Allotment Holiday Apartment is part of a stylish terrace of Georgian town houses, located in the heart of the seaside town of Deal. It is on the first and second floors in spacious, high ceiling rooms. The Apartment has recently been renovated and now combines beautifully subtle paint colours with an eclectic mix of modern and vintage furniture. It has a contemporary kitchen and bathroom with a second lavatory upstairs. It has painted wooden floors and a delightful first floor bay window in the large sitting room, with a window seat in which to sit and watch the world go by. The Apartment sleeps 7 people and has three bedrooms - one double, one twin, one single bedroom and a comfortable sofa bed in the sitting room. From the garden, there is a set of wide stairs leading to a sunny terrace and on into the spacious first floor kitchen/dining room. The stairs to the bedrooms on the second floor are fairly steep so may not be suitable for the elderly or infirm.

Esme and Wil have lived in Deal for over 20 years. They came down from London to visit and fell in love with this beautiful undiscovered gem on the East Kent coast. They run their local produce store and cafe, Allotment, together on the award winning Deal High Street. They enjoy welcoming visitors to the town and sharing their knowledge of the local area and culinary and cultural mix East Kent has to offer.

Fantastic Accommodation Perfectly Located

Booked for a family wedding in Deal and couldn’t have been more central. Lovely spacious accommodation-well equipped for all your needs. Accessed from the rear of the downstairs cafe garden but very private. Although in the High Street, was lovely and quiet. Would highly recommend. Instructions for arrival and parking were excellent. Well worth parking st St George’s at the rear of the apartment and using the Parkgo app for ease of topping up.

Quaint Flat

The flat was clean, comfortable and perfectly located. Many things to do in Deal and the surrounding area. There is a bar in a former crypt around the corner, a first for me.

Great property for 4 or 5 people to do the Kent coast

Great place - all mod cons, very clean and comfortable. Esme is a very friendly and helpful owner - everything was as expected or better.

We walked to seafront, pier, castle and restaurants in minutes. If you drive, parking is pay and display but not expensive, or you can park further away and walk a bit, and it's all easy/safe.

Deal is a beautiful English seaside town with pier, shingle beach etc. with great food and pubs. Very laid back. It's also not far to funfairs and amusement arcades (Margate etc.) or history/views (Dover etc.) or other stuff (Canterbury etc.).

We have had a really great few days - would recommend this apartment, and Deal, to anyone.

Very comfortable

Allotment Apartment was a brilliant place for us 5 tired mums to spend a weekend away from normality!!! It was spacious and comfortable, and well positioned for local shops and close to the beach. Free on street parking was relatively easy to find at a distance of about 5 mins walk. Esme, the owner was communicable by text if we had questions. We had a wonderfully relaxing weekend. Thank you

Allotment: Deal, Kent

The apartment was very clean and well-equipped. It was in a very good location with plenty of local amenities within a short walking distance.

Esme phoned and emailed with information for our stay and made communication very easy. The only thing that was slightly misleading was information about parking. There is no longer any free parking in Deal. It is either pay and display or residents' permit parking. Despite this, I would recommend the apartment.

The beach is 2 minutes walk away. It has shingle at high tide with sandy bits revealed at low tide. The sea is always good for swimming in the summer and safe for children. There is a proper pier with fishing or walking on and a wide prom stretching for miles in each direction for strolling on.


By Road:The M20 and M2 connect directly to Dover then take the A258 to Deal making an easy 2 hour drive from the centre of London. National Express Coaches operate services to and from Victoria Coach Station. Dover Ferry Port is 20 mins and Eurotunnel 30 mins drive. By Rail: Frequent trains from London Charing Cross and the High Speed Service from St. Pancras. By Air: Heathrow is a 2 hour drive. Gatwick is a 1hr 40 min drive. KLM operate a service between Schipol and Manston Airport nearby.


The delightful seaside town of Deal is a unique and undiscovered gem on the Kent coast, located between the historic Cinque Ports of Dover and Sandwich, opposite the famous Goodwin Sands. Ideal for both couples, groups of friends and families, wanting a relaxing holiday.

If you wish to travel a little further afield, then the medieval Cathedral town of Canterbury, the sandy beaches of Broad stairs and Northern France, are just a short drive away!

Deal has a great many individual food shops, including an excellent fishmonger, a well-stocked organic shop, a health food shop, an authentic Italian patisserie and cafe plus many colourful boutiques selling, clothes, accessories, vintage bric a brac and antiques. There is also an M&S and Sainsburys only 5 mins walk away and Ocado will deliver! Deal also has a weekly Saturday market and a Farmer's Market on Wednesdays.

For children, there is the pier and cafe, a couple of small amusement arcades, ice-cream parlour, Sugarboys authentic sweet shop! the beach and the sea, great, of course for swimming and for picnics and barbecues in the warmer weather, as well a kiddies paddling pool (summer only) a pitch and putt ground, Tides swimming pool with wave machines, a maritime museum and an impressive Time Ball museum. The Conservation area is virtually car free and the terrain is completely flat

Deal also hosts an annual Summer festival and a Maritime Fair in the summer months and there are regular Sunday concerts at the bandstand on nearby Walmer seafront. The charming Astor Theatre, with varied theatrical and musical performances and there is usually live music in many of the local pubs throughout the year. Deal has its own excellent links golf course and the nearby Championship Course at Sandwich.

Refundable breakages deposit of £100 - required with balance payment, to be refunded within two weeks of your departure (subject to satisfactory property inspection). 50% of rental fee due at time of booking. Balance to be paid 6 weeks before arrival. Bookings made with less than six weeks before the holiday require full payment at time of booking.

Changeover Day:
There is a minimum 3 night booking. Guests are asked to arrive after 4pm on day of arrival and vacate by 10am on day of departure.

Owner's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund for cancellations more than 30 days before check-in date.
  • 100% refund for cancellations more than 60 days before check-in date.
  • Service Fee fully refunded on cancellations that qualify for 100% refund.
