The Little Barn

The Little Barn is clad in traditional white weatherboard. The barn which in total has a footprint of 68m2 has an open plan central space with a wonderful vaulted ceiling with a sitting area around the wood fired stove, with a HD TV, Blu-ray DVD player, stereo and wireless broadband. The two bedrooms are accessed off this central space. One bedroom has a King Sized double bed with organic mattress and ensuite bathroom with a shower. The other bedroom has two single beds with organic mattresses which we can zip together to form a Super King double bed, and a bathroom with a bath and shower combined.

The kitchen has everything you need to cook some good meals (and what isn’t there we will have so just shout!), dishwasher, fridge freezer and washing machine.

You’ll be welcomed by homemade cake, cooked with organic ingredients of course, and a number of hints and tips about the surroundings to help kick start your holiday in this wonderful area on the south coast.

About the property

The three barns are at Stone Cum Ebony, a secluded hamlet between Rye and Tenterden. Two barns sleep four and one barn sleep six and were converted in 2013. Restoring the barns we have aimed for a light, informal and relaxing approach. The style is a mix of modern and old, flooring is oak, coir and painted floors, grey, blues and naturals. The barns, which are heated by our wood chip boiler and use 100% renewable electricity, are part of the Grade II listed farmyard and has amazing views. Each barn has a wood fired stove, stereo, HD TV and wifi. We're in the middle of the countryside here and the views are spectacular, yet its only six miles to Rye or Tenterden, two lovely small towns. Our web site is www.oxneyestate.com. Go to the holiday cottages tab to look at further photos and to book.

A perfect break

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful well kept property in peaceful setting. House had everything we needed. Easy access to many places of interest and attractive villages. Host very kind and helpful. Replaced a lightbulb during our stay to make things just right. Have gone to a lot of effort to make a very pleasant and comfortable holiday let.

Owner's Response: Thanks for lovely comments Rachel. It was great to have you and your family here for Christmas. Really good to hear your comments on The Little Barn - we have as you say tried hard to make it a place you can relax and get away from it all. Thanks again! Kristin

Beautiful Location

  • 5 of 5

This an amazing location and the accommodation modern, clean and very comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed the Brownies and apple juice supplied by Kristin. If you need anything, all you need to do is ask. 15 mins. to Tenterden along narrow country lanes. Good location to visit many places. Ferry Inn has great food as do restaurants in town. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Absolutely beautiful!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in The Little Barn and it....is.....amazing! The setting is a beautiful rural location and there is a lot to do in the area. I also recommend The Ferry Inn as another reviewer has noted, they have some pretty darn good food there. The property had everything we needed and there were even brownies and home made apple juice for us upon our arrival.

The best ever.

We have been here several times and we have booked again. Beautiful rural location with amazing views.Lots to see and do in the area. The barn looks simple but is really luxurious, spacious and comfortable with lovely personal touches. It is very clean and all the things you need are there : coffee, tea, sugar etc.The owners are lovely and welcoming. The Ferry inn is a good pub and The Raja of Kent a great Indian restaurant. Great area or children to play and roam around.

This is outstanding accomodation in a beautiful and peaceful setting. The property is very well equipped with everything we could need and it was extremely comfortable and spacious, it was spotlessly clean, everything was immaculate. I loved the huge showers, the children spent alot of time on the tennis court and the games room was a nice suprise. Altogether a very good experience from booking right through to leaving.

We loved it!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I rented out both the The Little Barn and The Long Barn over 4 nights while they were visiting the UK from Canada. We all absolutely loved staying there! The owners were easy to contact and very accommodating. We were welcomed with home made apple juice and freshly baked brownies. The barns are beautifully decorated, and the scenery around the barns is gorgeous. It was very quiet and peaceful, exactly how you imagine staying in the English countryside would be. We have stayed in a lot of holiday rentals and we would rate these barns the best by far! We would stay there again in a heartbeat, needless to say we highly recommend them.

Notes on accommodation: Kitchen: Cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave oven, dishwasher, washing machine. Dining space. In the Old Barn the washing machine is in the ground floor utility room. Master bedroom: King sized bed, cupboard with hanging space and shelf, and ensuite bathroom with shower, sink and toilet. In the Old Barn also a bath. Twin bedrooms: Twin beds. In the Little and Long barns these can zip together to form Super King beds. Cupboard with hanging space and shelf. Third bedroom in Old Barn: King sized bed, cupboard with hanging space and shelf. Bathroom in Old Barn (in addition to ensuite): Large shower, sink and toilet. Bathroom in Little and Long barns (in addition to ensuite): Bath with shower, sink and toilet. Sitting area: Sofa and chairs, stove, HD TV, DVD, stereo. Outside: Patio surrounded by grass. Seating and dining table. Lovely views. Notes: Wifi. No dogs please. Outside: The barns are set around a court yard garden and each barn has its own space, its own patio with seats and tables made from local chestnut. For the summer we are creating a BBQ area off the farm yard for our guests with picnic tables and BBQs. There is no gate between the garden and the lane so toddlers and small children need supervision.
