This large Victorian house comfortably sleeps 10 people over four floors. It has a lovely, large open-plan living area split between lounge and games room. Board games, toys, books and an antique billiard table are all available for guests to use, as well as a large garden with terraced dining area and 12ft trampoline. The property has 3 x kingsize bedrooms, a twin/double room and bunk room. The ground floor has a shower room with WC, there are separate WCs on the 1st and 2nd floors and a bath/shower/WC on the 2nd floor. The kitchen/breakfast room is on the ground floor and has informal seating for 4 people plus a more formal dining area for up to 10.

Stunning house in great location

We had a lovely stay over New Year - the house more than met our space needs of three couples and four young children.

The house is very well appointed and equipped - we wanted for nothing. The beds and bedding all top quality and place was immaculate when we arrived.

Owner Marc a pleasure to deal with, even having the patience to return some property which we left there.

I'd recommend this house to anyone - I think it works really well for family and friends get togethers.

Fabulous, chic and spacious

A beautiful property, super-clean, smart linen and furniture and filled with wonderful eclectic design objects giving it a modern and fun feel in an old house. Powerful heating system and power showers too. Thoughtful touches too like a very well equipped kitchen, night lights for kids, tons of books and dvd's on hand.

Beautiful sea views from the bay window, an amazing garden with a vast trampoline that the kids loved and so much space. Kids were impressed with bountiful toy cupboards too. Walking distance to the sea (though tough on the thighs with quite a hill!), Ventnor has all the amenities - some great restaurants, a fab butcher, supermarket, smart tea shops etc.

The view from the back is onto hills filled with trees - quite stunning. You get some exercise too running up and down the 4 floors.

We also discovered the Ventnor Arts Club which offers visitor membership - giving you access to live music, films and a private bar.

We hope to be back at Cressingham very soon.

Nearest Barpub : crab and lobster at 0.4 Kilometres


15 minute walk to the beach, 5 minute drive. Parking at both ends of the esplanade. Taxi from beach back to house £5 maximum.


20 minute drive from Fishbourne. Cross from mainland via Redfunnel ferries from Southampton (1 hour trip) or Wightlink from Portsmouth (40 mins).


To cross to the furthest point of the island from Ventnor takes around 40 minutes. Newport is the nearest town which is a 20 minute drive, Shanklin and Sandown are approximately 15-20 mins.

  • Notes on accommodation: Unfortunately pets are not accepted. Outside: To the front is off street parking for 2 cars. To the rear is a large garden with raised beds and tiered paved patio area with seating for 4 people at house level and a further 8 people on the first tier of the patio. The second tier is laid predominantly to grass leading to a 12ft trampoline. Beyond the garden is a public footpath leading at the bottom of the National Trust Downs where cows and sheep are allowed to graze in the winter/spring months. Utility Room: Washing Machine Iron Ironing Board Clothes airer Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and Linen included, property cleaned prior to arrival and at end of stay. Change of towels and linen supplied for longer bookings.
