In traditional farmhouse style, Drake Cottage belongs to the west wing of this historic 16th century farmhouse. If you like space, Drake is definitely for you as all of its rooms enjoy generous proportions. The front door leads to a spacious, well equipped kitchen with an imposing inglenook.
The large country-style table can seat 12 people, a real bonus when Drake is let out with along with neighbouring Rook Cottage. The living room with ramped wheelchair access is large and comfortable and leading off from this is the downstairs twin bedroom with specially adapted en-suite shower room suited to persons with impaired mobility. Doors open out onto the decked patio. Upstairs there are two large bedrooms - one double, one twin and a shared bathroom with shower over bath and WC.
Drake has intercommunicating doors with Rook Cottage next door for larger groups wanting to share. There is free Wifi, towels andbed linen is included and well behaved dogs are welcome in Drake Cottage.
Great Gutton offers you a chance to escape, relax and unwind. About 40 minutes from both the North and South coast and with Exmoor and Dartmoor nearby it's a great place to start exploring from. All the five properties have well equipped kitchens and there is free Wifi in all cottages. Offering 3, 4 and 7 night stays throughout the year, we look forward to welcoming you to our charming 16th Century Devonshire farmhouse.
About the Owner
About Suzi Morgan
The Morgan family moved into Great Gutton in 2009, slightly nervous of what we had taken on, but excited at the thought of what we could do. Since then we have finished the bulk of the renovation work & now seem to be starting again! With 4 kids, assorted dogs, chickens & sheep, life is never dull & we love to see folk enjoying their stays here as much as we love living here. There's all sorts to do & all sorts of ways to spend your time; Beaches, Moors, Culture, Traffic pubs, lovely walks, old stuff/new stuff and everything in between. Great Gutton is also a great place to just chill & relax. In recent years we have seen more & more folk come to us as part of a celebration, a gathering or just to be together. Our indoor heated pool open all year round is the icing on the cake!
