Only 5 minutes drive, less than 20 minutes walk to the beach. This spacious apartment has a south facing terrace within a private gated community, with pools and well stocked, mature gardens. Within walking distance are the amenities of both Calahonda and Riviera, Costa del Sol, and close to Marbella.

The apartment has 2 bedrooms: one with King size bed, large fitted wardrobe and en-suite with bath and shower; the second bedroom has 2 single beds and large fitted wardrobe; the second bathroom has a shower enclosure.

The apartment is ideal for 4 adults, or 2 adults and 2 children.

It has double glazing throughout, is fully air conditioned with hot and cold settings for maximum comfort, with marble floors in all living areas.

Only 300 metres walk to a Recreation Club with FREE WIFI access, 2 restaurants, bar facilities, and for a small fee daily or weekly gym/spa membership.

1 km (15 minutes walk) to El Zoco Moroccan style courtyard, Calahonda, with a wide variety of al fresco dining.

Apartment was roomy but acsess not really suitable for handicap.

Arrived at 11.30pm and found key to complex had been changed! Not a good start. Young couple helped us to find apartment but access was not easy for people with walking difficulties.Found kitchen cooking utensils tired,could do with more different size saucepans.

Weather was good the first week and we made good use of the terrace which faced south. Visited

Mijas in the hills and Ronda. Very pretty.

Weather not good 2nd week, storms,torrential rain.Left early for home.

Owner's Response: 3 stars??? THIS REVIEW IS NOT CORRECT. What a shame our guests did not mention even one issue in 4 chatty telephone conversations we had during their stay. The afternoon prior to the reservation, by telephone, the guests requested if they could arrive one night early. We gave this extra night free charge. Our answers to specific points are: 1) Key - The following week the key was used with no problem. 2) Access - Our guest information explains easy elevator access for those with walking difficulties, wheelchairs or pushchairs. 3) Utensils - Many reviews describe the apartment as well-equipped. Strangely, when they departed these guests forgot to take fish from the fridge and switched off the fridge??? We received their review 7½ weeks after departure. During their stay the guests told us their car broke on their journey to Spain from France. This, together with poor weather, probably “clouded” their memories. Or, in 7½ weeks, as forgetting the fish, had they forgotten which accommodation they were reviewing?

The property was excellent, very well equipped.

Home from home really. All areas of complex were so well maintained, beautiful pool, shame the water was so cold which was quite astonishing considering the temperature outside. We did note that the Opalo gate was not locked, n fact no lock on it. As regards initial access we found that quite difficult until days later when we discovered the lifts, from them on absolutely fine. hi

Full details regarding access using the lifts was sent to you on 4th August and you confirmed on 12th August you had printed this information. What a shame you didn't refer to the access details!

The apartment is modern, comfortable, well equipped and within a very nice, quiet community. The pool area is great, cleaned every morning and surprisingly quiet. We often had the pool to ourselves. Our children really enjoyed it and it's perfect for cooling off after a hot day!

Once we familiarised ourselves with the area, most days we would walk down to the beach & supermarket, which takes about 20mins. The beach is a little pebbly but this wasn't a problem for us (children may want to wear beach shoes in the sea).

The walk back to the apartment is up some very steep hills and not ideal in the heat, so we'd usually hop in a taxi (taxi rank is opposite the supermarket/outside Princess Diana Park) which cost on average €6. If you don't mind a bit of walking, you can walk back in the evenings once it's cooled down!

We visited Fuengirola a few times, catching the 220 bus from outside 'Max Beach' (beachfront bar/restaurant). Bioparc Zoo is worth a visit, we've been a couple of times over the years. It costs approx.€60 for a family of 4, but it is one of the best zoos we've visited. You can usually pick up discount vouchers in shops/hotel foyers.

You can also catch the 220 bus to Marbella (heading in the opposite direction).

Food recommendations:

'The Organic Cafe' in Fuengirola for delicious vegan/vegetarian meals and freshly made drinks. 'La Plaza' Italian Restaurant (above the OpenCor supermarket) is family friendly & offers great pasta/pizza at reasonable prices.

However, the apartment kitchen is well equipped so we often cooked then enjoyed a relaxing drink on the terrace.

We found that we didn't need a car, as we're happy to do a bit of walking and used the local buses/taxis. The owners are helpful and always responded quickly to emails before and during our stay. They kindly allowed us to check-out late which was useful as we had an evening flight with young children. We would certainly recommend Monte Marina and will consider booking again for next year. Many thanks!

Elviria Hills apartment.

Hello ! This is the third time that we rent this lovely apartment and it's always a great pleasure to come in. This apartment is very well equipped ( a dishwasher is now avaible.) the view on the tropical garden and the pool is very nice. you also have a see view in the distance. this apartment is situated in the hills of Elviria and you will need a car. Now we just hope to rent it again.
