Air-conditioned throughout with underfloor heating for the colder months. A spacious 2-bedroomed apartment, spotlessly clean and with amazing views from the balcony. Large pool and smaller children's pool on site. Close to safe beaches. The apartment is very well equipped for up to six persons with a bed settee for 5th/6th persons (suitable for 2 children or 2 small adults). A well-equipped kitchen with microwave, oven and hob, fridge-freezer and dishwasher, plus a laundry area with washing machine and large sink. Great for families, a great getaway for couples, and with all the facilities and comfort needed for a longer stay. Relax on the balcony and watch the boats.

About Ann Page

Chris and I live in Shropshire and have 2 sons, one married, and two lovely granddaughters born in 2010 and 2013. We are both still working but get across to Spain whenever we can.

Why Ann Page chose San Javier

As soon as we saw where the apartment was being built, we decided that we had to have it for the views of the water and boats, and for the quiet and peaceful complex with a lovely pool. We bought off-plan in 2003 and have funished it for our own comfort throughout the year. Once you cross over the bridge to our part of the La Manga strip it is a different world, much quieter. The apartment is at the km 14 marker (as measured from the start of the La Manga Strip), with two or three restaurants/cafes within a short walk, depending on the time of year. A wide range of food, fresh fish and meat, plus fresh bread and pastries, is available at the supermarket just a couple of minutes' walk away. A bakery is open across the road from the week before Easter to September, where there is also a year-round pharmacy. A 20 minute walk (or short drive) takes you to a wide selection of restaurants and bars at the Marina, where there is also a Saturday market and a larger supermarket and other shops, with ferry services and bike hire. A local bus runs regularly. The local beaches are quiet with a beach cafe, and toilets and beach guard on the Mediterranean beach in high season. A car is not essential, but recommended for travelling to other beaches in the area which offer a wide range of water activities for all ages, plus commercial outlets, shops, and night-life.

What makes this apartment unique

We love waking up in the morning and seeing the boats pass by under our balcony on their way to and from the Mediterranean, and walking along the promenade to the lighthouse - a regular morning walk for us. And then stopping off at the Panaderia (local baker, open Easter to September) or the local cafe for a coffee. It is so peaceful and relaxing that we have to drag ourselves away to return to the UK! The choice of restaurants in the Marina is amazing. And the local supermarkets stock everything you could need.

Comments: From enquiry to booking of the apartment everything went extremely smoothly. Ann provided details of what to expect and the apartment's personalised website showed in great detail the facilities available. The apartment was very homely and fitted comfortably five adults. Beach chairs and mats are provided for you to take with you on your travels. The location of the apartment was fantastic, five minutes from the bus stop and a beach. The mud beach is about 10 minutes walk away and 20 minutes walk to the marina.



I loved the meet and greet service that Ann has, you're met by a lady called Jo who provides you with an overall of everything available in the local area and places to eat. The apartment has wifi, tv, stereo, books and DVDs so plenty to keep anyone entertained. Also there was no issue getting our security deposit back after we had returned



I had a truly enjoyable experience at this property and only hope I can return again as it was such good value for money. October 2013



Comments: Lovely apartment and stunning location between Mediterraean and Mar Menor seas. Ideal for walking and swimming.Great for relaxing holiday. Apartment very well appointed and comfortable with lovely view of marina and great for boat watching as boats go up and down waterway. Supermarket very close to apartment with a bigger one 15 minute walk away close to Thomas Maestre Marina.We hired a car for convenience although buses do seem to go up and down the Strip about hourly.We travelled by car to Los Nietos and travelled by train to Cartagena, which saved any hasse in parking car in Cartagena or negotiating city by car. Also enjoyed ferry to Santago de la Ribera.

Outside: The apartment is in a small complex which has a large shared unheated pool plus a small toddlers' pool in grassed surroundings. There is also a paddle-tennis court. Utility Room: Washing machine (1200rpm spin speed installed July 2014), large deep sink, ironing board and steam iron Cleaning / Towels / Linen : Bathroom towels and bed linen are included in the cost. Guests are requested to bring their own beach towels. The apartment is thoroughly cleaned between guests and the beds made ready by our local English-speaking manager/housekeeper.

Winter Fortnight at Mar Menor

A pleasant little apartment in an agreeable location with good facilities in the apatment - UK TV channels, sunny south westerly aspect for the sheltered balcony and generally relaible wifi (only one 4-5 hour outage by the local internet provider) and acceptable download speeds. The underfloor heating was excellent (essential even!) and made for a very comfortable stay. Good local walks and bars, restaurants and 2 well-stocked supermarkets in walking distance. Very acceptable for an out of season stay. We used the cafes but not the restaurants as we preferred to cook in the apartment.

