October half term breather!!

  • 5 of 5

After a fabulous hassle free drive down the auto route in the October sunshine, was delighted to arrive at Mas Tuilleire ! Wow what a welcome I and my friends had. Walking into the property was a breath of fresh air. Clean spacious ,high ceilings and very tastefully decorated and homely. Claire seems to understand that when you need a break, you also need to be pampered. The wine in the fridge was a great welcome. The surrounding area is very beautiful and easy to drive around as it is off peak.I highly recommend this secret little gem on the edge of this charming village to anyone needing a quiet break with beautiful landscape and seascapes to enjoy.

Everything you needed

  • 5 of 5

On arrival everything was as the description and pictures stated ,and to a very high standard, Claire was very helpful and prompt with any queries we had by phone or email.

As for the location it's perfect, beaches and supermarkets all within a 5 minute drive and a wonderful butchers and bakery within walking distance in the village

We had some wonderful days out in Girona,Perpignan and Toulouse and a trip on the Le Train Jaune is a must .

We spent our lazy days at Plage Nord ,which is a spotless, and had some great meals in Collioure,Banuyl and Ceret (recommend Le francais brasserie in the town square)

And I had wonderful conversations with the lady next door ,with my 20% French and her 0% English ,it was very entertaining for my wife and daughter

The house is just far enough away ,so after a long day it's nice to chill out in the peaceful surroundings .

All in all its a wonderful location to explore this area of France and also a lovely property to just relax in.

When we holiday in this area of France again we will definitely return here

Thank you Claire for letting use your lovely house

Lovely house in working village near Meditarranean

  • 5 of 5

The house was lovely, a good size for our group of 6. The location was perfect, situated in a village with everything you could need. Within 10 -15 minutes drive there are many beautiful beaches to choose from, and both Perpignan and the Spanish border are an easy drive. The owner and manager were both very helpful. I would definitely recommend this holiday home.

Great Stay!

  • 5 of 5

Just as described, and as you see in the pictures. Located just outside Saint-Andre, a small town about 10mins drive from the beach. Enough room for a family, with a well equipped modern kitchen and bathroom. The bedrooms are all good sized and with good light. Note the house is on two levels with the sleeping area up some relatively steep stairs so care is needed from both young and old persons. The local town has a couple of decent supermarkets to get supplies from but also loads of eating options within a short drive of the place. Would definitely recommend if looking for a place to stay near Collioure or Argeles Sur Mer. Also, communications with Claire the owner was easy and any/all questions quickly answered. Thanks Claire!

Mas Tuillerie

  • 5 of 5

Arrived at Mas Tuillerie to find a lovely house, nice & cool inside with a large lounge & spacious rooms, would be lovely & cosy in cooler weather with the lovely fire place. Property was clean & well maintained with plenty of kitchen ware.

Nice to be welcomed with a bottle of red! Nice touch.

The main bedroom was large with really comfortable king size bed with lovely linen. Nice & quiet & peaceful after rather noisy Argeles village! St Andre is a really small village with a great little bakers selling fresh baguettes ,croissants etc. There is one really good restaurant La Table de Cuisine which is definitely worth a visit. The property is only about 5 mins to local Inter marche & only 10 -15 mins from nearest beach.easy access to motorways for visiting all areas. The Wi-fi works very well in all of the house. Claire was very helpful & emailed straight back to answer any queries. Outside area was rather small ,but adequate, with table ,chairs, loungers etc.everthing you need! Lovely week!

A tres jolie break! Highly recommend.

  • 5 of 5

A really lovely holiday home, a few minutes walk from a friendly village you can get amazing bread/croissants/fruit every morn. The sunny decking area is ideal to sit out on to eat, inside the house is immaculately maintained with all mod cons, cosy but roomy for the 4 of us. The housekeeper was really helpful & the owners recommended local restaurants etc. We really enjoyed cycling in the local area on the bikes at the house, the mountain scenery, nearby beaches & a short drive into Spain for cheap shopping/art museums were fab!

From the Owner

Our goal was to buy a place in the south of France and after visiting Argeles a couple of years ago we discovered what a great area it is. Close to the Spanish border, the Pyrennees where we can go skiing in the winter, and beaches within a ten minute drive. We found our house in Saint Andre in September 2012. What we loved about the house was the traditional style with olive green shutters. It was sunny, bright and spacious. It was set in a quiet courtyard which was important for us where we can sit outside on a warm balmy evening and enjoy a glass of wine .

Activity and Interests

Fabulous choice of beaches all just a 10- 20 minute drive away; Argeles, which boasts 15 kilometres of sand and has a back drop of the mountains where several beach cafes serve delicious Mediterranean food at very reasonable prices. The beach at Racou is a cycle ride away, has a great beachside café where we regularly go for lunch.

Saint Cyprien and Plage Nord are less crowded beaches and very popular with families during the summer months.

From the Owner

The property is close to all the local amenities. We loved the fact that you can walk into the village in the morning to buy your croissants and baguettes. There is a traditional restaurant in the village for those evenings where you don't feel like cooking. It also has a takeaway pizzeria where pizzas are baked in a stone baked oven. Plenty of choice of local restaurants serving traditional French food. You can either eat out at the local port of Argeles or visit Collioure which is famous for it's anchovies and sea food. There are many festivals and Fetes during the summer months. The times these are held can be found at the local tourist information office.
