This cottage, is quite lovely. We were met by Susan and Trevor and they informed us all about the surrounding area, and guided us to their information book in the cottage packed with lots to do in York and surrounding area.

The cottage, is like brand new, perfectly clean, beautiful rooms and a lovely little area to sit outside in the sunshine - and there was sunshine while we were there.

It has everything you could possibly need or want and Susan & Trevor were on hand for advice when needed.

Local bus into York only a few minutes away and quick to get us into town, unfortunately the last bus back is 6pm - but this is no reflection on the cottage.

Wee local pub up the road with friendly locals, we didn't eat there, but believe the food is good.

We were at the racing, it was a great location - away from busy town, and quiet and relaxing. Facilities were perfect, has everything.

Definitely going back.

A very warm welcome on arrival from Susan and Trevor, a lovely couple, for our second stay at 'BARNBROOK COTTAGE'. As before, it was perfect. No need to worry that you may have forgotten anything, Susan has provided everything. We managed to visit places that we hadn't seen before (Robin Hood's Bay, Aysgarth Falls, Hutton-Le-Hole) and had a beautiful sunny day 'At The Races' on the Knavesmere at York. We can Highly Recommend a stay at this 'Lovely' cottage to all and everyone who wishes to holiday in York and the surrounding area. PAT and BRIAN. BARNHAM, NORFOLK.

The very best of properties

  • 5 of 5

This property was magnificent, exceptionally clean and bright and although the lovely owners (Susan & Trevor) lived next door, very private. The cottage had everything that one could require and a small private courtyard to sit in the sun and read. Some good walks were close by and a bus stop to York was only 2 minutes from the door.

The cottage is situated only a few miles from York and is ideal spot to travel to places such as Whitby, Scarborough, Groathlands, Leeds, Ripon, Selby and the lovely villages of Beverley and Pockington that Susan suggested we visit.

Malham Tarn is a must visit place and easily reachable from Stillingfleet.

All in all this was a perfect stay. Thanks Susan & Trevor for your hospitality and the home made scones.
