About the Owner

We made a life-style change and moved to Mullion with our children ten years ago. We were immediately attracted by the beautiful, imposing building of Parc Wartha, by the pretty, friendly village and the stunning scenery of the peninsula. Over the last nine years we have restored Parc Wartha into a lovely family home and holiday let, and have enjoyed sharing our love of our home and Mullion with our visitors.

Perfect Little Apartment in a Great Location

  • 5 of 5

A lovely little apartment, perfect for 2 plus a dog! We were slightly concerned about staying in an apartment above the owner's property as we like our privacy whilst we're away but we need not have worried. We met the owners briefly on arrival but other than that we didn't know they were there - at the same time if we had had a problem we could have simply knocked on their door, actually a perfect situation!

The apartment itself was comfortable, well equipped and clean. The welcome cream tea was a lovely touch. The basket of logs for the wood burner was also very welcomed and we snuggled down in front of the fire every evening. We've visited Cornwall many many times before but have never really explored The Lizard area much and Mullion is the perfect village to do it from. The village itself has plenty of facilities including 2 pubs, can highly recommend the food in the Old Inn and the raspberry gin!, a well stocked Spar Shop with bakery, a fish and chip shop, plus other shops. There is easy access to the coast, about 1 mile away and therefore the coastal footpath which we made the most of.

All in all a lovely 4 night short break in a lovely little apartment in a perfectly positioned location. Would definitely recommend for exploring this beautiful part of the country.

Superb location for Lizard Peninsular

  • 4 of 5

Property was clean and tidy. Nice cream tea provided on arrival. kitchen was reasonably well equipped. Bed very comfortable and plenty of coat hangers in the wardrobe.

The property is superbly situated for exploring the lizard peninsular.

Mullion has two pubs, I can recommend the Old Inn (for food & Drink) but didn't visit the other so can't comment.

The Galleon does great fish & chips and there are various other take away and eat in establishments including the Cornish Curry Club run by the owners and served from a wagon in their yard twice a week.

Mullion also has a Spar & a Londis mini marts for everyday shopping.

Great local walks, try down to the cove then along the clifftops to Poldhu where there is a great beach cafe for lunch. Further afield Lizard point and a pasty from Annes, just off the main green. Plus if you you drive over to Cape Cornwall, stop for lunch at the Cookbook Cafe in St Just (really good lunch).

Although the weather wasn't great we had a wonderful time.

It was a charming little apartment, tucked away in the middle of the village.

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay. The apartment was very clean and well equipped. We loved the wood stove to read by in the colder evenings. We were close to the village pub and shop which we used quite a bit. The cream tea on arrival was very welcome and we loved the array of information about the area which we found in the flat,

We had some lovely warm Octobet weather and we were in a great part of the Lizard to explore the Coastal path and local beaches. We drove further afield and revisited our favourite spots on Cornwall- Trebah gardens, Mousehole, St Michaels Mount, St Ives, Cape Cornwall etc etc.

We had a perfect holiday and would easily return another year.

Cosy apartment in a thriving village

  • 5 of 5

A fantastic stay, the apartment is very comfortable & cosy in the heart of the village with a local Spar across the road, along with two pubs- a cornish cream tea laid on was a very nice welcoming gesture. Mullion cove & the SW coatal path a 20 minute walk & cliff walks around the Lizard a short drive away. The owners also have a rather good curry business that they open up three nights a week from their courtyard which is highly recommended.

Comfortable base for exploring the Lizard

  • 5 of 5

The apartment is attached to the owner's property and is right in the centre of the pretty village of Mullion. The apartment is perfect for a couple, comfortable (bed and sofa), homely and well equipped for everyday life. Wifi is good. The stairs up to the apartment might be a problem for anyone not too sure on their feet though. Enjoyed the cream tea that was awaiting us upon arrival (first of many had whilst travelling around!). It was very handy being able to park in the owner's courtyard as parking is difficult in the narrow village streets (although there is a car park on the other side of the village if needed). Expect visits from the owner's very cute dog who likes to know what you're up to.

As a base Parc Watha is in an excellent location to explore the Lizard Peninsula. It is a 20 minute walk from Mullion Cove and access to the beautiful cliff paths that head north and south. There is plenty of literature in the apartment that show walks in the area both long and short. Poldhu beach is a couple of miles down the road, easily accessible by foot (20 min walk), car (if you can get in the car park) or the 37 bus which you can pick up just around the corner from the apartment. Other beaches close by (in the car) and worth a visit are Church Cove, Dollar Cove and Kynance Cove. You're only 4 miles from Lizard Point and the great walks there too. There is a well stocked Spar around the corner, a chippy, pizza take away and a couple of pubs. We had a week there and only skimmed the surface of everything there is to see and do there. We will definitely return to the area and will have no hesitation in booking Parc Watha again (if available!). Thanks Merryn and Gabriel!

Facilities

From the Owner

Parc Wartha enjoys a central but quiet, tucked away position in the heart of Mullion village. It is just 50yds from shops, restaurants, the church and the village's two pubs and other amenities. Polurrian beach and coastal path are a pretty 20 minute walk away, and the harbour and Poldhu beach are also just a mile away. There is parking in the courtyard, and so much that is immediately available that some visitors to Parc Wartha do not use the car for the whole of their stay.
