enjoyed every second, best place we have stayed for a long time and Maria is a very helpful hostess who was always happy to offer advice, book a restaurant, and just as important fix any issues quickly.

The descriptions and photos are all accurate, this is a very well equipped holiday home. The 15m pool is wonderful to swim in every morning and in July/August, temperature certainly wasn't an issue. And the location, as others have said, is great. 60 seconds down some steps to a very quiet beach with a gentle slope as you walk out into the sea, and just a few minutes walk to the village shops and restaurants.

Further afield, Puerto de Mazarron is a 10 minute drive and has bigger supermarkets and a good fish market. In the other direction, we can vouch for the quality of the fish in the Antipodas Tavern in La Azohia. A must visit if you stay here with a friendly (English speaking) welcome and great views out over the bay. Both of these are drives rather than walks though, you will need a car I think to stay here.

The only minor issue that I can think of at all is that in July/August the bedrooms were very hot at night, it probably needs A/C rather than just a fan. Despite that though I would recommend this as a place to stay to anyone! 5 stars without any doubt.

Superb,Host,Property,and Location

This is a luxury and wonderfully situated Penthouse with all the amenities described in the listing and more.It is a very big,clean,and well maintained with well stocked appliances with panoramic sea views even when the huge windows are closed.We stayed in the months May/June for 2 weeks and everything just fell into place for a perfect holiday..Maria the owner is a perfect host who speaks very good English she is always willing to help out,she is very cheerful and approachable if needed other than that there is complete privacy.The location of this property is fantastic we walked to the nearest supermarket every morning along the empty beach which when you walk out of the villa is about 20 METRES AWAY!!.Other shops and restaurants are close to the supermarket which is about 1km from the Pentouse,the lively resort of Puerto de Mazzaron is about 3kms along the coastal road.We have already recommended this listing to everyone we have spoken to and are planning to return in the near future.

Absolutely fabulous!

The listing was as described, location is good, we didn't have a car, we walked into Puerto de Mazarron a couple of days, caught a bus on the main road near to social club on RM-332 opposite children's play area to Cartagena, spent the day there and returned by bus dropping us off in Isla plana.

We also walked to La Azohia which is a far better walk along the shore front all of the way a couple of days. Fantastic restaurant there called Antipodas Tavern.

We used the restaurants locally in Isla plana, the best one we found was La Chara, best dish on their menu was the baked sea bass.

Very Clean and well maintained.

Excellent customer service.

I would definitely recommend this property to a friend or relative, Maria the owner is super, such a lovely host.

It would be a good idea for Maria the owner to supply a couple of bicycles.

The only difficulty was getting to and from the airport without paying extortionate prices in taxes. However we did manage to arrange our own private transportation at a cost of €50 each way.

Overall a fabulous holiday in a super holiday apartment, in lovely quiet location.

Isla Plana is a small town that has all kinds of shops, supermarket, hardware store, butcher, fishmonger, bakery, tobacconist, several restaurants, church, bars and a Neighbourhood Association which is a square with a bar overlooking the sea where they make festivals summer with bingo, musical groups and activities. From the house you can stroll along the beach to the centre of town is 7 minutes walk, there is a walk on the beach going to Azohía if you like cycling, walking or jogging.
