Overview

About the property

Cottage in Rowen, Conwy, Wales - Peaceful Location, 5 Minutes Walk To The Pub. No pets.

Pen-y-Bont is a tastefully restored, central heated, c16 Welsh cottage set in the picturesque village of Rowen at the heart of the Conwy Valley, in the Snowdonia National Park. Situated in a secluded location but also within a 5-minute walk of a lively, traditional pub, featuring Welsh singing every Friday night, great food and serving the best pint of Guinness outside of Dublin (probably)...not to be missed!

There are a wealth of activities within close proximity, including Conwy Castle, the World's longest zip-wire (www.zipworld.co.uk), surfing in Dolgarrog (https://surfsnowdonia.com) or for those rainy days there's Go Below (www.go-below.co.uk). For great views you can cable car up the Great Orme, visit the Welsh Mountain Zoo or get the Snowdon Mountain Railway.

If you're feeling energetic the area is a walker's paradise with all the majestic peaks of North Wales within close proximity & ancient Roman paths and the multi-award winning Bodnant Garden (Owned by the National Trust and one of the most spectacular and admired botanical gardens in Europe) right on your doorstep.

This is a tiny snapshot of the many things that you can do - or you could just relax and read a book, play a board game or watch one of our many great DVD titles. The choice is yours :)

This is an ideal cottage for a couple looking to have a relaxing break. I cannot praise it enough and the setting is beautiful. Loved every minute of it and the bed so comfortable. Worth every penny, we will be back.

Wonderful.

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for a long weekend to celebrate my husband’s birthday. The cottage has been lovingly restored and extended and offers a perfect spot for a short break, or extended visit, to Snowdonia. Other than limited wardrobe and drawer space you have everything you need - and we were amazed at the lightning fast fibre broadband given the location. The outdoor table and chairs could be more substantial, but this is a minor point. And with the lovely pub literally at the end of the path if you are don’t want to use the well equipped kitchen refreshment isn’t too far away. If you’re after a peaceful retreat in a stunning part of the UK you won’t go wrong here.

A peaceful retreat

  • 4 of 5

The cottage is very well furnished and very comfortable and has everything you could need to help you have a relaxing time - all you could hear in the morning were the birds! The village has many walks - some easy and some quite challenging. Very friendly pub serving good food and on a Friday night the locals get together to sing - wonderful. I would certainly recommend staying here.

Perfectly located for a quiet getaway

  • 5 of 5

We were looking for a private cottage with a nearby village pub and couldn't have picked better. The cottage is surprisingly large whilst still feeling cosy with the fire on in the evenings. Lovely large bed, beautifully finished and furnished throughout. The pub is a 30 second walk over the footbridge and across the road. Very welcoming, nice atmosphere, and great food.

We'll be back
