'The Terrace' Apartment at the Han Inn is a unique penthouse apartment with a light and spacious modern interior and an amazing exterior private space. With over 120 m2 of private roof terraces on two levels, furnished with 6 sun beds, dining and lounging furniture, your only problem is deciding where to sit or sun bathe. Just 9 properties at the Han Inn complex share the beautiful 185m2 pool, which is set amidst lush mature gardens. Rather like a “Secret Garden” the Han Inn complex is hidden away from the surrounding properties and entering its grounds is a complete surprise. "The Terrace" apartment is wonderfully private and fresh, offering panoramic mountain, town and sea views, ultimately convenient for the town, yet away from the bustle and noise. Our guests love it!

About Mrs Karaaslan

I am Bridget Karaaslan and with my husband Sakir, run a well established estate agency called Black Lion in Kalkan. I own and/or manage a very small selection of Kalkan properties catering for between 2 to 10 people, with a variety of locations and suitable for various budgets. Unlike most 'rental agencies' I know the properties intimately and in many cases personally own and manage them.

Why Mrs Karaaslan chose Kalkan

The Terrace apartment belongs to us and we purchased it simply because of its totally unique character and fantastic location. The Han Inn complex is not that well known even to regular Kalkan visitors. A small development of 9 apartments surrounding a large 180m2 pool and complemented by mature gardens to create a hidden oasis in the heart of the town.

What makes this apartment unique

The Terrace apartment is on the top floor and has over 120m2 of private terraces on two split levels affording panoramic town, mountain and sea views. It is inspiring, private and at the same time ultimately convenient. Only 2 minutes walk from shops, restaurants, banks and supermarkets. Completely gutted and renovated in 2014 the Terrace is proving popular with couples on their own, couples together and small families.

Outside: The outside terrace areas are substantial and offer sunshine all day long. The lower terrace faces East and South and is furnished with dining table and 4 dining chairs under an extendable awning. Also on this level will be four sun beds with cushions, 2 x sun bed side tables and 2 x large umbrellas, BBQ, 2 comfy armchairs and an outdoor shower for cooling off. On the upper terrace deck is a 5 x 5m pergola with fabric awning under which guests can relax on two three seat sofas and coffee table. Also on the upper terrace with be a further 2 sun beds with side table and umbrella - so couples sharing can literally have one terrace each or families can be all together on the lower deck! The apartment has a private entrance from the rear with an off road parking space with pergola. The 185m2 shared pool is plenty large enough for a decent swim and the surrounding gardens offer sun and shade. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Cleaning, bedlinen, bathroom and pool towels are included.Mid stay cleans/laundry changes on stays of 10 days or more.

Superb apartment in an amazing resort

We had a fantastic week at the Terrace apartment at the beginning of May 2017. From the very start of the booking process to receiving our breakages deposit return, Bridget made the whole process very easy. The set up is very professional and Bridget kept in touch via WhatsApp or text the whole time. She very kindly arranged our airport transfers too. As there were no incoming guests in our departure day, she also allowed us to check out of the apartment late as we had an evening flight home. The apartment itself is lovely. It is very clean and well maintained - many things looked new. The furnishings are modern and comfortable. The beds are very comfortable with good quality bedding & linens. I was pleasantly suprised to find good quality pillows, rather than the cheap lumpy ones often found in holiday rental properties. The bathrooms, whilst a little snug, were appointed to a high standard with nice powerful showers and plenty of towels. The kitchen had new appliances and everything we needed for the few meals we made at the apartment. The real stars of the apartment are the two wonderful terraces. The terrace that leads off the living area is very well furnished with a table & chairs and several comfortable sun loungers and the roof terrace has a complete set of sofas, cofffe table & more sun loungers. We spent most of our time on the terraces, which have great views and also caught any breeze to be had, which was most welcome in the heat. The views from the terraces are really very good, especially at night when the whole of Kalkan is lit up around you. The apartment has a shared pool in the garden below. The pool is quite large, clean and again there are plenty of sun loungers available. As the pool is only shared by a few apartments I should imagine it is fairly quite, even in the busy high sumner period. The location of the apartment is exceptionally good as it is right in the centre of town, only a 5 minute walk into the old town and less to bars, restaurants and supermarkets. You really do not need to hire a car! As the apartment is located in a side street, off the main road, it is very quiet. Kalkan offers everything you need for a perfect holiday. We found a gym with Pilates & spinning classes! The restaurants are varied and offer some excellent dining. I would highly recommend The Terrace Apt and Kalkan and hope to return in the future. Amazing week at ‘The Terrace’

had a wonderful early spring week staying in ‘The Terrace’ in Kalkan.

Kalkan was slowly opening up for the season and the weather was warm and sunny. This was my second visit to Kalkan. The first time I stayed in the Old Town but this time chose to stay at ‘The Terrace’ which is a leisurely 5 minute walk into the old town or down to the harbour.

I really enjoyed the peaceful location of the apartment while still having everything on my doorstep. You can pop next door to the bakers for beautiful Turkish breads or if you want you breakfast cooked for you then head to ‘Ada Patisserie’. A short walk up the road you will find ‘Saliha Sultan Pastanesi’ which has the most beautiful cake selection. Also the Atlantis Turkish Bath & Spa is a 2 minute walk away – an essential experience for anyone before starting their holiday!

