Shippon Cottage is a spacious, luxurious and romantic cottage for two with wonderful views of Lose Hill and the surrounding countryside. Built in 1872 this substantial stone cottage originally housed the farm's dairy and hay loft. Converted in 2000 it now provides spacious, high quality pet friendly accommodation and is a perfect retreat after exploring the delights of the Peak District.
Uniquely, upstairs Shippon Cottage features a large beamed 7m by 5m stunning open plan bedroom with adjoining sitting room (with TV/DVD). The room also features a specatular four poster bed. This upstairs space can be separated by drapes with a comfortable sofa bed giving flexibility for a third guest.
Downstairs features another sitting room with TV/DVD and gas stove. Adjoining is a fully fitted kitchen/dining area with electic cooker, fridge, dishwasher and fridge freezer. The downstairs bathroom has a bath and electric power shower. The sitting room opens onto a garden terrace for guests' use
No longer a working farm but home to labradors, ponies, hens and sheep, Spring House Farm is a tranquil and secluded setting near the Peak District village of Castleton It is an ideal location to holiday in the Peak District particularly if you wish to walk and want excellent dog friendly accommodation. The property offers two beautifully restored self catering cottages set in an attractive Grade II listed courtyard with working stables. The cottages have wonderful views of the surrounding landscape and are located literally on the door step of great walking countryside. They are a 15 minute walk along quite lanes and tracks to the pretty village of Castleton and a 20 minute drive to Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Bakewell and Buxton. In addition to walking they offer plenty of space to store bicycles and climbing equipment and are an ideal location from where to visit Castleton's caverns and Peveril's Castle. Each cottage is fully equipped with all linen and towels provided, plus Wi-Fi access, TV/DVD and its own private garden area. The cottages cater for short breaks as well as longer stays. Dogs are welcome in a very pet friendly environment at no extra cost.
Within easy walking distance of Castleton with its castle, caverns, pubs and gentle hussle and bussle, Spring House Farm offers tranquility, privacy and seclusion in a lovely setting plus fabulous walking literally from the door step. Both cottages are pet friendly.

Those inquiring by email will receive a reply giving availability and price. They will be asked to complete and return a booking form by post or email along with a 50% deposit (cheque or electronic payment). The balance is simply payable on arrival. On arrival the cottage will be open with the key in the door.
Friday preferred for one/two week stays Short breaks available either for weekends or mid-week.

The views are amazing from the cottage, apart from the cement factory in the valley some distance away who ever allowed this to be built wants shooting!!
The cottage is 10-15 minutes walk from Castelton village mostly along car free tracks which is great if you have a dog
The owner has three dogs and our jack Russell got on really well with them.
The cottage is well equipped and spotlessly clean and very comfortable with all the home comforts you will need

We stayed here with our two dogs for the weekend. It was fantastic, everything you could need in walking distance. Great Walks, Welcoming Pubs and in such a beautiful part of the Peak District. The family are very welcoming and everything was perfect, can't wait to revisit.
