About Mrs Anna Hale

We love our house...it really is a great place to be and great for the teenagers since they can walk out of the house into the woods or onto the bus to Henley or Oxford!

Mrs Anna Hale purchased this house in 2003

Why Mrs Anna Hale chose South Oxfordshire

Nettlebed has a great pub, the White Hart and a lovely coffee/lunch house called The Field Kitchen.

It is also 7 minutes drive to Henley with lots of restaurants , a cinema and theatre.

Of course if you are hunting for a quieter time the fields and woods are beautiful and one can walk through the Nettlebed Estate to the Five Horseshoes which boasts a beautiful view!

What makes this house unique

We have a big garden and field behind our barn. inside with have a lovely big old fireplace great for chatting round late into the night!

Fantastic house in a great location

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic stay in your house. It has everything you could ask for in a weekend away. We used the location to host our annual college reunion and cooked a lovely 3 course meal there for Saturday night. We hired a motor boat for the day and had amazing weather and a lovely picnic on the bank.

Can't fault the house and the owner was very responsive to any query I had during the booking stage and whilst we stay in the house. Definitely would recommend to anyone looking for a house in this area.

Amazing house, full of character!

  • 5 of 5

This was a great house for a large family party. It is a beautiful period house with loads of character and charm. We were a party of 8 adults, 3 children and one infant. The bedrooms accommodated us with ease. The beds were very comfortable. There were plenty of bathrooms/showers. There was a large kitchen with all amenities, and ample reception rooms for the whole family to meet up in the evenings. Wifi was very good, and there were plenty of TVs if you wanted to watch them. Phone reception was not so good, but that did not bother us. The house was also large enough for the family to spread out and not disturb each other. We were fortunate to have lovely weather for the whole visit, so we were able to enjoy the lovely garden. We all enjoyed the trampoline, table tennis and football net. We ate outside every meal time, mainly having barbecues. There was also a little play house for the children. There is a small pond, so young children do need to be supervised but we didnt find it a problem. The location is also perfect. 10 minutes drive into Henley where there is a large Waitrose. There is also a bus stop one minute away. We had a wonderful time and would thoroughly recommend this house to large parties.

Lovely cosy home, perfect place for a weekend away

  • 5 of 5

We're so pleased we chose the Malt house for our weekend away. We were a group of 9 friends coming from a variety of places, wanting to hang out, enjoy each others company, make nice food and be in a relaxed and beautiful setting. This was the perfect venue for it. The house is really cosy and has loads of character. There is everything you need for cooking and there's a gorgeous wood stove and fireplace where we had lovely fires in the evening. Anna was super accommodating and friendly. The surrounding area is lovely and Henley on Thames is really pretty. Recommend also Kubu spa in henley-on-thames for top notch massages!

Lovely setting, beautiful home

  • 5 of 5

Anna and family were incredibly welcoming into their beautiful home, to our university reunion group of eight. Their house is spacious and homely with all amenities needed for a comfortable stay. Located just five miles from Henley-on-Thames, the house sits in the pretty village of Nettlebed where walking opportunities abound. Would also point to the local pub, the White Hart, where steaks are the speciality. Thoroughly recommended.

Lovely Stay!

  • 4 of 5

We stayed at the Malthouse for a weekend and had a great stay. The house was perfect for a large group. The gardens were pretty, with lots of space for children to run around and play. Cosy lounge. Well stocked kitchen. Very peaceful and quiet. Great for nature lovers - we sat and watched the Red Kites soaring above us most mornings in the garden. Local pub -"the white Hart" served very good food and were extremely welcoming.
