A further double bedroom with a french relaxed feel about it over looks the orchard. There are 2 bright twin bedrooms with open views of the gardens and the beauty beyond. A separate shower room upstairs and a downstairs bathroom with a corner bath and double wash basins. The delightful kitchen feels like home from home and has all the modern appliances, including an oven, hob, dishwasher, fridge, etc and the french doors open out onto the breakfast terrace with an undercover seating area.

Set in 80 acres of secluded meadow and woodland, a safe and peaceful environment with large mature gardens surrounding the property on all sides with fantastic views over-looking the countryside. Lots of walks in the cool and peaceful woods. Shaded private terraces for outside dining with a lovely middle terrace with a pizza oven and BBQ. The secluded and enclosed swimming pool area has a beautiful oak Pavilion to relax inside from the heat of the day, or chilling out with a good book. Just a 10 min stroll to our local Bastide village, Villefranche du Perigord, has many shops, cafes and restaurants. A real step back in time, where you can enjoy the fresh produce from the friendly local people. It is only 12 mins from Monpazier, 30 mins from Sarlat, Beynac, and the Dordogne river. Great place for cycling with quiet roads.

About Tracy Scott

My husband and I and our 2 girls moved here nearly 15 years ago. As soon as we saw this beautiful house and old stunning barn within the grounds, we immediately fell in love with not only the place but also the surrounding area which is steeped in history and beauty! We simply just couldn't go back! It truly is a step back in time!

Come and experience it for yourself.

Tracy Scott purchased this house in 2003

Why Tracy Scott chose Villefranche-du-Périgord

Off the beaten track, yet close enough within walking distance to the local friendly village with plenty of shops, boulangeries, butchers, cafes, restaurants, mini-marts, bank, tourist office etc.

No passing traffic, safe haven for everybody to enjoy the peace and quiet and all the wildlife and feel totally relaxed. A great base to do some serious sightseeing!

What makes this house unique

Complete safety. The beautiful large gardens, the smells from the roses and lavenders, listening to the tree crickets soaking up the sun and the most amazing views and sunsets and starry skies that go on and on forever..........

Beautiful property, well located for exploring the Dordogne and Lot

  • 5 of 5

Property is set in a lovely location on the edge of Villefrance du Perigord. The property is well equipped and has everything that you could need. In addition to the sheltered and secluded pool area, there are a number of places to enjoy an evening glass of wine after a day's exploring. Highlights like canoeing on the Dordogne, Beynac, Castelnaud, Sarlat, Chateau de Bonaguil etc are all very easily reachable. Really appreciated the warm welcome and generous initial supplies from Tracy and family. Definitely somewhere we would recommend and would be happy to return to.

This was the second time we have stayed here. Everything was fantastic, from the house to the pool to Tracy (the owner), and the weather!!

We had a great time. We have two children aged 9 and 7 and there is plenty of activities on site for them. Tracy is super friendly, and nothing is too much trouble for her. She even helped us with our dodgy BBQ-ing skills!

The house is fully equipped with everything you could need and more, and the outside areas are superb

The local village has two small supermarkets, two bakeries and a couple of cafes. It is beautiful and quaint. We enjoyed getting fresh bread every morning.

I would recommend this place to anyone wishing to have a relaxing holiday.

Wonderful house, grounds, location and hosts

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed a wonderful week at La Borie Grande. We were an extended family group and the size of the house, different areas outside, and the gardens meant that we all felt we had plenty of space to enjoy together, or alone! The local town is lovely, and Tracy and family couldn't be more helpful hosts. A week just wasn't long enough!

An absolute gem!

  • 5 of 5

We booked this property by the beautiful photographs and were amazed when we arrived just how stunning it is in real life! The house is just fantastic! The rooms are huge all with outstanding views over the countryside. The outside space was beyond our expectations, from the gardens to the outside pizza oven and bbq area to the gorgeous decking that we spent many a night sat watching the sunset while sampling the local vin! Having our own private swimming pool was fantastic and it was always spotlessly clean. Tracy and her family are so lovely and helpful, they went above and beyond to help us plan trips and were even there in an instant when we couldn't light the pizza oven. Please don't hesitate to book this wonderful property, you will not regret it!

Fabulous house

  • 5 of 5

On arrival, we were kindly greeted by Tracy and a wonderful 'Welcome Pack'. The house is absolutely stunning. All the rooms are large and spacious as are the grounds which are kept so immaculate.

Our first week was my husband and I and our 4 children, aged from 4-16 yrs old. There was so much on site to keep them all occupied with a fab park, badminton and boules courts, and the endless walks in the woods and chasing after the butterflies and squirrels in the garden - it was hard to drag them away to see the sites around.

Coming back to the pool was such a delight! It is completely safe being fenced and gated and a hedge all around so you are totally private.

My parents joined us for our 2nd week and loved chilling out in all the shady places for 'book reading' and spending the evenings chatting while cooking on the bbq and watching the amazing sunsets and we have never seen so many stars!!!

We all agreed we have never enjoyed a holiday so much or felt as relaxed.

Thank you so much x

Beautiful with breath taking views

  • 5 of 5

The borie grande was beautiful and clean with everything you could wish for and more. The pool area was perfect - safe for the kids (4 and 5) and relaxing for the adults. The views from the house are amazing and the dining area over looking the forest and hills was picture perfect. There was plenty to do in the local area (the caves in padirac definitely worth a visit) and the fact that the house was a 10min walk to the gorgeous town was perfect.

Tracy and her family were helpful, friendly and on hand if we needed anything, but the way in which the house was situated it felt like we were the only ones there.

I loved it and can see why Tracy has settled there in that perfect part of France.

Thank you for such a fab holiday.
