Overview

About the property

Villa in Salobrena, Costa Tropical, Spain - Truly Stunning Views From This Tranquil Location. Has Steps Down To The Rocky Seashore Below

This delightful traditional Andalucian villa has been extensively modernised whilst retaining the original timber beams, doors, windows etc and the weathered, but particularly attractive, terracotta floors. Leading off the spacious sitting-room is a 40m2 terrace with fabulous views south to the sea and all along the coast to the east and west. This terrace has a retractable awning, making it a natural extension of the living area and at one end there is a spacious covered outdoor dining area. Near to this terrace is the small (3mx2m), heated spa pool with 6 spa jets, a great place to relax and take in the fabulous views over the sea to Salobrena castle. Open sea views are available from every room, even whilst lying in the bath, and from the main indoor and outdoor living areas one has the feeling of being on a boat. Sometimes dolphins can be seen playing in the sea below. The water is usually clear and, from the terraces, on a calm day it is possible to see the many fish in the sea below. Also the birdlife is fun to watch, and as well as those pesky gulls we see cormorants, herons, terns, gannets, kestrels, wheatears, swallows, swifts, blue rock thrushes a many others.

Note: as there are 2 bedrooms this villa could accommodate more than two people but as we wish to keep the wear and tear down to a minimum Las Rocas is offered for maximum occupation by two people. It really is just perfect for a couple wanting to relax and enjoy the true tranquility of this fabulous location. No traffic or other noise, just the sound of the waves and sea birds!

About Mike Lingwood

We have lived in the area for more than 25 years and will usually be on hand to personally help with any issues that may occur during your stay. When we are away on holiday ourselves a friend who also lives nearby will do the same.

Why Mike Lingwood chose Costa Tropical & Lecrin Valley

We have lived in the area since 1988 and for much of that time we were the most active local estate agents so we know most of the nicer properties here. This one is truly delightful, especially the location, and we had been trying to persuade the previous owners to sell it to us for many years. When they finally agreed to sell it to us in 2011 we were thrilled! We live in it ourselves for much of the year but when we are elsewhere we are happy to offer it for holiday rental.

What makes this villa unique

The photos are pretty self explanatory except for not being able to convey the amazing tranquility of the place with only the noise of the sea and sea birds to be heard plus just the occasional passing fishing boat! And it is very private.

Perfect for a truly relaxing break from the stresses of modern living.

Perfection!

  • 5 of 5

We had a fabulous 7 night stay at Los Rocas, it is fully furnished and equipped to the highest standard - with everything you could possibly need for a holiday self-catering is there. The view is out of this world and the sea breeze, plunge pool and air-con are a welcome retreat from the hot Spanish sun. There was lots of information available on the area and the villa, but I would say a car is essential. I honestly couldn't fault this holiday accommodation and would go as far as to say it is the best equipped and furnished I have ever stayed in, it feels more like a home than a rented property and you can see as you look around that Mike and his family still love this villa. Thanks again and we hope to come back some day!

2 weeks at La Rocas

  • 5 of 5

La Rocas is in a fabulous location just above the sea and with incredible views. It is well equipped with every conceivable amenity and has a superb BBQ. It is well maintained. The area is typically Spanish and we enjoyed trips to the mountains as well as the coast. We eat out in numerous restaurants where the food was inexpensive and delicious. I would recommend this villa to friends and family and would defiantly love to return one day.

Further Details:

KINDLY NOTE: This villa is situated on the edge of a rocky hillside with potential dangers for lively young children doing what children normally do and also for the elderly or anyone else not agile and sure footed with a good sense of balance. There are rough steps down to the rocks and sea below but only for the use of people who are agile, sure footed and with a good sense of balance who are not under the influence of alcohol and are wearing suitable footwear such as grippy trainers. Also the barriers at the edge of the terraces are minimal to avoid disturbing the fabulous views. On calm days It is possible to swim in the sea from the rocks below but only for strong swimmers who take full responsibility for themselves. For these reasons this villa is generally only available to responsible adults between the ages of 18 and 70 who agree to take full responsibility for their own welfare whilst occupying the property. Having said this we, the owners, are both in our mid sixties and feel entirely comfortable being there and also when scrambling around on the rocks below.
