Beautiful 3 bed Stone House with amazing views of the Pyrenees. Large terrace, stunning swimming pool, glorious walks & bike trails

A comfortable, fully equipped property to suit either a family or a couple. The house has 3 generous double bedrooms, large open plan living area with all mod cons. Outside are two terraces with outdoor dining table and chairs plus a breakfast table and chairs. There are 6 beautiful rattan sun loungers and a very comfortable hammock. There is a large, vanishing edge swimming pool with a seating area at the shallow end. A barbeque is available for your use. The views of the Pyrenees from the front terrace and the house are stunning. A table tennis table and a table football are also available for your use. The house is situated in a wooded valley which has many beautiful walks. It is a very quiet area, slightly off the beaten track allowing for a very peaceful holiday. The nearest shops, including a boulangerie, are approx. 8 km away. A delightful restaurant is within walking distance. The glorious medieval Cité of Carcassonne is approx. 20 mins drive with many concerts and entertainment during the months of July and August and plenty of fabulous restaurants all year round.

When we bought the house it was in need of some attention so we set about renovating it and we are very pleased with the results. The house is a lovely family home and we have enjoyed many good times with our children and friends.

Relaxing, well equipped, highly recommended.

We had a wonderfully relaxing time at La Cave. It's extremely well equipped and comfortable, everything of the highest spec. The owners really seem to have thought of everything, and Niki's communication was friendly and helpful throughout. It's pretty much in the middle of no-where, a car is an absolute necessity, but it only took 20-30 minutes to drive to Carcassonne or Limoux for shopping. If you are looking to get away from it all, I can't think of anywhere better.

From the Owner

We bought the house as we loved the area. It is very rural France and not many locals speak English so we have to practice our French! The valley is very peaceful and at night the air is so lovely and clear you can see a sky full of stars. It is a fantastic area for wildlife lovers and also we are on a great route for cycling enthusiasts. The Cité of Carcassonne is, of course a wonderful place to visit. The 14th C. Citadel has been completely renovated and it is a living, working town. There are many other wonderful places to visit including Mirepoix, Ravel, La Grasse and the beaches at Narbonne. Andorra and Spain are both accessible from the house being only a couple of hours away. We are keen golfers so we take advantage of the superb golf course which is ten minutes away.

Nearest banks are in either Carcassonne or Limoux. There is a market in Limoux on a Friday and a big market in the new city of Carcassonne.

From the Owner

The house is only 15 minutes from the main A61 autoroute down to Spain. Carcassonne has the benefit of both the Citadel and the modern town of Carcassone with many restaurants and shops in both. It is possible to go on many walks in the area without having to go anywhere by car first. The nearby village of St Hilaire (8km away) has a couple of shops including a boulangerie so you don't need to travel into Carcassonne or Limoux in an emergency! There is even a little bar in St Hilaire if you would like to try a glass of the local Blanquette! Finally, for all you golfers there is a superb course just 10 mins away.