‘The Terrace’ gave me everything I needed in a home away from home – very comfortable bed, great bed linen, a good shower and a fully equipped kitchen with everything you could possibly need. The outside terrace space is amazing and for the sun worshippers among you, you can get 12 hours of sun a day. The upstairs terrace is great for unwinding with a cold glass of something and watching the amazing sunsets.

If I could I would rebook for September but unfortunately the apartment is already taken! Thank you Bridget for a wonderful experience from start to finish.

Just perfect!

It is difficult to find something new to say about Bridget and her beautiful property.This is a fantastic apartment in an ideal position, which is equipped with everything you could possibly need. The shared garden and pool area are just lovely and extremely peaceful and so well maintained. However, even more than all this are the incredible 360 degree views from the top terrace, best enjoyed alone first thing in the morning, or with company and a glass of wine in the evening. Just can't be bettered!

We have visited Kalkan many times but were only lucky enough to find this apartment 2 years ago and it is simply perfect.

From the very first contact with Bridget, she is efficient and helpful ,organising transfers, assisting with queries,even an excellent information pack for new visitors.On this last occasion Bridget also supplied an excellent travel cot and high chair for our young grandson.

Revisiting the property photos today, my family and I can't wait to be back!

First Class

Fabulous property, very close to the old town but set in a secluded garden with a super-sized swimming pool.

The apartment was laid out really well with everything you would need for a self catering stay.

Nothing was too much trouble for Bridget who responded to requests in a timely manner and provided a lovely welcome pack, pool towels and turkish towels for use during our stay.

The pool was never full even though it is shared with 10 other properties on the complex and the gardens are well maintained and look beautiful.

Looking forward to coming back next year.

Second visit

This was our second visit to The Terrace and everything was still as perfect as it was last year. The property is very well maintained and was spotlessly clean when we arrived. It felt like home again and in fact we had been counting down the days since our last visit as we all loved the property and town so much!

The town was a little quieter than last year but it was still busy in the restaurants and bars. We all felt completely safe and at ease.

The complex where The Terrace is was also quieter than last year but this suited us just fine, it was so peaceful and we just came and went as we pleased!

All in all another wonderful stay at The Terrace. I can't recommend this property and the town of Kalkan enough.

Car: not necessary


The apartment is a 5-10 walk of the public beach and the harbour. From the harbour you can catch the water taxis to Palm Beach, Patara Prince beach, Villa Mahal and Kalkan Park beach clubs. The nearest sandy beach is Kaputas, a small beach at the bottom of a gorge with turquoise blue water and just 5 minutes by car/local bus. The 18km sandy beach at Patara (protected nature reserve and totally unspoilt) is a 20 minute car/local bus ride away.


Nearest airport is Dalaman a 75-90 min car journey. An alternative is Antalya a 2½ - 3 hours drive by car. We advise a private airport transfer on arrival to the villa, which we can arrange - although it is possible to travel with local transport or to hire a car at the airport and drive yourself. A car is not necessary for staying the property and you can hire a car on a daily basis once you arrive for planned day trips out.


The next nearest town to Kalkan is Kas, a 27km / 30 min drive away. Kas is worth visiting just for the stunning scenery on the coastal road. The nearest large town is Fethiye a 50 minute drive away with its bustling market, harbour and fish restaurants. Many historical sites are within a 45 minute drive of Kalkan including Xanthos, Tlos, and Pinara. Other places of interest are Saklikent Gorge, and the traditional villages of Bezirgan and Islamlar just a short drive up into the Taurus Mountains.

Further Details:

Kalkan has 7 major banks all with cash machines accepting most credit cards plus a local post office. Internet cafes and phone shops to stay in touch with home. There are English speaking doctors and a dentist if required. Don’t miss the experience of a Turkish bath or Hamam at the Atlantis well being centre, where there is also a small gym for fitness enthusiasts. Kalkan is well known for its array of excellent restaurants high up on roof terraces in the old town or by the harbour. Don't miss the traditional eateries like Belgin's kitchen with authentic Turkish food, live Turkish music and the chance to smoke a water pipe or the small kebab houses, pide (pizza) and pancake restaurants. Must Do's When In Kalkan: A day trip to Kekova/Simena, Saklikent Gorge and A Boat Trip On Kalkan Bay.

Booking Process:
We can hold dates for 48 hours in order for you to find and book your flights. To book we require a signed copy of our booking form plus a 25% or min £250 deposit paid to our UK bank account. The balance is due 10 weeks before your arrival together with a refundable £250 damage deposit.

Changeover Day:
Our changeover day depends on running bookings adjacent to dates already taken and is at our discretion. Our preference is for Monday especially from the beginning of June through to the start of October.

Arrival and Departure Times:
The earliest check in time on arrival is 5pm. If you arrive a little earlier you may leave luggage and collect pool towels and head to the pool while we finishing preparing the apartment. The normal check out time is midday unless we can offer more flexibility.This depends on any incoming guests flight times.

2017/8 the prices for the property are based on 2-4 sharing. We can offer a £50/week discount for couples use in May, June, September and October, or a £50/week discount for stays of 2 weeks or more during May and October. For availability please check our availability calendar which is always up to date.

A welcome pack is provided on arrival or water, tea, coffee, sugar, milk, cold drinks and snacks.
