About the property

House in Antibes, Alpes Maritimes, Cote DAzur, France - Magical Views Of The Sea, In The Centre Of Old Antibes

On one of the most picturesque walking streets along the Côte d'Azur. I wish I had a Euro for every picture someone has taken a picture of my house. Around the corner is the Cathedral, Musee' Picasso, and Marche' Provençal. Short distances to Nice, Cannes and an hour train to Italy. A perfect location to enjoy the south of France.

About Nancy Mina

Antibes for me is magical....I enjoy all my neighbours who are French, Swiss, and Swedish. The village multi national. As I was an American ex pat in Asia and Europe for 12 years, I find living a European life several times a year a wonderful balance. My little dog Bubba is a jet setter to travelling with me and loves to meet all the other dogs. He makes me walk him several times a day and it is such a beautiful place to be on the sea. It is beautiful 12 months a year.

Nancy Mina purchased this house in 2006

Why Nancy Mina chose Cannes - Grasse - Antibes

There are very few houses (not apartments) with direct view of the sea. It is in the middle of old village so there is no need for a car and with a private entrance, I found peace and serenity.

A big plus is that it is such a short distance from the airport after a long haul flight!

What makes this house unique

The house is in the center and on sea so views of regattas, sunrises, full moons, yachts and the alps. 200 meters to restaurants, Marche Provencale, museums...

Unique in antibes is that there are only 15 properties with sea views in this location on the remparts...

Guestbook comments from the owner

I have been going to Antibes for many years and have been renting Nancy's house regularly for the past 8 years. She's totally great! and the maisonette (little house) is so charming and wonderful!....Every morning you wake up to a view of the Sea from your bedroom and you can have a glass of wine with delicious French cheeses on the 2nd floor balcony. You can't beat the location: you can see the beach from your window; the marché - a fabulous covered market filled with fresh produce is around the corner. The train station is a 15min walk - and in one hour you can be having lunch in Italy!.....10mins to Cannes; 15mins to Nice......sandy beaches. And Nancy, the owner is very friendly and easy to deal with. ... What can I say - I love Antibes and love this adorable little house by the sea.

A little house with a big personality

  • 5 of 5

Lovely little house in a great situation. Wonderful views of the sea and passing boats. The market and shops a very short distance away. Plenty to do and see in Antibes and surrounding area. Enjoyed it so much I am going back to the house next year.

Wow, unbelievable stay

  • 5 of 5

This place has it all! The view from both the 2nd and 3rd story window is nothing short of breath taking. You can choose to have your coffee on the second floor balcony and wave to the tourists who are admiring the villa(and envious of you having a place on the sea), or you can choose the more private garden down below. Shopping in old town is less than 2 blocks away and the beach is about 1 block. The place is immaculate and the kitchen comes complete with everything necessary for wonderful meals at home. Loved my stay. This place is not your same ol same hotel room. This maisonette captures the artistry and simplicity of the south of France, it feels timeless.

Adorable seaside stay

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful visit! This maisonette in the old town of Antibes has a great location - close to beaches, boats and wonderful restaurants - but nothing can top the view.. Waking up to a view of the sea and stepping onto the balcony for a morning coffee is priceless.

Nancy is a fantastic host providing all our necessities in this immaculate little house. Highly recommend!!

Owner's Response: I stayed here starting on May 6th, honestly a life changer...The seaside 2 story maisonette exports you to another reality. It is perfectly decorated to capture the simplicity and artistry of the south of France. The surroundings of all the buildings truly remind you that you are right next to the Picasso Museum with beautiful doors, architecture and flowers all around. The maisonette itself is sparkling clean and has a 2nd story balcony that is perfect to have your coffee, lunch, dinner, after dinner drinks, etc. You can wave to the all the people admiring the building from that view point or if you prefer privacy there is a quaint garden below. Loved it, would recommend it to anyone. The kitchen is modern and efficient so it is easy to take advantage of the fresh produce and meats in the near by market and make your own luscious meals without all the cost and inconvenience of eating out all the time. There is also a washing machine so you don't have to be hauling around dirty clothes as you travel. Love this truly unique property, it is a bargain as compared to the sterile excessively Americanized hotel chains that are offered elsewhere.

Nice location,house a bit tatty !

  • 3 of 5

We would give 5 stars for the location and the view, but that's about it.

The house is very small as described, but you would expect some more storage space ,even for only two people.Owners clothes in wardrobe

didn't help. The house is very cluttered with

Owners things ,every single drawer in the house

Is full up with stuff.Overall house is a bit tatty,

(Seat covers in lounge, armchairs, rusty fridge etc.)

Water pressure in the house was very low,

almost impossible to have a shower.

Emailed owner, she promised to help but nothing happened.

We had to email her her for the access code

the night before our arrival, she just forgotten to send it.

House would probably be ok for students with

lower expections but not for this price.

Sorry Nancy , but we hope to prevent other

People from getting disappointed

Owner's Response: Thanks for the inputs always. Surprised Thibault didn't stop by! Agree on the storage ... always a problem in the older houses. Bathroom closets should have been empty. Hope you enjoyed the view and the little village. Will be there soon to resolve the issues. Kindest regards Did follow up with the water issue and maintenance did stop and adjusted. But didn't want to bother guest in early morning. Working on additional items

One of the first

  • 4 of 5

My family was one of the first to stay in this delightful house in 2008 after Nancy bought it. Back then it was a really low price for the area. We loved it, it had great views and period charm and is central to all amenities. I'll be back if I can afford the hugely inflated prices.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your thoughts. And do hope you will also contact me direct as I try to accommodate guests on their needs. My costs in 9 years have gone up as well. Utilities, cleaning, laundry, repairs. A little house on the Sea gets wear and tear. Again, please feel free to contact me to see if I can work something out for you. With kindest regards

A delightful spot

  • 5 of 5

A characterful, charming holiday house in a fantastic location overlooking the sea in Antibes.

The house is compact, but offers plenty of room with all the facilities you need for a great holiday. The property was very clean and there was plenty of hot water. We used the kitchen to cook several meals, it was lovely to enjoy them on the balcony with the wonderful view.

Antibes is a charming town and we found no need to have a car for our stay as the train and bus services are easy and cheap to use. Monaco, Nice, Eze, Cannes and Vence are all in easy travelling range, we used Uber to go to Vence and to and from Nice airport.

The owner was very good at keeping in touch to ensure everthing was ok. Would definitely recommend this to family and friends and we plan to return.

Booking Notes:
I do like to speak people on the phone or Skype to better enable a very positive visit for my guests. Booking comes early for the next year and I do ask for a 50percent deposit to hold the booking. I have been very liberal in my cancellation policy and I do realize that there health matters that can't be controlled.

Changeover Day:
I am very liberal on change over day as flights do tend to be full and more expensive on Saturdays.

Notes on prices:
For winter months, I will negotiate a monthly rate.
