The White House is a beautifully appointed 19th century terraced house in the historic port of Charlestown, combining original and contemporary features just 50m from the beach. Underfloor heating, slate floors, drench-head showers and crisp white bed linen provide luxury, and the private, enclosed garden with decking, football and climbing frame has spectacular views over St Austell bay. The house has 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 2 sitting rooms, a spacious kitchen/dining room with granite-topped work surfaces, a range cooker and large island unit. The dining table seats 10 people. In addition, a glass roofed conservatory has table tennis, laundry facilities and a shower room.

Outside: The garden is accessed from the first floor over a walkway on the conservatory. This leads to a patio area, and a cobbled garden path leads through lovingly planted borders to a large grassed area with football goals, a climbing frame and decking area with outdoor furniture. The garden is private and enclosed and has beautiful views over St Austell Bay. To the front of the property there is a small, street seating area on benches. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and bed linen are included - please bring your own beach towels. The property is cleaned on changeover days. When the property is booked for 2 weeks or more there will be a complete clean and bed linen/towel change. Other: Glass covered conservatory to rear of property with table tennis, laundry facilities and downstairs wc/shower room.

Excellent location, spacious, practical, modern interior with spectacular garden

Had an excellent week exploring the area - close to Heligan, Eden, beaches, and swimming and kayaking. House had everything we needed for a family get together and lovely evenings enjoying the view over the sea from the garden.

Our family holiday

Excellent! Family house, garden amazing! Good all over space, bedrooms fine and comfortable . Bathrooms good . Light and spacious ! Kitchen very useable!! Which we did!! Plenty of crockery and spaces to read! Games room fun and well used ! Car parking limited! Couldn't get second car in no 14 as other drivers not too considerate! And parking now changed in car park in village!! Not as tourist friendly now, if you having to put 24 hours on. Village great!

Beautiful house and a fabulous location

We had a wonderful week at the White House. The property itself is beautiful with everything and more you could want in a holiday home.

The large garden was perfect for children of all ages with a fabulous view for the adults.

I would strongly recommend the White House for the property with all of its character and everything you need to relax or play, the location and the helpful owners.

White house Charlestown

White House is a lovely large cottage with a hidden gem of a garden which has gorgeous views of the sea. The property has a commanding location on the harbour which has several places to eat and drink . The cottage is well equipped and clean , our experience of owners customer service was good. We would recommend to friends

The house overlooks the harbour and there are beaches on the left and right. The left beach is pebbly, but sandy at low tide and there are rock pools. The beach is 50m from the house.


St Austell railway station is a 10 minute drive. Newquay Airport is approximately 30 minutes. A car is recommended.


The village of Charlestown has 2 pubs and several other places to eat. There are two supermarkets within a 5 minute away and St Austell town close by.

Booking Notes:
To book, please check availability and email us to make a booking. We aim to respond quickly. A 50% deposit is required to secure a booking with the balance payable 8 weeks before arrival. A booking less than 8 weeks before arrival needs to be paid in full. A damage deposit of £200 (returnable within 2 weeks of stay) is also required with the final payment.

Changeover Day:
Changeover day is Saturday.
Guests are required to vacate the property by 10am on departure day.
Arrival time is 4pm.


Parking for one car outside property. A second car may be parked further up the road (displaying permit sign). Any additional cars may be parked in public car park in the village - a fee is charged.

Manager's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund for cancellations more than 14 days before check-in date.
  • 100% refund for cancellations more than 30 days before check-in date.
  • Service Fee fully refunded on cancellations that qualify for 100% refund.
