14 Westcliff is an excellent 3-bedroom apartment in Bude set in a west facing position on the famous rugged North Cornwall coastline with Budes award winning beaches..

2017 we have newly refurbished with a sumptuous new sofa , curtains & fittings & new beds, new 42' smart TV in the living room and smart TV in the main bedroom.

Since Victorian times Bude's has boasted a premier hotel, The Westcliff, this beautiful building is now converted to become luxury apartments. Happily, some original features remain.

Number 14 is on the top floor with panoramic bay and picture windows from the 2 larger of the bedrooms giving views of Summerleaze beach, Crooklets beach but Bude is not just about beach from here we can also see across the Downs towards the famous sea pool and Pepper Pot, the Cricket Pitch, the river Neet and across to the canal & Sea lock.

To give an idea of the spacious dimensions and excellent layout of the property we have included a schematic in the photos.

Every amenity is within walking distance- Sainsbury's 5 min, golf 5 min etc etc so if you choose you could leave the car parked for the duration of your stay. Bude has all the necessities supermarkets (Sainsbury’s, Co-op, Lidl, Morrisons), banks, doctors, chemists, costa and a predominance of Independent shops such as the wonderful Lansdown Diary.

Cornwall has a long coastline but few properties have a panoramic sea view.

The apartment is well laid out with two west facing bedrooms and large living rooms on one side of the hallway and kitchen with breakfast bar, 3rd bedroom, family shower bathroom and separate WC with sink on the other.

The kitchen has a dishwasher, microwave, fridge, electric cooker. Places set for 6 in matching glass & dining set.

The building has a laundry room on site including a washing machine & separate dryer.

The apartment has electric heating and an electric shower.

The apartment block has a two door security system from to the off street parking where one spot is reserved for the occupants of number 14 and the apartment is then reached either by the stairway or by a lift.

The apartment décor is clean, clear in what we would describe as a minimal friendly approach. Walls are white. Linen is white. Cups are white. The scenery adds colour as do the sofas!

About Nicky

Family owned, we live nearby and visit whenever it is available. Now we have outgrown the property, although it is spacious it is not really suitable for our many out door animals.

Nicky purchased this apartment in 1997

Notes on accommodation: The entire flat was recently refurbished in a contemporary style. New carpets, furnishings , equipment and accessories. The nature of the building is calm and peaceful, partly being full time accommodation and partly being holiday let. As a top floor flat with panoramic view we have stairs and a lift up to the third floor. Private allocated car parking is at the front of the building (one space marked 14). Level access is available into the building. Non smoking. Not suitable for pets. Outside: A private communal garden is to the front of the building. There are no roads to cross to reach the sea pool, Summerleaze beach, Crooklets beach and the Downs. Utility Room: A washing machine and separate drier (both metered) are available in the communal laundry room on the ground floor. Outside rotary lines in courtyard available. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Property is immaculately clean on arrival. White hotel grade cotton linen and towels are provided.(Bath sheet +hand towel per guest, hand towels per bathroom) 2 tea towels. 1 oven glove. Additional professional maid services are provided on request. Other: 14 Westcliff has a spacious layout of generous sized rooms. See plan. Living room is approx 25ft x 17ft

Fabulous Penthouse Apartment

If you plan to visit the Bude area, I highly recommend this property. It has an amazing setting just steps from the beach, the apartment is comfortably furnished, and there are great restaurants very close by. The apartment is located on the top floor with panoramic views of the ocean and has what feels like a private elevator (though its not). The dedicated parking spot was ideal as parking in Bude is in high demand. The owners made us feel very welcome and provided an excellent owner's manual with instructions regarding the apartment as well as nearby attractions. We loved our visit to Bude and would definitely book here again if we return. Our stay could not have been better and 14 Westcliff is fabulous.

Fabulous Week

We have just returned from a weeks break in Bude, the apartment is very clean and very well presented, the views and location are wonderful,everything is in place for your stay and the walk to the beach takes all of 2 minutes. We would recommend the property to anybody with young children as the beach is a fantastic place especially when the tide is out and a walk along the canal area is very relaxing.

We will definitely be returning to the apartment in the future.

Property was very clean, tidy and comfortable. Beds very comfortable, linen very nice.

The property is bright and airy with lovely views and is generally well equipped. We stayed for two weeks and would have appreciated more towels than were provided - only one bath towel person and a hand towel in each bathroom and toilet. Limited storage in the twin and single bedrooms - a chest of drawers would have been useful. Also, very few coat hangers in all rooms. All rooms are well proportioned - plenty of space.

The property is close to all amenities of the town - shops, restaurants etc - as well as being right on the coastal path. Loads of walks from the door. Park the car on arrival and then forget about it. We would be happy to recommend the property to friends, and hope to visit again.

Comfortable apartment in a great location

Relaxing holiday in a comfortable and well equipped apartment in a great location overlooking Summerleaze Beach.

If you like to watch the tide (and dog walkers) come and go and the sun set in the to sea at the end of the day then you couldn't do much better in Bude, either sitting in the bay window of the apartment (we quickly moved the kitchen stools to the window bay!) or down on the dunes that are a stone's throw away.

Come by car and then leave it in the reserved parking space - you really shouldn't need to use it again. The town is a short walk, either back up the road or on the path between the river and canal if the tide is out, and Sainsbury's is a few minute's away on foot. Explore the beach (as far as Sandymouth if you understand tides), the sea pool, the canal, the cliffs, the geology, the heritage center. There is a leisure pool and cinema nearby if the weather turns, although watching the weather from the apartment and Freeview Play on the TV was entertainment enough for us.

Nowhere is perfect but, for what we were after for our stay, this one gets a 5 out of 5.

Beautiful location in bude

Westcliffe is located right on the coast with interrupted views of the beach, Atlantic and some amazing sunsets. The property itself is spacious and perfectly decorated, with plenty of room for 6. The beds are especially comfortable. For us surfing, groceries and the centre of Bude were all a maximum of five minutes away on foot which made for an absolutely amazing weekend for all. We hope to return at our first opportunity.

Coast/Beach:

Summerleaze beach is a step away with its extensive sands, it also has a large breakwater protecting a small harbour and the mouth of the Bude Canal with its massive lock gates and the River Neet. On the other side of the beach the famous Sea pool making safe bathing whatever the weather. Walk along the beach (low tide) or over the Downs to Crooklets beach and if you wish continue over the cliff to Sandymouth and beyond or in the other direction to the glory of Widemouth Bay & on to .

Travel:

Exeter has a mainline train station (fast from paddington is 2 hours 10 minutes) and an airport.

Exeter is an hours drive. Bus connection is available. The Westcliff is 5 minute walk from the bus station.

Bristol airport is 2hour + drive

Newquay airport 1 hour.

Distances:

The town of Bude is at the end of the road, it is a small seaside town on the dramatic north Cornwall coast. With masses of victorian history, "The long wave and the thundering shores of Bude" as Tennyson expressed in his poem The Birth of Arthur. Bude has whatever you are looking for. Beaches, cliff and paths for walkers, Victorian history, 1643 Battlefields, shops, restaurants and tea room, golf course and horse riding, accessibility to the North coast and Devon. Plus character & charm !
