Overview

About the property

Cottage in Beachamwell, Nr Swaffham, North Norfolk, Norfolk, England - Peaceful Location, Views Of Private Woodlands. Unspoilt Walking & Cycling On Doorstep

Deep in the heart of Norfolk, less than two hours from London and within easy reach of the North Norfolk coast, this beautifully appointed holiday home is an ideal place to escape the hustle and bustle of a busy life. This property is self-contained and makes up half of this spacious barn-style building (the other side is not rented out but sometimes used by the owners). The cottage has a light-filled, well equipped kitchen and a large yet comfortable living room with a wood burning stove. Positioned in an oak wood planted by the owner's grandfather over 100 years ago you are free to venture and wander in the woodland. Only 5 miles from the market town of Swaffham and a few minutes drive to the beautiful Oxborough Hall, it is the perfect location to enjoy the very best of the English countryside.

About Sorrel Bradley

My grandmother was brought up in this area and my mother used to come here for all her holidays. All the family help with the upkeep and love spending time here.

Why Sorrel Bradley chose Breckland

This holiday home was built on land that has been in the family for generations. It was the plantation for the old estate and in the good old days it only had a small shed for the carpenter and his men to work. As a family we love coming to this spot and hope it will remain in the family for many generations to come. We love people to come and enjoy this peaceful locations with beautiful walks and surrounding countryside.

What makes this cottage unique

For us the best things are the space, the quiet, the wonderful walks straight out of the front door. For the children they love the climbing frame, the playhouse and the sunken trampoline. The coast is only half an hour away which makes it really easy to go on day trips and yet not have to cope with all the tourists that gather there. As a family we love the big open skies of Norfolk that you can see come rain or shine.

Lovely secluded holiday home but close enough to all attractions and the coast!

  • 5 of 5

Just returned from a lovely stay at this holiday home. Beautiful surroundings and woodland. Saw lots of wildlife from the gardens and the owners have provided more that enough items for a weeks stay. Thank you for the abundant store of towels blankets a toilet roll. They even installed a stairgate as our toddler is slightly obsessed by stairs! Couldn't recommend enough. An idylic country break

  • 5 of 5

We used this property as a base for visiting relatives and exploring our ancestry in East Anglia. The property was excellent, combining all the practical things one needs with an interesting interior layout and collection of art and books relevant to the location on the former Beachamwell Estate. We enjoyed breakfast watching the wild life - deer, hares and a diversity of birds. Electra popped by to see us and told of us of her connections to the Hall and a local man brought us files of information about Beachamwell and its people. Spot on for what we were looking for. We were also blessed by good weather, but that wouldn't have mattered as there was so much to do. This would be a good choice for a family with children.

Bright and airy; away from it all

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for 3 days. Well equipped, with two very big bathrooms. Loads of space. The upstairs is particularly spacious for a two bedroom property. Use of shared private woodland just outside. We saw deer and other wildlife feeding right outside in the mornings. We had a great time.
