I thought we came to De Zalze, but this is heaven!

This is by far the most beautiful place we have ever stayed in! Being it the house, the estate or the city of Stellenbosch - it is all above our expectations!

We were met by the most lovely house owners Altus and Jose, adorable, who showed us around the house. After they left I actually asked my husband whether we should just use the ground floor, the house is so big and well equipped!

Just BBQ´ing in the "pool lounge" at night drinking the local wine is the best feeling, and then you can simply fill up your glass from the wine fridge. Although we were only 3 people (including one baby), we felt so at home immediately. Got into our morning routines; my husband road biking with locals to Franshhoek and me laying in the swimming pool while baby took the morning rest. The estate is lovely to run in. Best before 10 am and after 6 pm due to the heat while we were there. Combination of running along the golf course, wine yards and through the streets of beautiful homes.

We were in the house for 2 weeks, but completely agreed we would love to stay 2 months! Next time maybe ;-)

Altus was quick replying on all our questions/inquires. And the house was clean and our baby just crawled in her nappies all day long.

The location is fantastic in all ways! The Stellenbosch Square is great for shopping food, cakes at the café or simply cooling off. We went to the Root 44 local marked on a Saturday - this is a MUST!!!! And the restaurant at the Golf house is amazing, great place to just zip a glass or two of wine. Tomorrow we will try the renowned Terroir restaurant before we leave.

We will definitely be back! Score: 10 out of 10!

De Zalze home

We enjoyed a wonderful stay at this spacious, well equipped and comfortable home. The views were equally as good overlooking the lake, mountains, vineyards and olive groves in a quiet, tranquil situation. The property was very well maintained and the owner was very attentive and helpful. Good shopping locally or a short trip into Stellenbosch or Cape Town. Very well situated for visiting the winelands and other tourist attractions. I would recommend this holiday home with confidence.

Holiday in De Zalze

The house was a true home from home,we felt so lucky to be in such a beautiful house which had everything that we could have wished for,the bean to cup coffee machine and ice maker were such wonderful luxuries.

The distant view of Table Mountain was magical and the location on the secure golf estate was perfect.

We are returning next year!!

Cape Town International airport is 30 minutes drive from the house. The use of a car is essential and car hire is available from the airport and locally.
