Apartment in Mullion, Lizard, Cornwall, England - Secluded And Convenient Location, Within Walking Distance Of All Amenities, Beaches And Harbour

Parc Wartha is a one-bedroomed apartment in the heart of Mullion village. Part of a traditional house, some of which dates back to the 1600s. Parc Wartha is cosy and characterful with exposed beams and stonework and a wood-burning stove. The east-facing balcony provides an opportunity to have a leisurely breakfast in the sunshine whilst the days activities are planned. The convenient location provides an ideal base from which to explore the beautiful surrounding area on foot. The magnificent coastline is within easy walking distance, revealing unspoilt fishing villages and secluded coves. The Helford River, spectacular Kynance Cove, Cadgwith Cove and Lizard (Britain's most southerly point) are all a short drive away. Further afield but still within easy reach are popular destinations such as St Ives, St Michael's Mount, the Eden Project, the Lost Gardens of Heligan, and the Minack Theatre.

About Merryn Regan

We made a life-style change and moved to Mullion with our children ten years ago. We were immediately attracted by the beautiful, imposing building of Parc Wartha, by the pretty, friendly village and the stunning scenery of the peninsula. Over the last nine years we have restored Parc Wartha into a lovely family home and holiday let, and have enjoyed sharing our love of our home and Mullion with our visitors.

Merryn Regan purchased this apartment in 2003

Why Merryn Regan chose Lizard Peninsula

Mullion is a friendly and lively place. Being the largest village in Cornwall there are plenty of amenities and things to do. It is well equipped with inns and restaurants, local supermarkets, art galleries, a craft centre, a heritage centre and a monthly farmers market. There is a calender of annual events to appeal to wide sections of the community and to visitors alike. These include the scarecrow spectacular (August Bank Holiday weekend), and Harbour Day amongst many others. The village is steeped in history arising from its cove and spectacular harbour, its geology and church. The unique scenery of the Lizard Peninsula boasts beautiful coastal walks, delightful gardens, magnificent beaches and traditional fishing villages.

What makes this apartment unique

Parc Wartha enjoys a central but quiet, tucked away position in the heart of Mullion village. It is just 50yds from shops, restaurants, the church and the village's two pubs and other amenities. Polurrian beach and coastal path are a pretty 20 minute walk away, and the harbour and Poldhu beach are also just a mile away. There is parking in the courtyard, and so much that is immediately available that some visitors to Parc Wartha do not use the car for the whole of their stay.

What a find

  • 5 of 5

We were looking for somewhere which had it all and found it. A cream tea to die for on arrival, log fire, all amenities within a stroll. Beautiful Cornwall at it's best even in February we were able to sit out for lunch. The Old Inn was great, the Church has pews over 700 year old, there is a chocolate factory well worth the visit. The owners were so kind, are we coming back you bet we are.

Lovely and Christmas tree

  • 4 of 5

The apartment was great it had everything we needed and in a lovely location for walking. It suited us and the dogs well especially as you could get to the sea quickly and there were lots of great walks nearby so we didn't have to use the car to much.

We stayed over Christmas and we were provided with a real tree, a really nice surprise. The local pub The Old Inn did a lovely Christmas dinner.

The only thing you should consider if staying here are the steps to the apartment are steep but it caused us no problems.

Perfect Little Apartment in a Great Location

  • 5 of 5

A lovely little apartment, perfect for 2 plus a dog! We were slightly concerned about staying in an apartment above the owner's property as we like our privacy whilst we're away but we need not have worried. We met the owners briefly on arrival but other than that we didn't know they were there - at the same time if we had had a problem we could have simply knocked on their door, actually a perfect situation!

The apartment itself was comfortable, well equipped and clean. The welcome cream tea was a lovely touch. The basket of logs for the wood burner was also very welcomed and we snuggled down in front of the fire every evening. We've visited Cornwall many many times before but have never really explored The Lizard area much and Mullion is the perfect village to do it from. The village itself has plenty of facilities including 2 pubs, can highly recommend the food in the Old Inn and the raspberry gin!, a well stocked Spar Shop with bakery, a fish and chip shop, plus other shops. There is easy access to the coast, about 1 mile away and therefore the coastal footpath which we made the most of.

All in all a lovely 4 night short break in a lovely little apartment in a perfectly positioned location. Would definitely recommend for exploring this beautiful part of the country.

Superb location for Lizard Peninsular

  • 4 of 5

Property was clean and tidy. Nice cream tea provided on arrival. kitchen was reasonably well equipped. Bed very comfortable and plenty of coat hangers in the wardrobe.

The property is superbly situated for exploring the lizard peninsular.

Mullion has two pubs, I can recommend the Old Inn (for food & Drink) but didn't visit the other so can't comment.

The Galleon does great fish & chips and there are various other take away and eat in establishments including the Cornish Curry Club run by the owners and served from a wagon in their yard twice a week.

Mullion also has a Spar & a Londis mini marts for everyday shopping.

Great local walks, try down to the cove then along the clifftops to Poldhu where there is a great beach cafe for lunch. Further afield Lizard point and a pasty from Annes, just off the main green. Plus if you you drive over to Cape Cornwall, stop for lunch at the Cookbook Cafe in St Just (really good lunch).

Although the weather wasn't great we had a wonderful time.
