This holiday location is for those whose want to experience the real Spain. Riverside Place is a spacious, 2 bedroom farm bungalow set in an idyllic area of this beautiful Catalunian countryside and benefits from mains electricity. The garden area has a barbecue/eating area, 18ft round swimming pool alongside the sun terrace, a child’s slide and tree swing. Something for both young and old. For those interest in fishing on the famous River Ebro, we have a private, well established, fishing swim with perfect depth and pace for catching a variety of fresh water fish, including the famous giant Ebro catfish. This holiday destination benefits from peace & tranquillity & is a short distance, via a well maintained tarmac farm road from the warm and friendly village of Benifallet where you will find bars, restaurants, grocery stores, a bakery, butchers & more to cater for your every need. Locally there is guided fishing, rambling, cycling, local caves, bird watching, kayaking, river boat trip etc...

About the Owner

We moved to Benifallet in Dec 2003 with our 2 young children and started out a new adventure abroad. Rob has fished the River Ebro since 1998 & always wanted to start up his own guided fishing business which is exactly what we did. We started out with a boat and have built up our client list over the years, mostly due to word of mouth, which we take great pride in. Our passion for this beautiful area resulted in us buying and renovating this 2 bedroom farm bungalow, the neighbouring farm casita and a 2 bedroom village house, so others can enjoy and experience this breath taking area of Cataluna. We look forward to welcoming new and old customers to our adventures.

The location speaks for its self, there is plenty to do close by for those who want adventure & those who want to relax & recuperate, this amazing setting is perfect. There is so much to do on your doorstep if you want it. We specialise in guided fishing & the village has lots to offer with the Iberic village, River trips, Caves, a large open air pool, a good choice of restaurants (5 in total), 2 butchers, 2 general stores, 4 bars, a bakery, 2 hair salons & for those with energy to burn kyaking, sedge ways, cycling, rambling & all this in a village with a population of under 800. Further afield the coast is 30 mins away, the water park & theme park is an hr away as is the nearest airport. There is something for all walks of life & age groups. All this is why we chose this location....

Special interest holidays:

We specialise in guided cat fishing trips, Rob has over 30 years fishing experience with extensive knowledge of the River Ebro since 1998. If you are intersted in taking a guided trip we recommend that you book in advance to aviod disappointment, as our clients tend to book a year to 6 months in advance.

Coast/Beach:

The nearest beach is in El Perrello which is approx 25 mins drive away, if you want to spend the day on a commercialized beach Salou is approx 1 hour drive away, or if you prefer a quite beach-approx an hour drive in the other direction you will find Mirimar beach which is a beautiful, long, sandy beach which is very safe for young children or L'Ampolla is around 40 mins away & even in the high summer season this beach is never too busy-please refer to the photo of a beach.

Travel:

The nearest airport is Reus-may be listed under Barcelona. Ryanair are usually the best airline to use with good rates and availability. The airport is approx 1 hr drive from us, car high is essential for this destination. For those of you who don't fly, you can get a mini cruise to either Santander or Bilbao, from either Portsmouth or Plymouth. When in Spain we are approx a 5hr drive away.

Distances:

Benifallet has its own local caves you can visit and a boat trip up the river Ebro. You can hire bikes and cycle on a stretch of the cycle track running through stunning locations, there is also a walking track running past the farm, alongside the river to Miravet, where you can visit Miravet Castell and if you have the time before your 2 hr walk back, have a drink and lunch in the square looking out over the river. Font Caldo is a must approx 25 mins away and much much more.

Further Details:

There is a wide choice of restaurants, bars and shops in the village, to cater for all your needs and more. You can dine in one of our local restaurants for as little as 12 euros from the menu del dia or Al a carte at very reasonable prices or have a filled baguette, pizza, tapas ect... and a glass of wine at one of the local bars, the choice is yours. The locals are warm, friendly and very helpful. There is a local family who run kayaking and we run our own guided catfishing trips.

Booking Notes:
If this holiday is for you we need 25% deposit to secure the booking followed by full payment of your balance 15 days prior to check in. We also require a security deposit of £100 on arrival which will be refunded on your departure.The house will be avail from 4pm on the date you arrive & must be vacated by 10am on the day of departure (this may be flexible with prior notice). Please note that we do not cater for all male fishing parties of more than 3 persons. House must be clean & tidy on your departure.

Changeover Day:
We are very flexible with booking & changeover dates. House will be avail from 4pm on the date of your arrival & must be vacated by 10am unless arranged in advance. House must be clean & tidy on your departure.

Notes on prices:
There is an additional 50 euros surcharge per week for families of 5.
Please note that we require a security deposit of £100 which is refundable on your departure to ensure there is no damage to the property & that the house is left clean & tidy.

The property benefits from mains electricity, quite rare in rural properties. Good access from a well maintained tarmac farm road. Private well established fishing swim. Private pool. This property is both peaceful & relaxing but, a short distance from the village if you want to indulge in village life. The house is situated in stunning 360 degree mountain views. And the wildlife is just outside your front door with birds of prey, hoopoo's & kingfishers being regular visitors. Also on a few occasions wild boar have been seen trotting across the road & wondering down our farm land. And finally good access/distances to other places of interest, i.e... the coast, war monuments, etc....

Notes:

  • Notes on accommodation: This holiday destination is fully suitable for children and adults alike with the standard parent supervision in the pool and riverside areas. For the fishing, a licence is required which we can obtain with prior notice. Please note that although the house caters for up to 5 people, the prices quoted are for 4 people with an additional 50 euro supplement for a 5th person. Parties of 5 must be families only. Please note that due to fishing capacity we do not take more than 3 people on all male fishing parties (sorry to disappoint). Please note I am sorry to say that this destination is not suitable for those with physical and or mental disabilities, young or old, this rural holiday does not cater for their needs. Outside: Enter the property via a gate which gives you access to back garden, the gate leads up to the front sun terrace which has table & chairs where you can relax enjoying the stunning mountain views. The back garden has a large sun terrace with table & chairs, sun loungers & a BBQ. The garden is laid with gravel leading to the private swimming pool which is 18ft in diameter with a dept of 1.20 meters. The garden has several young fruit trees & flowering shrubs with again stunning mountain views from every direction. Cleaning / Towels / Linen Bed linen is supplied & changed every 7 days. Towels are supplied & changed twice weekly. The house is cleaned to a high standard for your arrival & must be left clean & tidy when you depart.