A car is really essential (we had driven fromthe UK and had 3 weeks in Denia before this stay) and while in La Manga we visited Cartagena twice and Cabo de Palos more often - great fish restauatants and cafes with food cooked to order. It is the liveliest place on the strip and looks like the expat HQ with the large Mercadona supermarket and Aldis (open on Sundays).

If you like a quiet hoiday, without neigbours, and with sun compensating for the low temperatures this is a good option. The activity from the marina was sufficient to provide points of interest and the Spanish Air Force provided formation flying displays most days. There is obvious heritage in Cartagena and less obviously in the local lighthouses which were both worth visiting. Driving was interesting and the government tourist staff variable in their helpfulness.

Ann Page, in the UK and John P in La Manga were readily contactable and available but everthing went smoothly and although we traded e mails and texts for administrative things we

did not need to ask for any help as the website and written apartment guide/instructions covered everything satisfactorily.

All in all a pleasant holiday with good memories.

The Most Amazing Holiday

We've just come back from staying here for 9 nights and it was amazing. We have 2 young boys so wanted somewhere we could come back in an evening and put them to bed and enjoy dinner on the balcony.

The complex is easy to find and is quiet too, the pools were clean if anything the big pool was a little too deep for my 6-year-old, he can swim but the depth threw him off, the toddler pool was fun. Most days we spent down at the beach, which is 5 minutes away.

The apartment is impeccably clean and the air conditioning works a treat, we did find we didn't use it too much, as there was a nice breeze that comes down the canal. The apartment is equipped with everything you can think of, loads of plates and cups and so handy having a dishwasher and washing machine. Also, the wifi was a better service than we get at home!

The shutters are great, they really block out the sun and in doing so the boys slept in every day.

The view is the most wonderful thing about the apartment, we sat outside for breakfast every day and some evening meals just watching the boats coming in and seeing the sun set was perfect.

The supermarket is close by but closes over lunch for a few hours and on Sunday, which caught us out (as we didn't hire a car).

The bridge broke and stopped opening whilst we were there so didn't have to time trips across it. There are some great places to eat close by Mar & Mar, do a children's menu and there's a great choice of ice cream and there are some lovely places on the Marina which is 20 minutes walk away. There were some very good tapas lunch menus available and everyone is so welcoming of children and made a fuss of them.

We did have a few days of rain and watched the most amazing storm from the comfort of the bed one evening (as it was too wild to sit on the balcony).

I couldn't recommend this place enough for a family of 4, we've come back total relaxed and already planning our trip back!

Had a lovely relaxing holiday here. Used the local buses to explore the strip. Loved the walk to the marina with its lovely bars and restaurants. Wouldn't definitely holiday here again

at the far end of La Manga regular bus service you must get the ferry from the marine 5 euros and a lovely day out. Local restaurants great value.

Exceptional apartment

We've just returned from a week in the apartment. We've had a great time. The apartment is a great size, very well equipped, exceptionally clean and fantastic views from the balcony. The pool is a great size and the tennis court and grounds are very well maintained and clean. The owner and the couple that look after the apartment and keys were all very helpful. The location is great, a few bars and restaurants within walking distance. Beaches on both side of the peninsula are within 5 mins walk. We hired a car, not essential but useful for a day out to cartegena and trips to the harbour restaurants in the evening. Overall the apartment is great and represents exceptional value for money.

very relaxing, enjoyable and peaceful holiday

The apartment was lovely, it was immaculate, it had everything we needed and more it was spacious and very light and airy also loved the fact that all the rooms had a balcony, definitely want to rent it again felt so at home.

The views from the balcony were amazing and so much to watch on the busy waterway, loved it. Lovely location, for us it was perfect can't wait to return.

Booking Notes:
The charge for Meet and Greet and apartment preparation and cleaning will be included in the quotation. This is a one-off fee of £65 irrespective of the length of the booking. There is an additional charge of £10 per person, irrespective of length of booking, if the bed-settee is used for 5th/6th persons. All guests are met personally for the key handover, and this is included in the cost for all daytime arrivals. If your arrival is after 10pm but before midnight €25 is payable locally and if your arrival is after midnight €50 is payable locally.

Changeover Day:
Arrival time at apartment 3pm. Departure time from apartment 10am. If you have late flight, consider booking the additional day to have the use of the apartment until you leave for the airport. Or if you have an early flight, book from the previous day to arrive straight from the airport.

Notes on prices:
Bookings are taken to and from any day of the week, and for how many days you require - minimum 4 days. Longer bookings are accepted, and there are discounts for bookings over 2 weeks. Please note that the initial booking deposit of £100 is not refundable if a booking is cancelled. We advise all guests to take out adequate travel insurance.
