About the Owner

Reston Mill Cottage has been the family holiday home for more than 25 years. I took over running the cottage from my parents in October 2014. Since then the cottage has had several updates & improvements. My husband Phil & I make many visits to Reston both to do regular maintenance and to enjoy the area on bikes & on foot.

Our principal interest is road cycling and enjoy riding the quiet lanes in the beautiful area south of Staveley and the challenge of climbing all the high passes.

We live in Staffordshire and run an internet based bespoke curtain & blind making business - we hope that you like our handiwork!

Cozy Cottage in quiet location

  • 4 of 5

I stayed here with my family of 4 at the end of September. The cottage was cozy and only a short bus trip to Bowness. The cottage had wifi which worked very well and a lovely coffee machine. We didn't use the outdoor space however with a BBQ available the ample sized garden would be perfect for a sunny summers day. Hopefully be back to try this out.

Perfect base for the Lakes and Fells

  • 5 of 5

We have just spent 4 nights in this cosy and comfortable cottage and would highly recommend it for anyone who loves walking, cycling or simply enjoying the great outdoors. It has excellent facilities for a relaxing holiday and is so well situated for access to the Lakes and beautiful Fells. Our 1 year old dog thought he was in heaven with all the new places to explore. Reston Mill Cottage is a perfect base.

A well looked after property in an ideal location

  • 4 of 5

The property was just the right size and was comfortable and clean. The kitchen is well equiped and the rooms are nice and bright with plenty of natural light. Good wifi connection. It is in an ideal location for easy access to many popular parts of the lakes and was easy to find with the detailed instructions provided. The enclosed garden was a good size for my 2 labradors who spent time everyday chasing the ball. The weather was really good with plenty of sunshine.l would certainly stay here again and would recommend the property to others

From the Owner

This is our 2nd home and we like to make it as homely and welcoming as possible. We provide almost everything that you would have in your own home, All of the furniture has recently been replaced & is of excellent quality & very comfortable. The central heating is powerful & warm and heats the cottage very quickly, even in the depths of winter. In addition to the central heating, there is an open fire with a plentiful supply of coal and hardwood logs.
