About Heather Lawton

We have lived in the beautiful village of Berriew all of our lives and look forward to sharing it with you.

Heather Lawton purchased this cottage in 1999

Why Heather Lawton chose Wales

We have lived in the area all of our life and we bought the property in 1999 and run it as a Post Office and Corner Shop until it closed in 2008.

Due to the closure it was necessary to find a new life for the premises and due to its lovely central location We decided that it would be an ideal location for guests to explore and enjoy rural Mid Wales.

What makes this cottage unique

The cottage is very conveniently situated, just a mile off the main A.483 and also has a bus route through the village.

It is situated in the very active working village of Berriew, which has two pubs, a Spar shop, butchers shop, a deli/tearoom, gift/card shop and a church, all of which are within view of the cottage.

It is in an excellent location for exploring the area by car, cycling or walking.

Would like a return visit.

  • 5 of 5

We liked the village location with bedroom and roof terrace overlooking the river. We liked the cottage, two bedrooms and bathrooms, one up one downstairs, airy well equipped kitchen, all perfectly clean. We also liked the walks from the door and local pubs. We disliked leaving and nothing else.

Perfect location for us and a comfortable cottage to come back to each day

  • 5 of 5

Great location for walking the Montgomery canal, making use of local buses from right outside the cottage. Local shops provided all we could want, including lovely cake from the tea shop in Berriew

  • 5 of 5

We were 4 sisters looking for a weekend get away together. The property was lovely, very clean and we'll presented. The owner was really nice and friendly.

The village Berriew was quaint and full of character. Two pubs in easy reach with very friendly locals.

All together a great weekend and would go back any time,, a real gem.

A real gem!

  • 5 of 5

A very comfortable and well equipped cottage in a lovely village location. The roof terrace is a lovely spot to catch the sun and watch the world go by. Great to have 2 bathrooms too. The kitchen is well equipped and we made use of the BBQ on the terrace. The location is a beautiful and peaceful village. The canal is a nice 5 miles walk into Welshpool. I would definitely recommend this property for a peaceful and relaxing break. It is a good base for seeing the area. The addition of WiFi kept our teenage children happy and scrabble made for some fun evenings! 10/10
