With spectacular views of the ocean, these two apartments are nestled in the heart of Playa Blanca with the beautiful beach of Playa Blanca under the terrace´s apartments. Recently renovated, with all comforts, each one of the apartments compromises 1 large bedroom with AC and heat, American fitted kitchens, bathroom with walking shower and bidet, large living rooms with patio doors leading to the terraces, with stunning views over the ocean.

The terraces with seating and dining area offers as well sun lounges .

Recently add all BBC channels + SKY+ German , French , Dutch and Italian available channels. DVD,and Internet connection .

The terraces with approximately 40m2 are the "gem" of the apartments. "If you just want to wake up in the morning looking at the spectacular blue sea and to take a swim just going down the stairs, this is your holiday accommodation." Terrace on apartment B is very private ideal for those who wants total privacy for sunbathing.

Fantastic position, comfortable apartment

Just come back from a week in Apartment Roca Mar, Plays Blanca. This apartment has to be in the best position in the resort. The view straight out over the sea is breathtaking (and perfect for an early morning swim) and being situated right in the middle of the old village means it is an easy walk to Marina Rubicon in one direction and Playa Flamingo in the other.

The apartment itself is comfortably furnished and well equipped. If I had to find something to complain about I would say it could do with a more powerful shower, it seems to take a while for the hot water to come through and it could do with being a stronger flow. But that's being picky - it was a memorable week and we will be back!

Unbelievable view and balcony

We arrived on 14.10.17 and were met by a very courteous Pam, considering I had forgotten to ring her when we arrived at the airport. Once shown the apartment we couldn't wait to get out onto the balcony. What an amazing view. The balcony is huge with a great dining area and sun loungers. The apartment is an excellent size. Air conditioning in bedroom is brilliant. Perfect WIFI and a huge amount of TV Stations including Sky Sports. Lovely small beach right under the balcony. We went to the large beach two days and then decided to use the balcony as a sun bathing area. "NO SAND" brilliant. Two Supermarkets directly across the road with a huge Supermarket just a five minute walk away. We ate out six of our ten nights and self catered for the other four. We had a lovely meal in the Da Vinci restaurant which is directly under the apartment. The food was lovely and the two waiting staff were really nice. Overall a brilliant experience but and it's just a minor but "The Taxi Rank". There is a bit of noise but it did not affect us. Pam assured us that they are going to try and do something with the windows to reduce the noise. We were aware of the taxi rank before we travelled after reading other reviews. The other little thing was the one electrical socket in the kitchen. Hard to use microwave, kettle and toaster. But, we managed and it did not take from the brilliant time we had at Roca Mar. We would definitely return.

Excellent accommodation but needs to be made more soundproof from taxi rank outside.

We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely apartment. The view is beautiful and the beach is just outside. The only disadvantage is the fact that the taxi rank is just below the bedroom windows so the level of noise is quite high at times. If the bedroom was made more soundproof it would be 100%. We had a meal downstairs in the restaurant twice during our stay and it was excellent.

Central location more suited to the hard of hearing.

Upon arrival our first impression of the apartment was that it was basic but serviceable. No effort had been given towards the welcoming finishing touches, like perhaps a bottle of water and some fruit or even a cheap bottle of wine which we have received from every other place we have rented. I was also disappointed to find there were no kitchen or bathroom cleaning products cleaning products, no hand soap or shower gel. These kind of things always get left behind by previous guests - we left washing powder, bleach, washing up liquid, hand soap and shower gel behind. So our first port of call was off to the supermarket before we could even have a cold drink or use the bathroom after a long journey.

The apartment generally didn't feel well cleaned so after sweeping up a lot of dust, fluff and other peoples hair we bleached the floors of every room before unpacking.

The bedroom at night with stiflingly hot the air-conditioning was far too noisy to have on so we had to opt for windows open and the fan to make it bearable.

