This is definitely a delightful self contained unit. Walking distance to all that you might need in Ilkley a welcoming and friendly host. Facilities in the accommodation excellent. My first visit to Ilkley and it was wonderful. Would certainly recommend to others.

Just got back from a great holiday!

This compact, but perfectly formed, flat was the perfect place for us to spend a week in Ilkley. It had everything we needed as well as a few extra nice touches such as Laura Ashley towels, fresh flowers and a freshly baked cake. The flat was absolutely spotless - I think Judith genuinely cares for her guests and regularly goes above and beyond to ensure the flat is as comfortable as possible. And, although the flat is located in the lower ground floor of the owners' property, we were able to enjoy our holiday in privacy and we only saw Judith as we arrived and departed (although we knew we could contact her if we needed anything).

In terms of location, the flat's just a ten minute walk from the town centre and we often walked via the park by the river - perfect for the dog. Ilkley itself is great. We had plenty of pubs, cafes and quality food shops to keep us amused and well fed for the week and I particularly recommend Friends of Ham, The Flying Duck, Lishman's butchers, Ramus fishmongers and Asquith's grocers. Everyone we met was friendly and helpful and we (and our dog) felt welcome everywhere we went. Ilkley's also great for anyone wanting to explore Yorkshire and we enjoyed trips to Hawes, Grassington, Haworth and Hebden Bridge.

I'd recommend this flat to anyone wanting a comfortable base in Ilkley and I hope that we can return one day.

Always a Pleasure to Visit The Firs Apartment, Ilkley

Our second visit to the apartment and an absolute delight to meet Judith again and stay in this gorgeous home from home. It is perfectly located for walking into Ilkley, which has a FAB choice of shops/restaurants/bars, etc., plus a bus stop almost outside the apartment for the bus into Harrogate/Skipton. Mustn't forget train station within easy walking distance for trips to Leeds. Apartment is equipped with everything you'd wish for, pretty decor, plenty of hot water for shower and much more. Excellent night's sleep in a comfy bed. Really didn't want to leave😢򘠡

We certainly hope for a third visit in the not too distant future to the apartment and Ilkley.

Excellent!

We stayed at The Firs Garden Apartment in July 2016 and cannot recommend it highly enough! It was perfect, extremely clean and comfortable and very handy for Ilkley. We would definitely stay there again. The owner was very nice and helpful and provided very nice cake too!

On the west coast, Morcambe is about a 90 minute drive away.

Scarborough and Filey on the east coast are approximately a 2 hour drive from the apartment.

Travel:

Car not necessary. Ilkley railway station is approximately 12 minutes' walk from the apartment. Nearest bus stop 15 metres. Leeds/Bradford airport 15km.

Distances:

Easy, level stroll into Ilkley town centre.

Approximate journey times: Skipton 8km, Bolton Abbey 5km, Harrogate 15km, Leeds 15km, Saltaire 15km, Burnsall 10km, Malham 20km, Bronte country 10km

The apartment is ideally located in Ilkley, within easy walking distance of the town centre. The nearest "supermarket" (Morrison's Local) is only a 5 minute walk away.

Ilkley is situated in Wharfedale, Yorkshire and is accessible to the cosmopolitan city of Leeds via train and bus links, as well as being just a short drive from the unrivalled countryside of the Yorkshire Dales National Park

The town offers a wide selection of cafés, bars and restaurants, including the famous "Bettys Tea Rooms", situated on the stylish Grove shopping parade. Take a stroll around the town and enjoy the wide selection of independent shops selling gifts, clothes and books.

Explore the beautiful countryside in and around Ilkley, with walks along the famous Ilkley Moor or by the river Wharfe and beyond - the Dales Way walk begins little more than a stone's throw away from the apartment.

Visit the town's Manor House Museum and learn about its history, from its Roman beginnings to its Victorian Spa town heritage.

Ilkley hosts a number of exhibitions and festivals throughout the year including the renowned Literature Festival (4th-20th October 2013) and the Summer Festival in August. On Saturday 5th July 2014, the world famous Tour de France cycling race will pass through the town.
