Farmhouse in San Severino Marche, Macerata Province, Le Marche, Italy - Peaceful Location In Attractive Countryside 10 Minutes Drive To Historic Market Town

Casa delle Rose is one of two adjoining properties created from a traditional farmhouse in 2004. It has its own private garden with pool, orchard, and two sunny terraces, one of which is shaded by a pergola. Its large gravelled courtyard is shared with the second property, which also has its separate private garden with pool, and is also available for rental (sleeps 10) upon enquiry. It is in an elevated position with extensive views over typical Italian countryside. It is accessed by a 'white road' which winds up from the superstrada in the valley bottom through attractive fields and woods. A large village is 5 mins drive, with the historic market town of San Severino Marche being 10 mins drive.

The coast is approximately 1 hours drive with beaches ranging from long straight stretches in Porto Recanati, Civitanova Marche, and Senigallia to coves with restaurants in Portonovo and Sirolo at the foot of Monte Conero


The nearest airport is Ancona which has direct flights to Stansted, and is approximately 50 mins drive. Other airports are at Perugia (2 hrs), Bologna (3 hrs), Rome (3hrs), and Pisa and Venice (4 hrs). If driving from Northern Europe, Milan is approximately 5 hrs. The use of a car is essential


The village of Cesolo is 5 mins drive, and San Severino 10mins. The University towns of Camerino and Macerata are both approximately 30 mins drive. The Appenine mountains are 45 mins and the coast is 1hr, with many historic towns and places of interest between the two. Beyond the mountains is the famous town of Assisi, about 90 mins drive

Cesolo has a well stocked general store, butchers, bar, and other specialist shops. San Severino is a gem of a historic market town, with a medieval hilltop sector, and a 18th/19th century town centre with large piazza with a selection of bars, etc. It was an important Roman settlement being on the salt road from Rome to the Adriatic, and there are significant Roman remains both in situ and in the archaeological museum. It has two cathedrals and many other churches and historic buildings, a theatre, a public art gallery. a wide range of shops, supermarkets, banks and bars for all tastes, and six very good restaurants/trattorie providing traditional and modern cooking styles (one specialising in fish delivered daily from the coast). The town also has a railway station with a regular service between the coast and the mountains. A little further afield and approximately 20 mins drive towards Ancona is the town of Cingoli, a similar sized town to San Severino, but with an entirely different character being a mountain town with long range views towards the Adriatic, It also has a wide range of facilities, including several restaurants, along with a large lake accommodating water based activities ( beach, boating, fishing, etc ). The famous open air opera house at Macerata is approximately 30 mins drive. Other places of interest include the famous cave system at Frassasi, and Fiastra Abbey, and archaeological remains of a roman town at Urbisaglia. The region of Marche surrounding the property is renowned for having everything good Italy has to offer within a comparatively small area, including numerous festivals during summer months.