With the taxi rank directly outside the apartments bedroom there is a queue of approximately 150 people continuously from around 10 PM till 3:30 AM every single night and the noise from this crowd made it virtually impossible to get any sleep at all. The later it got the more drunk the crowd becomes and the noisy they get. I mentioned this to whoever returned my damage deposit at the end of the holiday and her response was "wear earplugs" - what a romantic setting that would be.

The balcony was lovely and big and was good for sunbathing and a bit of people watching, although the paint was flaking off all over the place and need a good clean.

I've stayed all over Lanzarote for the last 25 years and I know there are much more tranquil and pleasant places to stay for the money it cost. I'm afraid we won't be returning to this apartment.

I'm not one to moan and leave unnecessary reviews but I do feel it's justified in this case.

Owner's Response: Dear Guest, We want to thank you to take the time to share your comments with us, which we will take all in consideration as we always keep improving. This is the first time we have a complaint about the cleaning and we regret we haven´t got any call from you as we would send the cleaning lady to clean again what ever was not correct. We apologize for this inconvenience, but we encourage all our guests to call us any time if anything is not done correctly, as we are 24 hours on call. We do not leave gel or shampoo, but we do leave cleaning products for kitchen and washing machine. Water and fruit baskets are a courtesy and I´ll make sure to find out if this weren´t placed at your check in. When you accommodated in the apartment, there have been the local festivities in Playa Blanca with a music concert on the beach just down your terrace. The event was done by 24.00 The taxi rank in town center might make some noise. Some of our guests that keep coming for over 4 years to our apartment recommend to use ear plugs if you are a light sleeper, you can read about this, in the guests feedbacks, as well about the cleaning and the service. At the time of your stay, Calima " sand of the Sahara " was very intense, unfortunately, it doesn´t matter how deep you clean, the sand will get inside the apartment as soon as you open the windows or the sliding doors and having " A sea front terrace " makes impossible to keep the terrace clean of sand. Both of aparments get painted every year as well any other maintenance works need it. We improve every year our standards and we like to keep improving. As I have mentioned previously, we appreciate your feedbacks as it helps us to be better every day. We would like to take this occasion to send you as well our best wishes. Best regards, Juan Medina.

I've stayed in Playa Blanca many times prior to this visit, but not for about seventeen years.

Having searched long and hard for my perfect accommodation - 'perfect' being in the main town of Playa Blanca, sea view, decent balcony, near a supermarket, and within easy walking distance of one of the two main beaches - I found the Roca Mar 1 Apartment on Owners Direct.

I made the booking with a 50% deposit, then paid the balance, plus a €150 breakage deposit, on arrival (standard procedure for this type of accommodation).

We were greeted by the owner's representative, Pam, who went through all we needed to know about the apartment and the area. Pam also gave us a discount card which entitled us to a 10% discount when eating at the owner's restaurant - Da Vinci - plus a couple of other restaurants in the area.

The facilities within the apartment were more than adequate for our needs:

There are two supermarkets - Spar and HiperDino - directly behind the apartment.

The town taxi rank is located behind the apartment and there is some noise, as you'd expect. I always take ear plugs or listen to music while falling asleep, so this was not an issue for me.

There are a vast number of superb restaurants within easy walking distance of the apartment, absolutely spoilt for choice.

Great balcony and view

The apartment was clean and comfortable with the facilities you'd expect. The kitchen is pretty basic with no oven and only a dual hob and microwave so if you like to cook it's a bit limited. Also some condiments, tea, coffee would have been nice. Having said that there are ample good restaurants about. The apartment is located central to all amenities and you can be on the beach, in a bar or restaurant in 60 seconds, however the busy taxi rank located directly outside the bedroom is really noisy all night. Not only noise from customers queuing but from the taxi drivers talking loudly all night, 2 - 6 in the morning.

The apartment is all about the sun terrace with it's great view which is really good during the day and early evening.

To sum up, nice apartment with great views but if you like your sleep, maybe not for you.
