Guestbook comments from the owner

"Peaceful spot in a beautiful city" posted by Nora S. 29/04/13.

I spent two weeks at this lovely house in December. The accommodation was very comfortable and well furnished. I particularly liked the light airy feel , with each room overlooking a small courtyard or garden. The spacious open plan kitchen made it very easy to cook in, and we also found the barbecue and rear garden extremely useful .

The house itself is situated in a secure complex with lovely well maintained gardens. We particularly enjoyed the pool at the end of a long hot day exploring the Cape . Although it is centrally situated between the city and False Bay, the house and garden offered us a secure haven of peace away from the crowds. What's more, its central position enabled us to reach the main sights within twenty minutes, be it the Waterfront, Kirstenbosch Gardens or beaches such as Nordhoek or Muizenburg. I can highly recommend this holiday home .

Very good service and well equipped

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for 2 weeks in this house and we had a great time. It was clean and very well equipped. The shopping mall was within walking distance and it was close to the major attractions. The communication with the owner was good and quickly. We would recommend it to anyone who would like to travel to Capetown and wants to have a relaxing time.

Guinea Fowl Lodge

  • 4 of 5

We were very pleasantly surprised on arrival at how modern Guinea Fowl Lodge was (Web photo's do not do it any justice). All modern conveniences and good location (would need a car though). Little things like tea, coffee, sugar, (milk from Cy) were at our disposal and after a long and tiring journey we truly appreciated this lovely touch so didn't have to shop until the following day; also the beautiful flowers. Cy and Hector were most welcoming and were very forthcoming with information on what was in the locality and generally around the Cape. The Blue Route Mall is a short walk from the Lodge. Cy and Hector, thank you so much for the loan of the golf clubs. You were so helpful in all areas. It really was a "Home Away From Home" and such a relaxing place to stay. If we returned to Cape Town, we would definitely book Guinea Fowl Lodge again. Thank you - Peter & Mary (Ireland)

Home from home

  • 5 of 5

Two mature couples used this property for a holiday. This property was in an idea position for touring the Western Cape. Being central for lots of places to visit. The place its self was home from home and everything possible was catered for making our stay fantastic. We were able to spend days in if required to relax and enjoy the house and pool area. The property is well situated for shopping mall with various shops restaurants close at hand . Which were walking distance to enjoy a day from driving if required. We would definitely use this property again and recommend it to others. The lady who looks after the property was on hand if needed, and nothing was too much trouble.

The property is situated on the False Bay side of the peninsular, the closest beach being Muizenburg, about 10 mins by car away. Following the coastline, you will come across many excellent beaches and charming villages and towns such as St James, Kalk Bay, Fish Hoek, Simon's Town, Boulders and on to Cape Point. Slightly further away, on the Atlantic coast, are the magnificent beaches of Noordhoek and Kommetjie.

Cape Town International airport (CPT) is about half an hour's drive from the house. Car hire and airport transfers are readily available at the airport. A car is essential for this property and a secure parking space is provided free of charge.

Further Details:

A "meet and greet" service at the community gates is provided by our friend, Cynthia, who is a resident of the community. Cy will also be on hand for help and advice if needed.
