About Anne Kelly

I live in the farmhouse with my husband and 1 teenage son, our daughter and 2 sons have already flown the nest for university life. I work as a nurse in the local community Hospital in Tarporley. We welcome our guests on arrival and have plenty of information available to make their stay enjoyable. We have a lot of returning guests so we must be doing something right!

Anne Kelly purchased this barn in 2007

Why Anne Kelly chose Chester

We have lived in the area for over 26 years. Lower House Farm was bought by us in 2007 and is 'work in progress'! We had the chance to renovate the farm buildings in 2011 to 2 stylish holiday accommodations. They offer up to date convenience. Both have underfloor heating and lovely Clearview log-burners in The Shippon and an electric log burner effect heater in The Dairy. Both have well equipped kitchens and lovely lounge space. We love the location of our home, it is on the fringe of the village, part of the community but opens out to lovely Cheshire Countryside on the other. Eaton has no regular bus service the nearest is 1 mile away in Tarporley which offers a regular service between Crewe and Chester. There is a network of country lanes locally so a countryside stroll is easy!

What makes this barn unique

The Shippon and Dairy are nestled between the owners farmhouse and the original barns converted in the 1990's. They lie on the edge of the quiet village of Eaton, which has a primary school, church and a busy Village Hall. We have ample parking space, opening out to the lovely views of rural Cheshire. The accommodation offers quiet, short or long breaks for guests wishing to explore Chester, Liverpool, Manchester and North Wales. Oulton Park race course is just about 1 mile from the barns, so very handy for the race course fan, our ample parking allows you to bring your own vehicle trailer. Just over 1 mile away is the popular village of Tarporley offering boutiques, coffee shops, restaurant, wine bar and traditional pub foods. It is about a 20-30 minute walk along quiet country lanes.

Stayed for 3 nights to visit Carfest North and felt at home the moment we arrived. Perfect quiet location with high quality furnishings and spotlessly clean. The owners have done a fantastic job and everything you need is there. Would recommend 100%.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much! Sorry we couldn't do anything about the miserable weather but glad you were able to return from a wet Carfest to comfort. Anne

The Dairy is a fabulous, well equipped and cosy cottage in the heart of the Cheshire Countryside. The location is ideal for exploring all that Cheshire has to offer from the City of Chester to the market town of Sandbach. North Wales with its amazing walks is also easily accessible from the cottage.

The setting is stunning, surrounded by rolling hills, sheep and friendly horses! A perfect place to unwind after busy day.

The friendly owners live just next to the cottage and always available & happy to answer any questions.

The homemade apple juice & freshly laid eggs were an added bonus!!!

I would definitely return.

The Dairy

  • 5 of 5

I had a wonderful stay at The Dairy. I enjoyed a jolly good rest, in a very homely cottage. The Dairy had everything I needed, & the situation was handy for visiting my family & friends. Anne & Declan were kind & helpful, & I made friends with their little Westie, Mickey. And the hens! My husband stayed at the weekend, & we thoroughly enjoyed pottering around Tarporley & visiting the pubs there. Thank you!
