About Susan

We are Susan and Steve. We currently live in Spain and intend to live full-time in Cornwall when we retire. Until then, we hope you enjoy our lovely cottage in St Ives as much as we do.

Why this location?

We chose a cottage in St Ives because we have had many happy times on holiday in Cornwall. It has all the things that we love: a choice of beaches, each with their own characteristics and all within a short distance of each other, a wide range of places to eat including some outstanding restaurants. St Ives is a pretty town with beautiful architecture, quirky narrow streets, a wide range of interesting shops, art galleries, wonderful sandy beaches and surfing all within a short walk from the cottage.

What makes this cottage unique

The benefits of the property include a very pretty, peaceful location, spacious enclosed, south west facing, private garden, which, is safe for children, great for a BBQ and backs onto paddocks.

Parking space which is a premium in St Ives allowing a walk into town or take the car to the many other fantastic coastal towns in the area including Penzance,St Michael's Mount, Marazion, Falmouth and Truro.

The coastal path which runs past the cottage to Zennor is perfect for enjoying peaceful walks with fantastic country side and cliff top ocean views and benefits a lovely walk into St Ives, Porthmeor beach and the Tate.

Our Study playroom helps to keep the family entertained during bad weather and provides the grown ups and children opportunity to watch their own TV/DVD.s, playstation

Over 30 years since we were last in St Ives & we were not disappointed. Lovely cottage, very well presented with everything you need & more for a great stay. The places to explore in & beyond St. Ives are too numerous too mention but can there be a better coastline anywhere! Would strongly recommend the cottage for a family holiday but not for a week; make it a fortnight.

Just back from our 4th "great stay"

We've just returned from our 4th stay at Corner Cottage, and yet again we've had a great holiday, we love Corner Cottage for a whole number of reasons, it has a charming cottage feeling, it's very clean and tidy, and very spacious, the kitchen and dining room are very well equipped, it's like being at home, everything is there for you, even down to lovely tableware, there is a downstairs toilet and a study, the lounge is large, and has sky TV including sky sports !! the french doors lead into the garden, we particularly love this garden as we take our dog on holiday with us, the garden is large and 100% escape proof for the dog, there is a decking area and a BBQ too, upstairs has 3 double rooms, and the bathroom with a nice shower cubical, all rooms are very well decorated with lovely fresh white bedding, and the views from the master bedroom are stunning,

The cottage is on the edge of some fields which lead to the cost path, so you get the feel of a country and seaside retreat all in one, the cost path is a great, and it's a must to take the walk into St Ives, you might even spot seals or dolphins.

I would highly recommend Corner Cottage to couples with a dog (like us) and for families of all ages and sizes, it really does suit all.

We even stayed there last xmas, and was greeted with a festive welcome pack, and a fully decorated xmas tree.

We will be back for visit number 5 again soon.

Beautiful, comfortable house in a perfect location

The house is very beautiful, spacious and offers all amenities and comforts you could wish for. It is very tastefully decorated to a consistently high standard. We found it very clean and welcoming. Both the owner and the agent offered perfect support. Even when we had a major technical problem with our car they were able to recommend a garage that took care of it at once. The location offers a perfect mix. Walking time to St. Ives harbour, Porthmeor Beach and the coast path including seal-watching in some 15 mins each. And there's buses running up and down the hill, too. The house is perfectly quiet, sitting on the outer edge of a beautiful, green little neighborhood at the end of a very narrow lane. The backyard is also lovely, very private with a little lookout into the countryside. Ideal for a bbq or just relaxing. We had a fantastic time and will be back before long.

A wonderful private St Ives cottage

Corner cottage is a beautiful and well equipped cottage tucked away on the very outskirts of St Ives. It feels private and tranquil whilst being able to walk to the pubs and restaurants in town. It's a steep walk in parts - but for those who don't want the walk there seemed to be plenty of taxis available.

From the cottage it is a lovely walk across fields to the coastal path.

The cottage is nicely decorated, well furnished and has everything that's needed in the kitchen. The garden is private and has a wonderful look out point up about 5 steps - from where you can see over the fields. The garden also has a section that is part screened by a hedge with a washing line - and which would be a great area for children to play. Children would love the garden - as did we!

The beds were comfortable which is always a bonus in holiday cottages and there were even throws available for anyone who wanted to wrap themselves up whilst watching a film or having a read. Though with the gas fire they are very much an optional extra rather that a necessity!

We spent most of our time walking the coastal path between the Cape of Cornwall and just beyond Hayle. It is stunningly beautiful and varied and we love the area. As well as the coastal path, the moors are just behind the cottage and also offer walks and fantastic views. It's less than a 5 minute drive to a car park by the moors.

We would absolutely recommend the cottage and will no doubt be returning - and hopefully will get the wall to wall sunshine we enjoyed this time....

Newquay Airport 45 minutes Exeter Airport 90 minutes. Both have regular flights from all the main UK airports.


Penzance 8 miles. Truro 23 miles. St Michael's Mount 8 miles. Land's End 18 miles. Newquay 30 miles. Falmouth 28 miles. St Austell, home of the Eden Project approx 40 miles.

St Ives has a wealth of activities and was recently voted the best holiday destination in the UK. Beaches, boat trips, the Tate Gallery, museums and an attractive town centre with plenty of shops, bars and restaurants. Easy access via A30 to the rest of Cornwall with its tin, gold and china clay mines, many castles, country houses and gardens, museums and theatres, theme parks, wildlife, art and heritage.
