Jasmine Cottage is a beautifully renovated Carrstone Cottage which is conveniently located in the heart of Hunstanton, being only a 2-minute walk from all amenities and a 5 minute walk from the beach. Jasmine Cottage has been tastefully renovated and fully modernised yet still retains considerable Victorian character and charm including exposed pine floors and pine doors. Additionally there is a sun lounge opening out onto a private mature garden with decking area and BBQ. The Cottage is fully equipped, to comfortably cater for up to 12 guests including babies, making it perfect for families and groups including a catering style kitchen. In the winter months guests can warm themselves in front of a large open fire. The ideal location for the perfect activity holiday in North Norfolk; whether you're into bird watching, walking, cycling, sand surfing or water sports, Jasmine Cottage is the first choice.

About the Owner

In 2001 my husband (an experienced house renovator) and I were looking for a small holiday home in North Norfolk, somewhere fairly rural, when one Sunday lunch we happened upon a photo of Jasmine Cottage for sale in a local estate agent in Hunstanton. I fell in love with this falling down, rambling cottage on first sight and although it went to sealed bids we won and bought the house. I was 6 months pregnant, and we did not realise how convenient living in a town centre cottage is compared to our pre-children rural ideal.

For the next 3 years we lived between our homes in Leicester and Hunstanton, working and slowly renovating Jasmine Cottage with a baby - then toddler, then another baby. The cottage was completely renovated, being stripped back entirely to its shell and re furbished whilst keeping as many of its traditional features as possible.

Although is was hard work, we have many lovely memories of our two boys as babies and toddlers on Hunstanton beaches - digging, building and dune hopping and crabbing at Wells Next the Sea.

Fantastic location and accommodation!

Great house for our 3 families (10 people) to stay in. Lots of clean rooms, great facilities and superb location. Only a few minutes walk away from the front - our children loved the house and Hunstanton; its family pier and sealife centre were amazing. Very helpful owners and we will definitely return. Thank you for a fantastic stay.

Great spacious cottage in a fab location

A walking weekend with the girls was made perfect by this accommodation. It has everything you need, is spacious and comfortable. Evenings with a real fire were fab! Owners are friendly and helpful - they are very knowlegable about the area too.

Beautifully maintaianed, good location

A warm and cosy place to stay in the winter. Had a lovely roaring fire in the lounge. Perfect location for walks along the beach. Also close to lots of small shops in the town. Hope to return again soon.

Fab cottage for large groups

Had a lovely Christmas stay at the cottage. Hazel was very helpful and answered all our numerous queries very promptly and kindly decorated the house for Christmas at our request. Box of chocolates left out for us when we got there which was a nice touch. Comfy beds and front room with space for all 12 of us. Brilliant location, easy walk down to the beach and plenty of shops to potter around. We were just disappointed we hadn't booked for longer!

Great house for large groups

Booking very easy, owners extremely helpful. House renovated to a good standard , bedrooms all decent sizes and living area perfectly sized with lovely open fire. Kitchen well stocked with plenty of crockery and gadgets.

Myself and my husband holidayed on the North Norfolk coast as children and loved the vastness of the beaches and walking in the area. The main attraction about Jasmine Cottage was the traditional aspect and, although derelict, the cosy feel it had - original wooden floorboards, cute attic bedrooms, winding staircases, a multitude of rooms a bit tardis-like really - and of course the potential to make it a really nice cottage. The location of the cottage is also ideal as it is situated just behind the High Street and therefore all amenities can be reached on foot. Including the beach which is literally a 5 minute walk and so is great for families. Hunstanton sits right on the edge of a large Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty - this is a most beautiful and diverse coastline with so much to experience. http://www.visitnorfolk.co.uk/explore/North-Norfolk.aspx

Or - 5 minute drive (20 min walk) to Old Hunstanton's enourmous sandy beach lined by dunes & beach huts with access to the coastal walking path which takes you onwards through the Area of Oustanding Natural Beauty towards Brancaster, Holkam, Wells and beyond.


Nearest airport Norwich (approx 45 miles) or Stanstead (approx 87 miles). Nearest train station Kings Lynn (16 miles).

There is much to do and see in this very special area of Norfolk. A multitude of inland and coastal walks, a huge variety of coastlines to explore and a birdwatcher’s paradise along this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

There is a wide range of water/wind based activity to choose from; Hunstanton has a new Sailing Club, Snettisham Sailing Club (4 miles), Brancaster Sailing Club (7 miles) where you can canoe, sail and paddle board and fantastic beaches along the coast including Hunstanton, Brancaster and Wells on windy days (many) for kite surfing, land boarding and wind surfing.

For cyclists, National Cycle Network Route 1 offers a fascinating journey through West Norfolk.

For walkers (there are numerous routes) including: The Norfolk Coast Footpath which is right on the doorstep, running 47 miles along the North Norfolk Coast and the historic Peddars Way which follows the path of an old romanroad from Hunstanton to Knettishall Heath near the old market town of Thetford.

There are many characteristic pubs which serve good food all the way along the coast, with lovely beers, outside areas for families and enormous fires in the winter, some worth mentioning: Ancient Mariner (Old Hunstanton), Lifeboat, The Orange Tree or The Old Coach House (Thornnham), The Ship, The Jolly Sailors or the White Horse (Brancaster), The Hoste Arms (Burnham Market), The Lord Nelson (Burnham Thorpe).

From the Owner

As mentioned the cottage location is really ideal as you can walk to all amenities, including the beach. There is a professional kitchen which can easily cater for a full house, and a private, enclosed, decked/stone garden to the rear with outdoor cooking and eating facilities which is overlooked by a sun room to the rear of the cottage. In the winter there is an open fire in the lounge and a french wood burning stove in the dining room.

  • Notes on accommodation: For your entertainment there is a selection of games, books and DVDs, WIFI and SKY Unfortunately pets can not be accommodated. Outside: The private garden is made up of part flagstone and part decked area with mature beds between. There is a BBQ area and a large table/chairs for alfresco dining. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: The cottage will be cleaned before and after your stay. Bedding and bed lininen are provided. Hand towels and bath mats are provided in the wash areas.
