Bob and Angela would like to extend a warm welcome to Buckton House Holiday Cottages.

We have lived in the area for nearly 10 years and enjoyed our time here immensely having moved from a busy urban area. With our children having flown the nest we decided a new project would be exciting and made the move to Buckton.

Buckton is an excellent retreat from the hussle and bussle of every day life with its rural location and its locality to local amenities and attractions.

Superb Country Cottages

The cottage exceeded our expectations on all counts. Exceptionally quiet and rural location within a 3 mile drive to Bridlington. Walks to the Bempton Cliffs are on the doorstep. Regular buses run from the bus stop just outside and the quaint train station is 800 yards away. Public transport is available to all the major attractions on the coast and inland.

We were met on arrival by our hosts Angela & Bob who showed us around the cottage. They presented us with a "starter pack" consisting of milk, half a dozen free range eggs from their own chicken coup, fruit and biscuits, plus a bottle of wine. It felt like home immediately.

Internally, the decor and furnishings were fitted to an extremely high standard. In the living area was a two seater leather/reclining settee with a Sandstrom 32 inch TV with DVD player. There was a dining table just for two as well as a breakfast bar looking onto the kitchen, comprising Whirlpool appliances and all the cooking utensils you could possibly need.

The bedroom housed the largest King Size bed we'd ever slept in. Wardrobe space was plentiful with an additional 3 deep drawers for storage.

The Bathroom was state of the art, containing a shower bath and thermostatic overhead rainshower, a basin and vanity unit, back to wall WC, heated towel rail and a mirror/shaver socket with infra red switch. A plentiful supply of luxurious towels.

All the rooms were heated with modern electric radiators and there was Wi-Fi readily available as well as an iPod docking station. A variety of DVD's were also available.

Outside was laid to lawn with a rock pond as a central feature. The view from the Double glazed French Doors was across the fields to the distant railway line. A swing seat was also provided for those lazy summer evenings we enjoyed outside.

We could even take our small dog with us and he loved the outside area, running around, chasing his ball in a totally safe environment.

Finally, our hosts. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Totally relaxed and engaging people who obviously have customer care high on their agenda.

All in all 10 out of 10. Couldn't fault anything. We will be back.

Buckton retreat

What a lovely find, tucked away close to the coast of Flamborough Head

Home from home, five star accommodation everything you need and more, Bob and Angela are the perfect host.

The super king size bed with first class comforts gave us a rest to recharge our batteries, lovely to wake in the mornings to the sound of birds, the peace and quiet were priceless. Thank you very much Bob and Angela.

A wonderful retreat

This is a truly amazing cottage, we arrived on the Sunday and from the moment we walked in we felt totally relaxed. The owners, Bob and Angela were extremely friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The furnishings are 5 star, there is no need to take anything apart from your food as there is everything you could possibly need and more. a real home from home luxury. We have already booked for next year and looking forward to having freshly laid eggs again from the hens !

A perfect bolt hole in a beautiful place

I was looking for a place to stay for a fortnight with my dog and was in great need of a quiet, well equipped, private place. It was a 'wow' moment when I was shown round by Bob. A lot of thought has been put into designing and decorating the cottage. The 'welcome pack' of a bottle of wine, free range eggs from their chickens, biscuits, tea, coffee, milk and toiletries were a lovely touch. I was Buckton House Holiday Cottages first guest and whilst I enjoyed the 'brand new' feeling, I am in no doubt that if I was staying there in 6 months or 6 years time, the standard would still be at the same high level. Bob, Angie and Ross were perfect hosts; there when needed, checking quietly in the background that everything was as I wanted and needed. I enjoyed it so much that I stayed for a third week!!!

We are near to the end (or the beginning, depending on how you look at it) for the cycle route 'The Way of the Roses'. (bike store available)

We are 30miles from some of the best walking and cycle trails in the region at Dalby Forest.
