A Perfect Hideaway Retreat

  • 5 of 5

Absolutely superb holiday cottage, without doubt the best we have ever stayed in.

The facilities within Gwylan Cottage are all that you will need for your stay. The cleanliness of the cottage is second to none and the views are to die for.

Communications with John were excellent and he is more than helpful. The cottage is excellent value for money and the peace and tranquility that you will be afforded during your stay ensures that you will be able to recharge your batteries!

There are some wonderful walks, as long or as short as you want them to be. St Dogmaels is a wonderful little town, as in Cardigan;super takeaway in St Dogmaels (Bowens), tasty Bara Brith.

A gem of a place for children to stay at, ours have had hours of fun exploring the 'estate'.

We shall be immensely sad to leave here but will most definitely be back next year.

Really a unique retreat

  • 5 of 5

First of all I apologize for my bad English. And here's my review in headwords: Everything highly recommendable. Quick and friendly communication with John. Own car park. Stunning sea views at a 150 degree horizon in northerly directions - even from bedroom and living room. Large terrace. Beautiful garden. Peaceful silence. Almost no sounds from the YHA nearby, just as much to make you pleasently feel not to be alone on earth. Well-appointed kitchen and bathroom. Well-functioning toilet and shower. Appealing interior. Comfortable matresses. Walk to the beach takes 15 minutes. Recommendable pubs, inns, and sgod a sglod within 10 minutes, shopping at Cardigan within 15 minutes, Golf at Cardigan Golf Club within 20 minutes by car. We look forward to returning to this unique retreat.

We believe we've found the perfect holiday home ..

  • 5 of 5

We believe we have found the perfect holiday home destination. Hidden away from the usual noise of modern living, this bungalow offers a rare opportunity to relax free from traffic noise, crowds and even neighbours. Once through the high wooden gate you enter an idyllic world yet with all the comforts you'd expect from a well equipped home. The views of the sea and distant coastline are enchanting, and the garden is a delight. Nearby there are a variety of walks to suit all abilities, a lovely beach, and numerous shops a ten minute drive away.

This was our second year and we've already booked for next ..... before you do!

Best cottage for years

  • 5 of 5

We didn't believe places like this still existed. Gwylan is a beautiful holiday home, perfect for those who long for quiet seclusion away from traffic and telephone noise. Close the high garden gate and you are in a world of your own. The views across the bay are stunning. The property is lovingly cared for and offers everything needed for a great holiday. A wonderful selection of DVD's and videos for all ages are available for the rare wet day in Wales. We can't wait to return next year. Our only worry is that by giving such a good review, it will be fully booked. This is the best cottage we've stayed in for years!

The 6 acre sloping garden ends at high water mark onto sandy Poppit beach. It's a 5 minute walk down the lane to the beach where there is a newly renovated cafe, lifeboat station and public toilets.

The pretty town of Cardigan is 10 minutes drive. St Dogmaels, the nearest village is 5 minutes drive.
